La Hacienda Honestly, the service of this place is always unmatched the most places. I’m one of the managers, knowing that I was struggling to read the menu, he brought me over my own personal lamp. Vibrations are fabulous, but not as good as the bartenders. Jackson, Emmanuel, and I loved Raymond and Cassidy. I loved my lobster tacos and my margarita was fabulous. We really enjoyed the chips and salsa’s and a homemade guacamole. Everybody there was so nice. I WOULD RECOMMEND

We love La Hacienda. We went one time during Christmas at the Princess when we were walking around looking for a real meal. We knew when we came back to Arizona we had to go again! The food is delicious. I got the lobster tacos and the Marga-No-More. Both delicious! My husband got the Quesabirria and almost ordered another one immediately because it was so good. He also got the Pineapple Passion, which he said was good but sour. We tried one of the queso’s but felt the cheese was too thick for our tastes. The desserts were also delicious: I got the Concha Sundae (highly recommend), and my husband enjoyed the Passion Fruit Rollo. The service was also good, and I like the different sections of seating they offer. For those who don’t know, the Princess offers free valet parking with restaurant validation, which was very convenient for us since we stayed off-property.

Zach was our server tonight, he was very attentive, didn’t miss a single detail and provided extensive knowledge on the menu. 10/10 service, I will be requesting him every time. The entire bar staff was extremely helpful and got our drinks out impressively fast. Not to mention best Mexican resturant EVER ! Here are some pics of our appetizers

Decided to try La Hacienda tonight while visiting Christmas at the Princess at the Fairmont Hotel in Scottsdale. As a former restaurant critic specializing in Mexican cuisine, this place is highly over-rated. The service was horrendous (sorry Manuel) and the food was average at best. The margaritas were good but over-priced. We literally had to get our waiter’s attention to order a 2nd round of drinks and again to order our meal. Not the kind of service we expected based on other reviews. I had the chicken fajitas and my wife had the Chicken Tinga tacos. The fajitas consisted of 6 strips of chicken on top of a few onions and peppers. Most fajitas are served with either rice or beans but not these. My wife said her tacos tasted like chicken on tomato paste and had no flavor. Both entrees were very disappointing compared to other Mexican restaurants we have visited. And we have visited a lot! I don’t usually write negative reviews but this was a very poor experience and we will definitely not be returning.

La Hacienda is pure class. If you are seeking for a traditional Spanish-Mexican-Southwestern meal, perfect for a date night or a high-class business meal, and even comforting enough to bring the entire family, look no further. The decor is pristine and teleports you to a medieval and serene villa in Mexico or Spain. It's spacious, lots of clay and wood, and leather. It sets you to a "proper" mood where you definitely can be haughty in a good way, but not uncomfortable or unnatural. Class oozes from every nook of the large restaurant, split into variety of sections and room to contain noise and bring in the cozy feeling. As expected, service is impeccable and top notch, easily rivaling the best steak restaurants. Again, you will have no issues feeling right at home, served well, and feel special. Our server Aaron was just great - nailed the balance of leaning in but not being bothersome. The food is great (although could be better). Every ingredient is fresh, fresh, fresh. The freshly made guacamole was literally a delight. Try the sampler and taste the differences. All the dishes also come out visually extravagant and Instagram-ready, although I don't think it adds to the taste. Now let's nit pick. The fish tacos could've used a bit more personality, especially with the salsa or the fish marination itself. Again, great, but wasn't mind-blowing. The plaintains were also good but I'd say was over-queso'd, making the balance slightly off. Same goes for the corn. In general, the food is great because of the love and care in the preparation with fresh ingredients. It's just that the flavor needs to be fine-tuned, just a bit. The most disappointing aspect was the churros, where the churro was simply a crisp and didn't have the substance to back it up inside. Really, this is the one thing that you must nail at a restaurant of this caliber. Even with these shortcomings, I still give La Hacienda 5 stars. There simply is no other experience (that I know of) as such in Phoenix/Scottsdale where you can dress up, walk around the beautiful patios of the Fairmont, and have a great night out with your loved one. Will absolutely return for those special occasions.

Google
If there was a higher rating for Stephanie, I would give it, wholeheartedly. She remembered us, treated us as valued guests & even made recommendations based on what we'd said on a previous visit. She is exactly the kind of employee every restaurant should strive to have!!

Google
We had a wonderful experience. The hotel was all illuminated with their monstrous holiday light show. The restaurant is beautiful. We sat outside next to one of the many heaters . I had a delicious fig margarita, and we shared a salad, guacamole, and a steak fajita. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced . Exceeded my expectations.

Google
Christmas at the Princess has become an annual holiday tradition shared with our dearest friends. And, of course, it always begins with an amazing meal at La Hacienda. Living in such a beautiful state allows us to dine on the patio, creating the most memorable Christmas experience possible. As always, the food was absolutely incredible. Our server, Alfonso, once again delivered the highest level of care and professionalism. Manager Raymond checked on us several times throughout the evening to ensure everything was to our liking, and his attention to detail is truly second to none. People travel from all over the world to experience this stunning Christmas display right in our own backyard, and we are incredibly grateful for it.

