One of the best cook to order Mexican restaurants in the Atlanta Buckhead area. There’s salsa is fresh and very flavorful. The service is always excellent. Lunchtime parking is not a problem at all during the evenings at times it can be a challenge. Located right off of Roswell Road fairly easy to get in and out of. Overall great experience every time I’ve been here. 💯👏🏽🐺

Took my wife last night to celebrate her birthday. 25 years ago we used to be regulars but a move to the suburbs and kids had us talking for years about going back. Last night we finally did it. She got the shrimp and spinach quesadilla - her old order and I had the seafood paella. Both very good with good service and a laid back atmosphere. Brought back many memories and we won't wait so long to go back. Great place for a relaxed meal with friends.

Absolute gem if you’re looking for a cozy, quick, authentic and reasonably priced Latin menu with plenty of menu options and vast outdoor dining. It’s a good choice if you are the only one addicted to Latin food, and want a good option to lure the rest of the family into doing what you want. I mostly go for tacos and quesadillas, but have had many other options like the sandwiches and paella. There are many options that my wife likes too such as the roasted chicken, the chicken soup—even the vegetable plate is shockingly good despite being only vegetables. Finally, the kids eat well from the kid menu and did I mention popsicles? The atmosphere is dated (1950s/1960s I guess) but clean; my only concern is the outdoor dining music volume can seem too loud for my non-Latin family’s taste at times :)

Soooo yummy every time they don’t disappoint! Service is always great as well. They really care about their costumers . Prices are also reasonable for what you get .

Nice spot to grab some tasty Latin food. We placed an in-person take out order and it took ~15 minutes for our food to be ready. Everything was cooked well, yummy, fairly priced, and the staff was pleasant. I'd recommend visiting!

I used to go here when I was in college, about 15 years ago. It is still great! We ordered appetizer guacamole (it had a hint of hot) and entrees. I got the bistec sandwich. AMAZING!! Everything was fresh and prepared wonderfully. We finished our meal with a Flan, which was even better than I remembered. I highly recommend this place.

The drink person was super nice. My server (male) had the personality of a brick. I had ropa vieja, a Cuban staple. Muy mal. I’ve had much, much better at other area Cuban restaurants.

Great location, easy in and out, with plenty of parking. Good for families - reasonably priced filling meals. This menu has Spanish paellas, Cuban barbecue, and Mexican dishes. Usually this type of menu wouldn't interest me, but I pass by it often when I'm in this area, and it's usually pretty busy. I also like the casual vibes that this place and others around it share. I had a Cuban-style half chicken with yellow rice and black beans. My granddaughter had a chicken quesadilla with the same sides. She dug right into the rice and ate most of the quesadilla which seemed quite cheesy. She also ate a good amount of my chicken. I like this style of chicken which has a strong marinade and slow roast with crunchy skin. It was good, though the breast was a bit dry, so I drenched it black beans, as one does. The black beans are solid. They leave the herbs in them and have quite a bit of flavor, good texture, saucy. The yellow rice was a bit dry, but decent flavor. It is a more reasonable price point than many restaurants in this area. For the price point, $25 for two diners, speed of service, and solid food, I'm giving this a four. If it's prices were higher or comparable to its neighbors, it'd be a three. Enjoy.

I recently visited La Fonda, and let me tell you, the food was amazing! The guacamole was so fresh and flavorful, absolutely delicious. The carne asada was everything I hoped for--perfectly cooked, tender, and seasoned just right. I also tried the burrito, and it was fantastic, packed with flavor and really hit the spot. Overall, it was an all-around great experience with good food and good vibes. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to enjoy a delicious meal and have a great time!

Location: Great. Central and well lit. I loved that we could pull and park for free! IYKYK Service: Dry and inaccurate Food: This is where it gets real good. Go look at the pics. Smh. I've eaten here at least 3x before. This is why I just live by foodie laws and write reviews. You gotta get salsa if you go it's good! And also - everything else has gotten worse each time. Tonight was the last straw. I made some jerk chicken leftovers at home and then I made time today to advocate for better quality service and food. I want my money back. What is that meat? And why does my paella taste like it's not fresh? And we specifically asked for black beans on the burrito plate so you gave us none. The chips were fresh though. We will not be back $42 literally in the trash.

