The famous fountain is truly emblematic of Chambéry: a perfectly average monument, glorified in tourist brochures as if it were the eighth wonder of the world.
Every year, thousands of hopeful visitors come to admire it, and leave wondering if they somehow missed the actual attraction. Much like with the city itself...
As a monument of pure mediocrity, I might have given it three stars, but I’ll be generous and give it only two, mainly because the surroundings are so charmingly filthy, probably thanks to the local drunks enjoying their daily relaxation sessions in the nearby park.
