I was trying to find local restaurant going off the Main Street but I found myself in a very tourist oriented restaurant. The service was not bad, and speaks good English. I understand the frustration of some commenting about the obligatory tip. I’m definitely pro tip and would have tipped regardless the service but this way just seems not so classy. Specially 15% adding the coperto can be confusing for tourists, who seem to be the target. What I didn’t like is leaving the place hungry after spending 30 p.p. The prices are also pretty high, pizzas not being available when I visited made me choose a 16€ Caesar salad that wouldn’t necessarily make me come back. Nothing outrageous bad I just may not be the target.

Had a great gluten free pasta here. I was given a separate gluten free menu that was just as big as the regular one so I assume every product could be made gluten free. They also designate a little label to show which plates are gluten free. The pasta was amazing. I had the truffle carbonara. The bread was more similar to other gluten free products - dry and dense. The service was slow and I had to remind them about the bread, but staff was nice otherwise.

Great place with a lot of options for gluten free meals. Very tasty and the staff is friendly. I don’t mind eating al-dente, but the gluten free pasta should have been cooked more…

Great place to eat next to our hotel. Tomato basil bruschetta was delicious, carbonara pasta yum, margarita wood fired pizza good (though sauce a little drippy) and tiramisu delicious. Service was fast and very friendly. Waiter noticed I was choking on a bit of bread and came banged my back to dislodge it. Glad attentive. I loved they asked if we had any food allergies like gluten free. We don’t but it’s rare to find places that cater to that.

15% for service charge plus 1.5euro it’s CRAZY Doesn’t show on the menu about the service charge yes does with the cutlery charge table (1.5euro) including 100gr bread(we didn’t got the bread) The service was veeery rude you can tell she dint want to be there, no hello or anything just come to the table and say “what do you want “ no hello , no how are you nothing. We say my girlfriend have a GLUTEN ALLERGY, and put my main (pizza) on the middle of the table with no saying a word her dinner came 5-10 min after mine Take the plates back again no words how was the food or anything, we ask for the bill she launched like a flying disc again no words saying we wait to pay and ear from another table and waitress to pay by card have to be inside (thank you for letting us know) and you charge us 15% service charge for this service? She was doing the same with are next table wasn’t only to us so I understand the bad reviews

Fenomenal food, we went to eat there twice. The owner is a sweetheart. The atmosphere was lovely, it was on a side road so it was quiet enough, but also lively enough.

gluten free/coeliac - this restaurant had plenty of options (seperate menu + cooking area). So was grateful to have safe options. However, the pizza was far from one of the best we’ve had in Italy. Tasted like a storebrought base, much like a pita bread base. Overpriced - pizza ended up being 17€ when cover+service fee added. I wouldn’t go back personally.

La Gallina Bianca in Rome appears to be a quintessential tourist spot, with its charm and location seemingly tailored for visitors. Nestled in the bustling heart of the city, it surprisingly lacks the typical crowd even on a Friday night. This makes it a haven for those looking to dine without the usual hustle and bustle. The ambiance, while cozy, reflects a space that caters predominantly to tourists. Upon being seated, I ordered a glass of wine, which turned out to be quite disappointing. The serving size was minuscule, barely fitting the description of a "glass." It felt more like a sampler than a proper serving, which was underwhelming, especially in a city renowned for its generous wine culture. For those following a vegan diet, La Gallina Bianca presents a challenging dining experience. The menu is heavily skewed towards pizza, with virtually no vegan alternatives. However, I appreciated the staff’s transparency about their cooking practices, as they openly stated that even dry pasta is cooked in the same water as non-vegan items, leading to possible contamination. This upfront honesty is commendable, although it does little to enhance the vegan dining options. The pizza, the star of the menu, is decent but not extraordinary. It serves its purpose but doesn’t leave a lasting impression. The toppings and crust are satisfactory but lack the wow factor one might expect from an authentic Roman pizza. It's enjoyable, but nothing that will linger in your memory long after your visit. I also tried the grilled vegetables, which were a letdown. For the price, the portion size was surprisingly small. The vegetables were well-cooked and seasoned but did not justify the cost. This made the dish feel overpriced and underwhelming. Overall, La Gallina Bianca offers a mixed experience. It provides a quiet escape from the city's crowds, but the food and portions leave much to be desired. If you're looking for a reliable but not exceptional meal in a tranquil setting, this might be the place. However, for those seeking a memorable culinary adventure, it might be best to explore other options in Rome. Three stars for the peaceful ambiance and straightforward service, but there's ample room for improvement in the dining experience.