I ordered the steak and it was probably a day or two old, very dry and bland. The wait staff never checked in on our table maybe one time but they should have checked in again since we ran out of drinks. My advice would be not to go to this place at all since the food like the steak is old, as well as the other items our table had received. If we wanted day old stuff we could have picked left overs from our own fridge.

la fonda is an atlantan classic. the service here wasnt great when i went it its a little slow. but the chips & salsa are always so addicting. i got the ropa vieja for the first time and it was delicious. my friend got the ensalada pescado but subbed chicken. great casual lunch/dinner place.

The food here is amazing and always consistent each time I order. I always get the same thing when I come here. The service is not the best. Once they take your order and bring your food the wait staff doesn't come back to your table usually ever. So if you need something before and when the food comes ask for it then. They are usually not the busy and they play fun music inside. They have seating indoor and outside. I

I live in the Kirkwood area and often visit the La Fonda location on Hosea Williams. It's one of my favorite places due to the great food, service, and ambiance. I always appreciate the friendly and attentive service and delicious Mexican cuisine. I've recommended this place to all my friends. On Saturday afternoon, August 24th, around 4:30 pm, my daughter and I shopped in the Sandy Springs/Buckhead area and decided to grab a quick bite. Since we've had positive experiences at the La Fonda location on Hosea Williams, we were excited to try out the La Fonda location on Roswell Road. We chose to sit outside on their patio because my daughter had her mini schnauzer with her. No one was sitting outside, and only a few customers were inside. When we sat down, the waitress greeted us with, "If you stay here with the dog, the dog must stay under the table." We complied and kept the dog under the table. The waitress seemed to have an attitude when she brought out the menu and took our orders. Another waitress brought out the food. No one checked on us to see if everything was okay. My daughter ordered a salad, and when she was almost done, she found a dead fly at the bottom of the plate. She didn't mention it to the waitress since she had eaten most of the meal. When the waitress returned, my daughter wanted to order something else. Our waitress dropped off the menu, and she never came back. It was hard not to notice the stark contrast in treatment. A white woman was seated, and immediately, two waitresses were very attentive, checking on her numerous times. This behavior only emphasized the difference in service we were receiving. I'm not one to play the race card, but I've never experienced such poor service with a side of discontent. We had to get the attention of the waitress serving the white woman to let our waitress know we wanted the check. Our waitress was uninterested in helping us, and we didn't need to order anything else. It's unfortunate how a few servers can tarnish a restaurant's reputation and ruin the dining experience. We will not return to that location, and I will advise my friend to do the same.

The paella here is great! It is also a reasonable price for the amount that you get. I called in my order and it was ready when I arrived and I arrived earlier than the estimated time for pick up. The staff was welcoming, helpful and seemed to be happy to be there. It was pretty busy but the staff was easily handling the crowd.

We enjoy a weekend hangout on the patio with margaritas. The food is awesome - we especially enjoy the Cuban sandwiches and quesadillas. Always quick service and an enjoyable meal!

Went here with my guys on 2's . 10/21/2024 Enjoyed drinks as tacos was a bit pricey . 20$ for 2 small taco bell sz tacos . Few guys i was w/ pretty sure left tip . Why this guy write his own tip on my receipt . As it wasnt much just the principle of things . So now i have to be a douche bag !

I have been coming here since they opened almost 30 years ago! Now, when I come back to Atlanta, a trip here is a MUST! They simply have the best salsa, anywhere! My favorite item is the corn and jalapeno quesadilla, but both the pollo a la parilla and the grilled veggies are both excellent! No liquor license, so it's only beer and wine, but that's ok.