Yelp
Came here for a girlfriends birthday celebration. Ambiance is cute. I like the decor in here and service was good. As for the menu, I got the blood orange margarita which was pretty good. Dinner was the chicken enchiladas. I liked those a lot. They did bring out a couple of birthday desserts; churros and a little cake. Overall, this place was nice and I would probably come back for a nice occassion.

Yelp
We went to La Hacienda on a Friday night--it was relatively busy, and I'm glad we made reservations. We started with the chips and salsa, which were incredible--fresh, crisp chips and salsa with just the right amount of kick. I ordered a skinny spicy margarita, and it had amazing flavor with just the right heat. For dinner, we had the chicken fajitas and a side of plantains. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The server asked if it was OK to bring out extra corn tortillas, but didn't mention there would be a $1 charge per tortilla. She was otherwise very attentive and friendly, but it would have been nice to know about the charge ahead of time. Great flavors, attentive service, and a lively atmosphere--just keep that tortilla note in mind.

Yelp
Service was decent. Food was absolutely awful. Ribeye tacos were so tough. You couldn't chew or cut into the steak. Chicken Tinga Empanadas were Ice cold inside. Lobster tacos were over cooked and not a lot of meat. The Chips & Salsa are the highlight of this place. We all were hoping for a great meal. Very disappointed.

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience! Cassidy and Mason are outstanding managers, and Alfredo took exceptional care of us. Miljan does a fabulous job inspiring this concept and all the related events. The drinks were wonderful, definitely try the Fig Margarita! The chopped salad was fresh and flavorful, the fajitas were the best, and the chips and salsa were downright addictive. We sat outside on the beautiful patio, and it felt absolutely magical. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Kevin A.

Yelp
Great food, great service with recommendations by the staff and great atmosphere no matter if you choose outside or inside. Food is reasonably priced for what you get however drink prices are on the stiff side of the $

Yelp
Tacos & margs were excellent at La Hacienda. My husband had a conference at the Fairmont Princess, so I naturally had a staycation & worked from the resort for a few days. I really enjoyed the bar at La Hacienda. Stephanie was really friendly, and made me some great drinks. They do not offer happy hour, and the food is a little pricey, but definitely worth it. The chicken tacos were amazing. Pro tip, sub the pickeled onions for pico. I would dine here again next time I visit the Fairmont Princess!

Yelp
Great dining experience here. The restaurant is beautiful, service was top tier and everything was delicious. They start you off with some chips and salsa which always hits the spot. We ordered some guacamole too, which is made table side to your liking. We decided to order a few different items to share, the lobster tacos, chicken fajitas, and the carnitas hacienda. Was really surprised how fast everything came out (maybe 10-12 minutes after we ordered). Everything was fresh and delicious, the tacos were so good and that carnitas was amazing. Loved the spread on the fajitas and how you get a nice portion of everything. Definitely a great spot to dine.

Yelp
What a fabulous dining experience!!! You are made to feel welcomed from the minute you enter and all throughout your time dining!!! A beautiful restaurant with amazing food, drinks and service!!! From the warm homemade chips and table side guacamole, to the exceptional lobster tacos and flavorful fajitas. You can't go wrong with any dish!!! I only wish I had room for their decadent desserts!!! Beautiful inside or outside dining. They deserve 6 stars!!!!!

Aaron F.

Yelp
Great service and great food. A bit pricey but its as the Princess so expected that. Would definitely go again. By far the best tequila menu in the valley.
google avatar

Yelp
We went here for a business dinner. I love Mexican food and they didn't disappoint. The guacamole was amazing. I ate so much I could barely eat all my dinner. The food was really good too. The service was excellent. They were all very kind and attentive. The ambiance was sexy, cozy and warm. I give it a 10/10. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. The food was average at best. Every table gets a large basket of chips when seated. Those were a great starter. We got the sampler guacamole and was probably our favourite of the night. The corn tamales were average - a little dry and too sweet. Portions are huge and we had some leftovers to take back. The space is nice. We sat in the patio and was lively. They had a table side Mexican coffee which the table beside us ordered and was really cool! It was a nice dinner but food wasn't as expected.

Jeffrey F.

Yelp
Not only was the food delicious, the service fast but they accommodated every single request we made proving that nothing was premade. The table side guacamole was excellent. Every request to customize our order was greeted with a smile and came prepared as ordered. It was pricey as you would expect for a restaurant in a beautiful hotel but they didn't take that for granted and delivered on their reputation.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant. Had a great time this past Friday. The lobster tacos are literally unbelievable, one of my favorite tacos in the valley! They are delicious. We got the chicken and steak fajitas... they were ok. Waiter was extremely friendly. Only thing was the restaurant was unusually cold inside... idk what was going on. Margaritas were ok, nothing to go crazy about. Would go back if I was ever in north Scottsdale; I'd recommend this place, especially if your staying on the property

Yelp
This is going back a few years, but I remember La Hacienda being a Gem! Great food& service! Margaritas were a special treat!

