What a sweet shop! The staff were so charming and knowledgeable. The sandwiches we got were fantastic. We ended up buying some extra cheese to bring to friends. Very french experience, 10/10

Perfect option to place a group order for a 40 person birthday party at Presidio Tunnel tops. Wonderful responsive ordering process over the phone, and they helped out with catering travel bags, super helpful. The sandwiches and salads were a total hit.

The marina location makes the best salads in the city! Whether I DoorDash them or order them on site, the ingredients are always fresh and so flavorful. This is a must try!

Very solid Italian sandwich. Fresh and tasty burrata, delicious, fresh acme roll and prosciutto...pretty nice treat after a bike ride. I got a another one because I had earned it!

This place transported me back to times in France when my family ordered cheese in fromageries, so much so that I almost forgot I was in SF. Didn't try dine-in, but for shopping, the selection of French cheeses was extensive and delicious. The thing that really sold me was the staff though, who were super French in the best sense. They were super friendly and greeted me upon entering, gave recommendations personalized to taste, and were super knowledgeable in each cheese's taste and texture, and accompanying food pairing.

Not just a cheese shop! Amazing charcuterie, well price gourmet sandwiches and BEST SALADS! The price is unbelievable for the quality! Nice employees and Dylan is a star!

This Cheese shop is the best i know in the Bay area! Dylan and Morgane are fantastic cheese experts who take their time helping us pick the right cheeses. I organize events for a community of 2,450+ French speakers (hundreds of French people), and La Fromagerie is now our provider for our cheese tastings and cheese dinners (e.g., raclette)!

This is a cute little French cheese shop that serves sandwiches and salads. California sandwich: B Turkey breast, fontal cheese. Ciabatta bread. Sandwich was pretty decent, easy to eat so they got the textures right. For the price it's a good value. Side salad: C+ It was a kale salad that was just okay, the dressing tasted good though. Caviar chips: B- Interesting flavor of chips, I've never seen it before. Would say it wasn't my favorite flavor but the potato chip quality is good and crispy.

Well, there's no better eateries that I could find than to get cheesy with La Fromagerie during the National Sandwich Month. Why settle for a more flavorful meal when I was about to try what's healthy and balanced during lunchtime? Pictured below was Pyrenees grilled cheese infusion sandwich with tossed kale salad on the side. The toasted bread was never hard to chew, nor did they come apart when stuck together with the combined melted cheeses. The cheese itself, as pungent as it's nutty, never ceased to amaze me. The quality of the cave aged and others made me think that they're my best cheese selection for the happy hour during the Paris Olympics. What more shall I add for la petit cheese shop? Its short, narrow space surely makes up with many customers getting in line to purchase the variety of cheese. Three cheers to women owned!

This cheese shop is lovely. Our friends recommended them for a cheese board and it turned out great. The shop offers a wide variety of cheese, charcuterie, bread and other garnishes. We opted for a combo of three cheeses and two meats. They package it up beautifully on a board that you can keep which is fun! It really makes for a great contribution to a dinner party. They also have a small selection of wines, crackers, jams and other goodies. The service was super welcoming and attentive. The shop is woman owned and French owned too! Everything about it is charming.

I think this place is new....or at least new to me and very welcome addition to Chestnut street. Super cute place with a real French cheese shop vibe. Decor is very aesthetic without being over the top. The cheese (and the bread) are the real stars of this show. Tons of great cheese from France...Brie, raclette, goat, and on. All of it great. We tried a lot and we liked it all. The sandwiches are made to order and the Parisienne was amazing. I mean it was loaded with butter, ham, flavorful cheese, cornichon, and mustard piled on a French baguette. Delicious. They even have seating out side. The service was good and not good...felt like France but no one was rude . Check it out.

The cutest cheese shop! The staff (women owned and led) were incredible - I was under the weather and had no voice so I kindly asked for my items to go which was no problem for them. If I stayed and tried in person, I'm sure I would have enjoyed a sample of every single cheese in the shop! A huge variety of cheeses are available - any type of brie you want, you can find here. They have fun flavors with truffle too. The options are truly endless. You can also get made to order sandwiches or breakfast, which I definitely would like to come back for! As a charcuterie enthusiast trying to grow my own brand, I'd love to come back and support locally for my supplies. If you want to picnic with your purchases, you can also check out their extensive selection of boxed goods/crackers and jams in the back. They also have a good selection of wine! The prices are high, but what isn't in San Francisco. You're paying for good quality. If you're concerned about the price of cheese, you may be better suited at Trader Joe's or Costco. A little gem we discovered. We were just walking by after lunch and decided to walk in & check it out. Everything looked so good we had to order a sandwich. Glad we did, YUM. The person working was also super kind & friendly and easy to talk to, which I really appreciate. It's a nice modern shop, very clean & organized with delicious goodies. - Pyrenees grilled cheese: so satisfying. Simple & delicious with quality ingredients. Bread was fresh & nice, good cheese and arugula was fresh. So good. We will definitely be back for more!

