LA GAVIOTA Restaurant-Bar

Stunning location for fine dining, impeccable service, great vibe, live music, and a beautiful looking restaurant. If I’m being very critical— and since I am paying top dollar I should be—the ceviche entrée was 200 Mexican pesos and was barely a couple small spoons worth of food. The chilli relano was delicious as was the lomito fish but for my taste buds was a bit on the bland side, and I would have wished for less of a tourist pallet and more of a rich spiced Mexican approach. Having said that, this is definitely one of the top restaurants along this beach strip and worth a visit at minimum for the great vibe and views.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant, the view, the service, the ambiance, music and especially the food were outstanding. Alberto did a wonderful job, he recommended dishes that were wonderful. We had wine, Mahi Mahi, new potatoes gratin, with bread, the grilled cantaloupe salad was so unique and beautifully made! Carrot cake for dessert was a great ending to our special meal. He then brought us a little ginger, cinnamon tea that was so nice!

This place is an absolute GEM!!! Alberto was our waiter and he did a wonderful job and we will definitely be back. We had Mahi-mahi and it was cooked perfectly. The wine was very good, especially for Mexico. We had dessert which was carrot cake and it was incredible. If you’re in Zihuatanejo you have to definitely stop by here.

We got the guacamole, ceviche and baja fish taco. It was SOO good! Highly recommend this spot! We did lunch but dinner menu looks great too.

Fantastic restaurant, I had hands down one of the best tacos of my life. Beautiful location, lovely service, great atmosphere. We stopped for lunch as we were arriving to zihuat and we didn’t regret it. We had the fish al pastor set of 5 tacos, really good, the taco chago, and zanka, both goods but my favorite was the taco chulo, so balanced with the perfectly seasoned shrimp, and the pickled onions with an amazing sauce that made me want to lick my plate. Only down side of the place is that it is on the pricy side and the drinks are outrageously expensive but for food this good I’ll definitely go again. And the set up is just gorgeous! You might need a reservation though . Highly recommend it !

Julian was out server and he really was phenomenal! The service was fabulous, he was well adverse to the menu and very crafeful with our food allergies. The food was absolutely fantastic! We had the portobello mushroom app, red snapper entree and tuna entree. The food was fantastic as well as the presentation. Our table was over looking the ocean and being a covered outdoor restaurant it couldn't have been better. Beautiful atmosphere and hearing and watching the waves while enjoying dinner could not have been better. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant has a fresh and well prepared food. Campechana Zihua was our favorite. Our waiter Francisco took good care of us and tried his best to understand us and our English.

This is easiest the best restaurant in Zihua. There are plenty of vegan options and everything we had vegan and not vegan was delicious. This restaurant has steps down to the beach and the waves come right up to the steps. The staff there are amazing and friendly, huge shout out to Alberto for making us feel at home. I can’t recommend this place enough and I can’t wait to come back!
