La Garganta Restaurante y Hotel

I was sceptical about having lunch here due to the reviews, HOWEVER, I cannot fault the excellent, efficient service, especially by our camarera Rocio. Very attentive and with a pleasant persona. My food was very tasty (pork ribs with black beer sauce). No complaints from my accompanying friends. For the quality of the establishment, it's unique location with the views, the price was acceptable, not excessive. The premises were spotless, staff cleaning all the time in various locations. Lunch reservations are advisable because the Caminito does get very busy. We were there at 12.00 for food which was no problem. Thanks to all the staff that we dealt with.

Great hotel with best location for chilling after a day of hiking the Caminito. The room was clean and comfortable with working air conditioning in late November. Food and service were good. The entire property is decorated and appointed so uniquely with history and thoughtful craftsmanship. Loved the onsite private parking since street parking near the hotel is almost impossible.

Nice hotel with lovely pool and sunbed area. Staff very welcoming and all have great English and Miquel was most informative even prior to us landing. Our room was comfortable with great views albeit compact. Food is very good and Ana and the team were most attentive. We booked the tour of the Caminito Del Rey with the hotel and their guide Lucia and she didn't disappoint. She was full of knowledge and FULL of fun - Lucia definitely made our trip of the Caminito Del Rey. She is a huge asset to your hotel. 🥰 Catherine and Mick - Ireland 🇮🇪

We had lunch here after walking the caminito. I wasn't expecting much since many meals arranged by tour companies aren't great, but this place was wonderful. The goat stew was so flavorful! The prices were not as inflated as I expected being next to a big tourist attraction. A nice place to have a good meal after a beautiful walk.

Booked here and included the Caminito tour as well. Great hotel with lovely pool and sunbed area. Staff very welcoming and our room was comfortable with great views. Food pretty good. Glad we booked the tour - made it easy just jumped on the coach and the guide did the rest.

Prompt waitress service however our ticket was missed by the chef and we waited over one hour for food. Quality of food was very poor regardless of the cost. Ordered an Iberian ham platter which arrived with 8 pieces of ham, a tini bowl of puréed tomatoes, and 3 mini breadsticks in a pack - all were broken. This alone cost 17 euros!

This restaurant was recommended to me as our usual local one was shut and honestly I was unbelievably disappointed 😞 The staff were nice, the service was good and the location was very nice but the food was awful. I don't think I have ever had such incredibly bland and tasteless food in Spain. Mine tasted of nothing and my partners tasted of oil and nothing else. As it was the only restaurant visit on our short holiday I was gutted that we chose to eat there. Will not be going back.

An amazing hotel with very modern rooms that look like they've been carved out of the rocky hill it sits on! Hi tech bathroom with ambient coloured lighting (you choose the colours!) ...but you need an engineering background to work out the many controls and switches, and I never did get the shower to work as I wanted.||The extra shower over the bath didn't drain away very well, but ironically, when I tried to have a bath (double bath size!) the plug wouldn't work, so I gave up.||The pool, gardens and incredible views just make your jaw drop ...||The food was very good (we had the three course set meal each night) but the serving staff were much too quick at rushing away before you got a chance to ask what you were eating (no menu provided) ....or any question really.||Right next door to the Caminito Del Rey gorge walk entrance (not for the faint-hearted!).

The food tasted horrible, chicken was over cooked, dry and tasteless. Chimichurri sauce ... had no idea what they meant by that. Hummus was ok. They just take advantage of the attraction in the aria, train station near by. Not sure who would go eat there..... definitely, won't recommend it. Service was slow, waitress was forgetful, had to wait for everything.

Gorgeous view at this hotel. I didn't actually stay here but had some lunch. They get 5 stars because of the deep fried cheesy cheery tomatoes. It was beyond awesome! If you are hiking the Camino del Ray. You should definitely stop here for a nibble and try the cheery tomatoe tapa!