This most recent review is the Roswell location but I've been to others and they were all consistent with great food, drinks and service! Good traditional Latin food is not hard to find in Atlanta if you know where to go. The menu is full of authentic cuban sandwiches, a variety of quesadillas (my favorite is the corn and jalapeño one) and delicious sides. Vegetarian Friendly Kid Friendly Indoor and Outdoor Seating

Another Saturday, another...CHEAT DAY!!! Now, ORDINARILY, I go for pizza, as my tastes fluctuate from week to week but today pizza was not going to do it I initially thought about avocado egg rolls from that place with all of the cheesecake BUT let's face it, the cheesecake place is about as played as a suede condom. No, today I wanted something different. I wanted something CHEAT DAY worthy Enter La Fonda. I absolutely love the food here! Paella is favourite of mine and they make several versions. They have a traditional, seafood and even a version with only vegetables. Practically one for every taste. You get A LOT for your money too. The so-called "Paella for Zone," easily feeds two. This is definitely true if you munch on the chips and salsa which comes with the meal. My only reason for four and not five stars, is that although it is a Latin dish, it is not well-seasoned. You have Miami it up just a bit. I added some Saxon de Goya and it came alive! Otherwise, it was worth every penny. Is it the best paella that I have ever had? A hard "Nuh-uh," would be my answer. It is however, some really good paella. Check them out for yourself and be the judge.

Having a great dinner in Atlanta was a challenge as in Downtown the wait was horrible, but in La Fonda Latina it was not. Outstanding service. Latin music playing and amazing food summarize the evening. The guacamole and Chips started a gourmet journey that looked really well. At the table we enjoy Spanish Chorizo quesadilla, enchiladas and Paella from the Sea. Great choice, as the paella was as if I went to Spain to order this exquisite plate. Totally recommend this local restaurant, you will not regret getting here.

So I really only have had tacos here. But they are all pretty good. The beef is good, the chicken is pretty good as well. It comes with chips and salsa, and rice and beans. The chicken is usually pretty juicy, not dry. But you probably do need the salsa on it too help it along. But I still go back and enjoy it.

La Fonda is one of our families long time favorite local restaurants and Bis on our regular dining rotation. It is a Cuban themed restaurant offering a variety of Cuban and Latin meals. It's a great place to take your family as well as visiting friends. I've tried most dishes the menu but settled in the Tilapia enchiladas and paella as my "go to" favorites. My wife likes the paella, fish tacos and the tilapia salad. You seat yourself and grab any empty table inside or out. The service is very quick and chips, food and drinks come out quickly. They are generous with the complimentary chips and salsa which is so good and addictive that you need to lace yourself or you won't save room for the main course. They serve two draft beers Dos Equis amber and lager and are famous for their marguerites. La Fonda has the formula down - service is good, food is great, wait staff are friendly and efficient and the place is always jumping to a Cuban beat. Anyone thinking of opening a new restaurant should stop by and watch them in action and do what they do.

Tasty food, decent service for how extremely busy it was, and it was nice to have the doors open when we went (because it was beautiful weather and also for COVID precautions since two in our party were under 5 and at higher risk). I got 3 pork carnitas tacos. It came on a plate of rice and beans, which was a nice complement to the tacos. The pork tacos were fantastic, especially with the slightly crispy burnt ends and the house sauce. So delicious! They even put the sauce on the side even though I didn't specifically request that. They did that because I asked if it was spicy (I was sharing a taco with my kiddo). Worked out great because she did think it was too spicy, but she has a 4 year old's palate... I really loved the sauce! I'm glad my friends took us here for dinner! If you're coming on a weekend with nice weather, like we did, you might have to wait for a patio table (or take an indoor table like we did), but it was worth it for me!

I am writing this review as I sit at La Fonda. The waitress was awful. My food arrived cold. I keep giving them a pass but no more. la Fonda is just Horrible!!!

Quick fuel stop before a Saturday evening concert at Chastain Park. Not busy at 5pm. Took a while to get served but when we did, staff were attentive and food was excellent and very reasonably priced. I had veggie enchiladas and my companion had corn and jalapeño quesadilla. Came with salsa and tortilla chips. A cut above your average neighbourhood Mexican

We hadn't been to La Fonda in a while, and I wanted to try something different there. Parking was a challenge to find in the free parking lot that it shares with its sister restaurant, Fellini's Pizza, but I drove around La Fonda Latina twice and finally got a space that had opened up. We walked in, and stood there, waiting for someone to seat us. After a few minutes, a server walking by told R in Spanish that we could seat ourselves at any table that we preferred, so we claimed a table for ourselves. A server came to our table and dropped off a couple of menus, which I think are kind of busy, with various Spanish, Mexican and Cuban foods listed. While we were waiting for our server to come back, an employee brought us a bowl of nice tasting corn tortilla chips and a bowl of salsa. When our server came back, we both ordered the pollo a la parradilla, a grilled Cuban dish of a half chicken marinated in mojo and glazed, grilled over hickory wood, and served with yellow rice and black beans. My four pieces of grilled chicken were on the dry side, and, for almost every bite of chicken that I took, I had to eat some of the rice and/or the black beans, or took a sip of water, just so that I could add some moisture to swallow the chicken easier. I have to admit that the chicken had delicious seasoning, though, but it was overcooked. I enjoyed the rice and the beans more than the chicken. During our meal, various employees stopped by our table to see if we needed anything. This was an overall OK meal.

