La Gaviota Tropical

We had the most wonderful stay at La Gaviota Tropical. We spent five nights here, and our room was absolutely lovely and comfortable—perfect for the two of us. We stayed in the Guanacaste room, which is spacious and beautifully arranged; it would be an excellent option for a family as well. What truly made our stay exceptional was the spectacular service from everyone who works there. Each day, the staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and genuinely kind. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows in every interaction. We also loved the food. We ate breakfast at the hotel every day and it was so yummy—fresh, flavorful, and the perfect start to each morning. We also enjoyed several dinners at the hotel, and every meal was spectacular. The hotel is exceptionally clean. It’s clear how much care and pride they put into maintaining the property, and it made our stay feel even more relaxing and enjoyable. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience

This hotel really exceeded our expectations! Management/staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel is directly on the beach. The room was spacious and nice. The rooftop pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean was a real treat! We loved the cats that were lounging around the property. Breakfast at Roberto’s (beach front restaurant on the ground floor) is included with the room, and you can choose from a large menu, everything we tried was delicious! We also ate dinner at Roberto’s a couple of times and it was very good! Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed at La Govita Tropical July 2025 and it was the best trip ever! Costa Rica is my new favorite place to travel to. It was 4 days of pure relaxation, great food, weather and views. The staff were amazing and very attentive to anything you needed. The rooftop pool was probably the best part of the trip. We even ordered food and drinks and it was delivered to us at the pool. If you walk out of the hotel you are steps away from the beach that is rarely crowded. The hotel provides beach chairs and beach toys for you to use at anytime. We even met some guests who loved it so much they come back 5+ times a year!! I recommend this place to anyone I can and will be coming back!! Thanks for a great vacation.

We had an amazing time while staying at La Gaviota Tropical. We stayed for five nights and everything about the stay was perfect. Our room was fantastic and was perfect for us. ||The best part about the stay was the amazing service from the staff. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and friendly. ||The food was also delicious. We enjoyed breakfast each morning there. As well as many of our dinners. ||Additionally, the hotel is extremely clean. It is obvious that they are proud of the hotel and take great care to maintain it. ||I highly recommend this hotel!

We spent our honeymoon at La Gaviota Tropical and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the Sol y Mar suite and it was beautiful and well-appointed. The rooftop pool is cool, and the hotel is steps from the beach. The bar staff was friendly and helpful. Playa Hermosa is a quiet town and perfect for relaxing.

We absolutely loved this hotel. Large room for our family of 5 and right on the beach. The beach wasn't as crowded as I expected. The service at the hotel was perfect and the staff spoke good English and as a celiac (gluten free) I found they were very careful about all the meals we ate there (breakfast and dinner). We were extremely happy with our stay there. We were able to walk down the beach and do some good snorkeling with the kids.

Great location and staff! this boutique hotel has five rooms with an elevator. A pool is located on the top floor. The rooms include a breakfast at Roberto‘s restaurant, which is on site and has great food! Great location for a sunset! we have eaten at Roberto‘s several times during our visits to Costa Rica and have never been disappointed. This is our first time to stay at the hotel and we continue to be impressed. We stayed in the LaPlaya room on this visit and I have attached a few pictures.

Great little hotel. Very few rooms (maybe 5?) but if you're lucky enough to score one, you'll enjoy your stay. Rooms are spacious, staff was great and we enjoyed our meals right out on the beach.
