We stumbled across El Rocio looking for accommodation travelling from Spain to Portugal - we were not expecting what we found! Sand roads and people riding around on horses going to the pub! Apparently this was typical on the weekends for the town. A very friendly place to stay, the staff were welcoming and kind. We stayed with two dogs at no extra charge. Breakfast was good, nothing fancy but a great start to the day. Room was basic but clean and all you need for a one night stay! Would recommend it as a cultural experience and something different!

What I liked: super nice covered patio with lots of plants, creating a fresh environment. Staff is nice, location is great. What I didn’t like: the mattress. I also wished the breakfast had something homemade. The breakfast was basic but copious and was completed by some quality biscuits which I really liked.

clean rooms, very kind staff: we were sick and they gave us all the possible material to take care of us and a very good breakfast. If it weren't for the uncomfortable beds due to the very hard springs it would have been perfect.

Very nice and comfortable rooms. There is not noisy, great to have a good rest. I usually stay here because I have a little dog. I recommend it.

First, Rocio is a FASCINATING town, which is definitely worth the visit. We came for the National Park -- and while that was nice, it wasn't THAT impressive. But the town itself is so interesting -- we arrived, and seeing the unpaved streets, the hitching posts instead of sidewalks, we wondered "what is going on here"? It is like the set of a Hollywood western, and as we began to learn why that was, it became even more interesting. ||On the hotel: We are family of 4 (2 parents; 2 college-age kids), who stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The apartment was spacious and clean, in a quiet building of other apartments. The apartment was about 100 yards from the main hotel property, where breakfast was served; the breakfast was good. Our main complaint was with the service and amenities: the tv in the room did not work (which was a problem because we wanted to watch the World Cup matches), and the wifi was incredibly weak. Both problems were solved by staff: they turned on the big-screen TV in the dining room just for us, to watch the game; and we used the wifi in the main lobby -- but it was inconvenient. The receptionist also incorrectly told us upon arrival that breakfast was included, when in fact it wasn't, and then they charged us in the end. BUT they recognized their mistake and corrected it, removing the charge. So while everything was good in the end, it required a little more effort on our part than would be idea.

Not impressed although there are many good reviews. Be very careful to understand that you could get a minute room in the annex across the street which is nothing like the room and facilities described on the booking confirmation. The noise from the dogs in the next room was appalling and the shower was a joke. We left one hour later (having settled the bill in cash) and moved to a nearby hotel named after a wild duck where we had a brilliant stay. I don't seem to be able to drop below one star but our experience rated zero. If this doesn't match your experience then please accept that this is our honest opinion following an attempted stay that almost ruined my birthday celebration.

I've been here with 2 other people and a labrador. Pet friendly, and this is really nice. The room was clean and the bed were really good for a sleep. We had a problem with the hairdryer but they fixed it really fast. The only little negative thing was about the hot water, timed. It was really hard to take a shower with hot and we were 3 ppl that needed it. It might be useful to know that the hot water has a time..but everything was good at least.||Posto molto interessante e SONO ammessi I cani. L unica pecca e l acqua calda temporizzata..per tee persone insufficiente...o comunque bisognava saperlo subito di modo da ottimizzare I tempi. Per il resto molto buono. Ok là colazione

I stayed at this hostal for three nights, and found it comfortable with good wifi, nice large fridge, friendly staff. 24 hours free coffee/tea in the lobby. Very quiet location but only about four blocks from Birding Center and marshland. The only downside was the very large and deep puddles in the street in front, which made driving and parking hazardous, but the hostal cannot really be blamed for such conditions resulting from weather.