Nice French sandwich, salad, and cheese shop. The two owners are from Lyon, France. I got the Parisienne baguette..and she gave me the rest of the baguette at the end of the day. I got a cheese cone for Yelp event. I had had the samples at the other Yelp event. The cheese pros from France.

This women owned business gives such amazing vibes. The 2 women owners are so French in the best way, & it shows in their cheese & meat!!! I got 8oz of the Copa & the last slice of their homemade triple cream Brie with truffle in the middle, both of which are so delicious. They gave us samples of cheeses that we were asking about, & gave us the last croissant of the day as an extra treat!

We ordered the Mancha salad (with duck, figs, and massaged kale), a charcuterie board, Chardonnay, and a Blood Orange Lorina. The owners were so sweet and thoughtful with our order and even offered to switch out the cheeses we didn't enjoy--of course there was no need for that since they were all delicious. Charcuterie board is fire AND you get to keep the board w their logo. 60$ got us a 3 different cheeses, fruit, 3 types of meats and crackers --- thereby satisfying our hungry party of 3 very nicely. Well done

I finally had a chance this morning to visit the new cheese shop while I was running an errand. I love brie cheese, and the triple cream brie with fig jam in the display case caught my attention. They are playing French music and I recognized the song that was featured in Emily in Paris & I started singing along. The salesperson (Morgan) was surprised that I knew the song, and I told her that it was featured in Emily in Paris. We started talking about the show, food & fashion and cheese, of course. Morgan was really helpful with my cheese selection & was kind enough to give me a little more fig jam to complement the brie cheese when serving. At the checkout counter, I noticed almond croissants, which I love & bought for tomorrow's breakfast (petit dejeuner pour demain). I'm happy to have an artisan cheese shop as an addition to our neighborhood. I'm also happy to have someone to practice my French with. Yummy cheese & warm, friendly service can't be beat! Update: I enjoyed the Brie cheese with fig jam & light wafers as a pre-dinner snack. The Brie was buttery smooth, mild flavored & fig jam added a touch of sweetness & rounded out the flavor. I ate the almond croissant for breakfast (toasted it in the counter oven) and it was buttery & flaky, with a generous amount of almond paste. Perfection!

I met Morgan the owner today and her mom which is visiting from France and helping out at the shop. I had a couple sandwiches made and I loved the French vibe. I'll definitely be back. You can order at the counter (which takes a bit of extra time) or you can order online or call the order in and your food will be ready when you arrive. It's cool that our community can support something as eclectic as a fromagerie right on Chestnut Street. Go experience a bit of French culture!

Had to follow up with a second review! We love this place and the two lovely women that run it! They are always so kind and have the best recommendations! We saw a sign for happy four charcuterie boards and decided we needed to try! The cheeses were amazing! We were also surprised by the amount of food given the reasonable price! Do yourself a favor and sit down, enjoy a cheese board, and people watch on Chestnut :)

100% recommend visiting this charming shop. Absolutely divine sandwiches and very knowledgeable and helpful staff to assist with cheese selections. A very good variety of cheese to choose from as well. The charcuterie boards and bouquets looked beautiful as well. If I lived in SF I would go every day, alas another reason to visit friends and family.

We ordered sandwiches online, and then ended up sitting at one of the tables they have out front when we arrived to pick them up. The sandwiches were delicious- super fresh and great flavors. While we were eating, people were picking up beautiful cheese boards, which you can order online, too. Great service and decent prices, especially for the quality and the neighborhood.

This is my absolute favorite place for a weekday lunch in the Marina. All of the ingredients are so fresh and everything I have ordered has been amazing! My favorite is the Californien (love the habanero mango hot sauce) with a side salad. They really don't skimp on the side salad, both in terms of size and toppings (figs, pears, pumpkin seeds, manchego, etc.) and the prices are reasonable too. The staff is so friendly as well. Cannot recommend this place enough!

