A MAGICAL, must - do exhibit in Paris.
You don't have to like Dior, or even love fashion to appreciate this glimpse into the Maison Christian Dior's universe. And any appreciation for fashion and or fashion history would make this just that much better.
The exhibit is adjacent to the famous storefront, at 30 Avenue Montaigne. It's a magical walkthrough of 70 years of Dior's history in 13 parts. It starts with Christian Dior's childhood and personal life, includes hundreds of dresses in the flesh, and is completed with the succession of his brand, by designers like Raf Simons and Maria Grazia. And at the very end of the immaculate collection is an exquisite little cafe that is perfectly glamorous, haute couture, and Parisian.
We purchased our tickets online a couple weeks before visiting and many time slots were already gone. So book ahead! And as is the case for all museums/galleries, the earlier you go the less busy and therefore the more enjoyable. I think the only downside to this experience is that they do let in a lot of people at a time and the space is quite tight and the fonts are quite small. The "Dior" ness attracts a lot of people who aren't interested in actually appreciating or learning, and soooo the audience can be a little disruptive to the magic.