A defining restaurant of my childhood and a must-go anytime I come back to Atlanta. The queso. The bocadillo con bistec. They all tasted so much better after a win at NYO.

The food was great! The Margaritas were strong. But we all know the chips and salsa set the tone and the chips were hot and stale..

Amazing food and awesome service. The half chicken, however you get it, is wonderful. The enchiladas are delicious as are the rice and beans.

I dined in at the Roswell Rd location. The Paella was horrible. Old chicken, dried shrimps, and a couple of pieces of Chorizo were in the cast iron skillet. I have been coming to this location for about 7 years. The food has been going down hill for the 6-8 months. I will try the Howell Mill and Ponce locations.

I specifically choose "latin" restaurants because I want a home cooked meal. What I don't expect is to be served what tasted like Black canned beans and pre made bagged rice. Disgusting, seriously.... If I wanted canned food, I would do it myself. I don't like giving 1* but how exactly can you mess up rice and beans!! How! If you cannot home cook all of your menu fresh to order, then it's a no for me. Never, ever will eat here again.

We are regulars here and they forgot to insert our order and never apologized. Very disappointing service.

The service was reasonably fast for how busy the restless and the food was ok I got the Cuban o busted and it also came with rice and black beans which weren't bad. The sandwich was ok and I added some hot sauce to give it some more flavor, overall not the best place for a $15 meal

Bad service, 2 table's 2 wait staff, no reason for it to be so awful. Great food. The cook was doing great work. This was our original place to go years ago so we go every time in town for nostalgia reasons.

Food is good. Service is horrible and has been for years. And it's getting worse. They could make twice as much by paying attention to their patrons, replenishing drinks, and offering appetizers and dessert. I have often wanted to buy more drinks and dessert, but alas, there is just no service. They don't even reliably bring the check. I've been coming here once a year for 25 years. Not sure why i keep coming back. And the sound system, loud and tinny.

This has been one of my favorites since the early 90s, but my loyalty has been challenged the last couple of years (please don't blame COVID). The food quality has gone down hill and some times tastes like left-overs and the service is horrible. This review is hard to write but someone needs to know!!!

Haven't been to LaFonda in 6-7 years. Went with some friends before concert at Chastain. Was early so had complete pick of seating. Being so warm sat inside. Service was mixed bag. Prompt drink and food order but not enough servers to handle to pick up and busier end of meal portion. Had to repeatedly request bill and assistance from others done so grumpily. Food was still good. Ordered queso lafonda, chicken quesadilla, shrimp and spinach quesadillas and tacos carnitas with yellow rice. Food was fresh and pretty tasty. Ran out of chips with queso order but no refill as our server was humping it over other tables and takeout. Also tried the sangrita - Meh. Grateful arrival before evening rush or would have been more frustrated. Sure will be back again and retry another day in near future.

My company ordered food from them but a lot of them didn't like their dishes from tacos and the paella is overly salty. My boss and I just tossed it. Good prices though...

I've lived in the area for several years now- this is by far my favorite Mexican/ Latin style food anywhere nearby. You can beat the quality! It's delicious EVERY time. And prices are very affordable. It's seat yourself- which isn't explained anywhere- so if you're new, just a heads up. Also, service is very slow and you're not going to get much other then a "what do you want" - but it's worth it in my opinion!

Stumbled upon La Fonda Latina thanks to a flat tire. Thank god for that flat tire. The food was mega legit - we had the cubano and the shrimp tacos. The sando came on fresh, perfectly toasted bread, and had that perfect balanced thinness that makes cubanos iconic. The shrimp tacos were grilled to perfection, with a light shred and the perfect amount of dressing. Fun music, attentive staff, and a breezy patio topped off the perfection.

