Took the ferry over from Tenerife and wow! La Gomera is beautiful. The views are stunning. The only downside is we only had about 5/6 hours here. We will definitely be returning and spending a few days so we can explore more of the island.

It was a one-day trip with a very beautiful tour guide, we enjoyed watching the volcanic mountains and the forest at the top of the summit, and the tour guide was generous about the island.

We really enjoyed our one day guided trip around the island. Beautiful views, green nature and colourful houses. The rainforest is so nice with so much moss on the trees. One day I might maybe go there again and explore on my own with my camera.

If you are looking for a very peaceful, serene island with lots of rural areas to explore, and tons of hiking opportunities, La Gomera is the island for you. As much as we enjoy the vast array of things to do on the other islands, the relaxing nature of La Gomera was a welcome surprise. We took the ferry from Tenerife and arrived in San Sebastian where we spent a couple hours just walking around exploring. There are colorful buildings that terrace their way up the hillside, historical churches, delightful small cafes, and tons of history. The big claim to fame is that San Sebastian was the last stop for Christopher Columbus before his journey across the Atlantic. If you are looking for forested hiking trails, head to the center of the island. Garajonay national park has lots of hiking trails, and an excellent visitor center. For us some of the trails were reminiscent of hiking in the coast range of Oregon, with lush green trees, fairly thick underbrush, and even Himalayan blackberry vines (which we were shocked to see!). Heading to the west/southwest of the Isle, and you wind your way down to Valle Gran Rey. The drive in is amazing, with gorgeous vistas from the multiple-switchback road. Once you hit the town, you enter a quaint beachside village that is boasting with charm. There are multiple restaurants- several that directly overlook the sea, lots of shopping opportunities, and nice black sand beach. We were there during a bocce ball competition- which was so much fun to watch! There definitely is not the night life that is popular on Tenerife and Gran Canaria, or the wineries that abound on La Palma, but for a good relaxing time La Gomera is THE island. We aren’t able to get to it on our next trip to the Canaries, but we definitely intend to the following trip.

well well well, most spectacular of all of the canary islanda in my humble opinion due to lots of magnificent views, lack of turists (sic!), low prices, almost untouched nature, very old forest in the national park, very good food, and tones of quiet moments (that you do not get that easily in other canary islands) + tones of trekking trails, quite many endemic species and very very xharming local people. Stillonly ca.20kpeople live there on a permanent basis (going down year by year) so it's a really quite place

Beautiful island! I went bikepacking there. Good road quality, little traffic, very quiet off the coast, great for cycling. I met couple hikers and that's it. It's apparently a paradise for hikers. San Sebastian city is pretty boring, the German colony Valle Gran Rey is more lively but basically just restaurants. If you go there make sure you go in the mountains.

One of the most relaxed smallest islands in the Canaries. Perfect for anyone who wants to avoid the big crowds for sure. Also ideal for families. Not necessarily a LGBTQ+ destination but with its hippie culture corners certainly open minded and with a nice atmosphere where you can feel safe and relaxed.