The Alps grilled cheese is amazing. The staff was wonderful as well. Le fromage grillé des Alpes est incroyable. Le personnel était merveilleux aussi. Un endroit idéal pour le fromage ou le déjeuner.

I loved their cheese, salads, sandwiches, and wonderful people at the counter. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich, I loved that it was served with butter and cornichon like in Paris. Bread was very fresh and crispy.

Stopped by a week ago for the duck sandwich; It was quite good. They have a number of breads you can select from for your sandwich. I chose the croissant. They also have a large selections of French Cheese. Stop by if you're in the area.

Lovely French ladies run this adorable new shop with an amazing selection of the most delicious sandwiches, cheeses, & salads. The grilled cheeses are my favorite, who knew a grilled cheese needed 3 different types of cheese plus yummy extras. I've tried2/3, & they are top!!! My fav is the duck salad, amazing, perfect ingredients, pear, dried fig, chesse bits, hint of mustard...caprese prosciutto sando is awesome. So far everything I've tried is perfect. You can get a cheese board prepared for a party there, you can buy cheese bites, & I hear they are adding wine & coffee. They also have croissants. An A+ addition to the neighborhood!

We have a new French bakery in the neighborhood and it rocks. I used to buy fresh French bread in the neighborhood from 2 places but they are gone. However, we now have a far better replacement. Excellent breads, cheeses and breakfast and lunch sandwiches- a welcomed addition to Chestnut Street! Thank you!

Great staff and delicious sandwiches! I've tried almost all of them. The duck stands out as the most unique but I would order them all again. Give it a try, you won't regret it!

Morgane and Dylan first are such a delight and bring so much to the Chestnut shopping area with La Fromagerie. My wife and I became instant friends with them and share a love for cheese and French cuisine. The service is genuine to offer an experience, not just a place to pick up a few items or a sandwich. The space is comfortable with just the right ambiance and complete with pastries, condiments and wines to pair with delicious cheeses. I highly recommend you stop by, oh and check the happy hour cheese tray and wine specials from 3-6 pm daily. Cheers.

SO happy La Fromagerie opened a Marina location! It has been a few years since I frequented their FiDi location, but it was just as delicious as I remember. The staff in there is so incredibly welcoming and nice. They let me sample several cheeses while I waited for my sandwich and I ended up adding a piece of their truffle Gouda to my order to enjoy at home. I got the Le Toulouse with a kale side salad. Adding this to my chestnut lunch rotation!

Excellent 10/10 So many places that are so commercial -mediocre food filled with sugar in the marina. Refreshing to have a high quality, authentic, delicious place on chestnut to add to mix. Encourage everyone to go!

This is hands down the best place to get lunch in the marina. I can't get enough. Not only are the sandwiches incredible, but the cheese spread has me coming back for more, more, more. The employees are so friendly and make sure that your experience in there is perfect! Great conversations and friendly smiles make my day each time I visit.

Great sandwiches. My favorites are the Italiane w fresh burrata and le toulouse w duck and fig. I always get the side salad with kale and pears. So good and very healthy.

I lived in France and this shop is on par with any establishment in France. The sandwiches are sublime. The cheese is the finest at a reasonable price. And like most of France, the people are friendly. Bon Ap.

Seems like hyperbole, but they make the best grilled cheese sandwiches in the city. The staff is wonderful as well.

Had a delicious cheese/meat charcuterie tray prepared for us at lunch today. The quality of the food is evident and the pride in which it was put together was evident. I wish they had a few more beverage choices. A sparkling water with fruit juice would have been perfect. We'll be back.

I had the best experience at La Fromagerie today. First of all I felt like I had walked into a cheese shop in Paris. Second they have a great selection of cheese and sandwiches. Lastly, and most importantly for me, it is a gluten friendly. My wife and I both have Celiac. When we told the owners, they were very knowledgeable of how to protect our purchase of cheese and ham from any cross contamination of gluten. The meat cutter was cleaned before she cut our meat and cheese, she also laid down butcher paper on the counter to further protect our order from any cross contamination. The owners said they are looking for a quality gluten free bread and hope to provide that option soon. This place is the real deal, you will not be disappointed.

Great addition to the Marina and a must-visit spot for any cheese lover! The owners are super friendly and knowledgeable, they have a great selection of cheeses, delicious sandwiches and salads all made with great ingredients and priced fairly. I've been back multiple times already since their opening last month, it's a great spot for quick lunches, picnics in the Presidio / Crissy Field or cheese parties. Highly recommend giving it a try, you won't be disappointed!