Fun atmosphere good food. Standard good service. It is very casual. Usually busy on weekends.

I love la Fonda- happy to go there every week. Love the tacos and quesadilla- can't go wrong with anything really. The salsa is some of the best in Atlanta too. One of my fav places in Atlanta!! Sometimes the service is not fabulous, so that's why i only gave 4 stars.

La Fonda offers Mexican food and my experience here was very average from the food to the service. I can't even recall what I ordered because it simply wasn't memorable. It's a good spot to get a quick bite but it's not a noteworthy dining experience on any level.

Always a quick and easy go-to on a Sunday afternoon. Food came out relatively quick and was piping hot. Chicken was seasoned to perfection!

ENSALATA PESCADA One of the best salads ever created, If you love salmon , Do NOT Hesitate. A very down to earth eatery, with absolutely scrumptious, delicious Spanish/Cuban leanings, I think; Very affordable, you can't go wrong with any of their paellas. Sitting outside is also very enjoyable and relaxing; You may see the occasional Buckhead ______; but don't let that stop u from loading up on their cheese and guacamole dips. And let's not forget the camarones. Camarones! Who doesn't love the Camarones!?!?

This is a neat neighborhood-style Mexican restaurant located right off Roswell Road. The atmosphere is definitely the highlight of the meal. The food takes a backseat in this dining experience, but I may keep this as a convenient meetup spot for a night out with friends.

Did a farewell dinner with co workers.. the menu looked great and was conveniently located off Roswell Rd. We called ahead due to our large party size and they were eager to accommodate. We got there after most of our party had been seated and had to flag down our server to order drinks.. then after sitting for 15 minutes we had to wave him down again to order food.. only to have him leave before taking other people at the table's order.. our food was brought out in a to go bag.... Even though We were eating there... they took it back and brought it back out in a skillet... The Paella Del Mar was tasty and had many types of seafood in it... scallops, Mussels, shrimp and salmon... The margaritas and company made up for the sporadic and strange service...I would like to think they might have been short staffed and this wasn't their usual service... the food was good...I would still try it!

Very good Cuban food with excellent service at a great price. All the favorites and great paella in a very nice setting with outdoor seating.

This place has gone downhill. Steak came out dry and grey, maduros came out burnt to a crisp...and they actually served the food as if nothing was wrong. Really disappointed to see how far this place has fallen.

Yummy Latin/Spanish/Mexican food! This is a local Atlanta chain restaurant. This place has plenty of free parking. They serve complimentary chips and salsa. We ordered the guac as well to start and it was delicious. I ordered 2 tilapia fish tacos which came with rice and beans. They were delicious! Service was good. Highly recommend

My wife and I love a good paella; this was absolutely delicious. After changing my mind about having tacos, we ventured to La Fonda Latina and had a wonderful meal. The margaritas were on point also. We will be back.

Great spot, we loved our visit! They were busy and rightfully so.. they've got limited space, so be patient with them, we saw the wait staff hustling, literally. Drinks were good, a margarita pitcher was solid. Food was good too, very consistent and good portions... 5 stars. We had to wait a little bit for our table of 6, but enjoy the vibe, the music and queso - you'll be good. Exceptional service from the small crew running that place

The food was so good! I love how many options there are, and how fresh everything tastes. The salsa and queso are CHEFS KISS! So good. Got the chicken tacos and they were also amazing. Definitely recommend!

Went based on the reviews, but was gravely disappointed as the food and service were garbage. Overpriced trashed food that arrived at the table cold and tasted like it was massed produced and slapped on a plate since it arrived 5 min after we ordered it. Was bland and simply horrible. Will NEVER go here again. People who ranked this place high must not eat latin food a lot to know what it should taste like. Also, luke warm or food served cold is a red flag. Cuban sandwich which sb pressed like a panini arrived at our table with unmelted cheese. Wtf? If you want great authentic Cuban food go to Havana Sandwich shop on Buford Hwy, great Mexican Agavero Cantina in Midtown, great Venezuelan Arepa Mia in avondale estates, best Spanish Bulla Gastrobar on 11th St Atlanta. La fonda latina should be closed. They know damn well they dont eat the crap they cook for patrons at home for themselves. This is straight up basura.
