La Fontaine Boutique Hotel by The Oyster Collection

We wanted somewhere to relax at the end of our trip to South Africa which had been pretty full on and decided to spend our last four days in Franschhoek. La Fontaine was suggested by Audley Travel who put together our itinerary.||Hotel was perfect for us. Wide choice of excellent restaurants and great shopping plus several places of interest. We could walk to all of it and enjoyed the weekly market as well as learning about the history of the Huguenots. Franschoek is set in a breathtaking part of this amazing country and of course you are spoilt for choice when it comes to wine tasting. The wine tram is available for bookings if you do not wish to drive. There are many wine lodges which can easily be reached by taxi.||The staff here simply cannot do enough for you. We were welcomed with a generous glass of fizz and cake (every afternoon there is free tea and cake on offer), such a nice touch. Breakfast is superb with the freshest of fruit platters, a wonderful selection of cold meats, cereal, yogurt, breads etc plus beautifully cooked to order hot food.||Little touches are important, the turn down service with a chocolate on the pillow, beautifully soft and fragrant towels and sun tan lotion available by the pool. ||Everyone here is so helpful and genuinely kind. We really appreciated being able to relax before our journey home in a lovely room where we had every amenity. No extra charge for this unlike so many other establishments.||Thank you to you all for making our trip to the most beautiful country a truly special one. We hope to see you all again, sooner rather than later. 11 out of 10!

Sandra and I arrived at La Fontaine late in the afternoon on our first day in Franschheok, after a big 5 days in Cape Town we were ready for some R&R, well we recieved that from the moment we arrived. Kim's team could not have been more attentive to detail. Our host Kim went 200% above what anyone could have expected and helped us with every request. We finished our stay with them today feeling like "family" Great place to stay, relax and enjoy the surroundings. Had a " in house 1/2 day wine your with Karlof that we will remenber for many years. I cannot say enough great things about this hotel. ||From the moment we checked in, we were treated like royalty. Check-in was a seamless process, followed by a welcome drink in the beautiful lobby. The room was huge, and stunning, with a fantastic patio. The hot water bottle in the bed as part of turndown service was a nice surprise! And the breakfast was very nice.||But what really set this place apart was the service. Every person we encountered was friendly and helpful. They really went out of their way to make every guest feel special. And as a final treat, without us asking they provided us with to-go coffees and very nice breakfast boxes to take with us on the morning of our checkout, when we had to leave early.||My only regret about staying here is that we weren't there longer.

This hotel is so wonderful and charming. We travelled here for 3 nights and planned to move to another location for 2 and then fly home to the UK. ||We were not ready to go home and leave this wonderful town and region so changed our flight and booked another night here at La Fontaine.||Everything here is special from the service, the wonderful staff, the welcome, the breakfast, food, and beautiful rooms and public spaces. The small touches like hot water bottles in bed after cold days and fresh homemade cakes served for afternoon tea set this place apart.||We are packing to leave this morning and are already missing it here. Do not hesitate and book this little gem for your holiday! You will not regret it.

Such a stunning property! Absolutely gorgeous rooms with incredible decor and facilities throughout the hotel.||Such a warm welcoming upon arrival and throughout our stay.||Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff we attentive and knowledgeable of the area.||The breakfast was fantastic, with so much choice and high quality choice. Eating food in front of the fire looking out over the courtyard was perfect.||Two pools (one heated) were lovely additions with ample loungers around the pools and in the gardens.||The location couldn’t be better. One street behind the main town so 2 minutes walk to the shops, restaurants and bars, however still so peaceful and quiet. ||I would 100% stay again and would recommend to anybody.

The hotel is perfectly situated, close to the city’s main attractions, restaurants, and shops, yet tucked away in a quiet area that offers peace and privacy. The room was spacious and clean with comfortable beds and plush linens. This hotel included a well maintained pool and great breakfast. The service was exemplary, with friendly staff always willing to help.

Superb boutique hotel with attention to every little detail.|Incredible room cleanliness and we just felt at home here.|Welcome drink in the bar area was just too comfortable. Food amazing....only breakfast provided but what quality and choice. If only all hotels could be this relaxing and stress free.

I love this hotel! The rooms are so comfortable and the public rooms are absolutely charming - beautiful fabrics, comfy furniture, great fire on cool nights, etc. The breakfast is as good as I've had anywhere with every detail perfect right down to the beautiful foam drawings on the cappuccinos. I would have to list every staff member if I list one - they know your name, always helpful and going above and beyond. Don't hesitate to book it!