Yelp
We had a lovely dinner here with some executives from our company and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. Lovely lit patio with a bar and wonderful guitarist. The service was phenomenal and prompt. The food was amazing. From the chorizo empanadas and other appetizers, to the salad, to the beef tenderloin (wow), and the flan! We enjoyed an after dinner coffee and uniqueness of the presentation that came with it. We definitely cannot wait to return. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Yelp
I am obsessed with this restaurant. Ambiance is wonderful - the music selection is fantastic. The food is to die for. Their lobster tacos, house salsa, beans, and elote are better than in any other Mexican restaurant I've ever been. Don't change a thing, La Hacienda!! You are a gem.
google avatar

Abby B.

Yelp
Amazing food and atmosphere as well as service. Have been before and would go again. Only regret was the mixed fajitas, I wish they'd ask how like steak prepared as more of a MR lover and it was well done. Good quality but overdone. Just ask if can have it prepared the way you like.
google avatar

Kim G.

Yelp
Love this restaurant! My favorite time to come eat here is during December when there are all the Christmas lights! The Lobster Tacos are absolutely amazing! I order these as an appetizer to share with my husband. I hate sharing these tacos! They are that good! I follow that with steak fajitas and without dessert I am happy. Honestly, the Lobster Tacos could be my dessert...

Chris R.

Yelp
Wr took our family party of 10 to La Hacienda. Service was excellent, food was really good and it had a nice ambiance. We were at the Princess fir their holiday celebration. Super fun experience
google avatar

Travis P.

Yelp
You must try this 6 out of 5 star Mexican restaurant. You will not find better table side guac. Just do it and don't tell them to leave anything out, even if you're picky, because it's amazing. The only thing to request ... ask for the their habanero cream salsa and you'll be amazed. Mix this with you guacamole or Queso and you'd leave a five start review on this alone. Their margaritas are all handcrafted, amazing glasses of happiness. Try them all. I went with the filet, which is served over two cheese enchiladas and it was the most tender piece of meat I've ever tasted. I would Uber to this restaurant even if I didn't stay at the Princess and you should too
google avatar

Arpi H.

Yelp
I came here for the first time for dinner and I loved everything! We ordered guacamole for the table with chips and salsa - it was delicious. I had the chicken tinga tacos and I enjoyed every bite. We sat outside and the outdoor patio was nice. The indoor ambiance as I walked through was nice. Our service was great and I can't wait to return!

Julia R.

Yelp
Everything from food to ambience. Especially a great place to go during Xmas. Beautifully done
google avatar

Jana T.

Yelp
We were staying at The Princess and decided to come here last minute on Friday night. I started with the Serrano margarita, which was amazing! For my meal, I had the chicken fajitas, and they were delicious. Our waiter was super attentive and very friendly. The restaurant's interior has a cool, dark vibe that I really appreciated.

Niki H.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in Scottsdale! I get the chicken enchiladas, guacamole, rice, and beans with sangria. It is excellent. The staff is also very kind!
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
We come here every time we visit Scottsdale great food, service and atmosphere at the Fairmont!
google avatar

Reza K.

Yelp
This restaurant is located in a perfect place, Scottsdale Fairmont, gorgeous ambiance, and very nice staff/servers! I got great suggestions from our server for both drinks and food. The food is exactly what you expect from a high end Mexican restaurant, but one thing I need to give credit to this restaurant is their steak and the Mexican presentation/ seasonings, just amazing! Definitely get Margaritas, they have plenty of options and you can modify easily. Also if you go during Xmas, you wont need to pay for the parking as far as you spend 85$ or more here! (parking could be up to 130$!)
google avatar

Kara R.

Yelp
I am obsessed with this place. Everytime I'm in Scottsdale I come to get the lobster tacos because they are soooo good. Also the chips and guac trio is amazing!! Highly recommend this place

Yelp
First up I would like to say this was a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere, ambience, decor all really cool. The tequila bar has some great tequilas. This is located in the princess resort and from arrival to nightcap it was a great time. It started off with the valet. Joe was super friendly, provided direction to the restaurant which was just a short walk across the courtyard. It was Wednesday night and a little later in the evening around 7:30-8 so it wasn't overly crowded. They accept reservations and I would recommend that especially on the weekend. We were greeted immediately and taken to a nice table across from the tequila bar. The staff came over from the bar with menus and took drink orders and made some nice recommendations. The lavender margarita smelled and tasted delicious. The tequila old fashioned was the first surprise of the night. A slight Smokey and nutty flavor and the smell was amazing. At $25 it was a little pricey but you aren't coming here to save money. The total dinner with appetizers, drinks, and a split entree dessert and specialty coffee was just under $200 before the tip. It was plenty of food so I would say overall the value was great for the experience. It started with unlimited chips and salsa. The chips were delicious, and thick so they were perfect because we ordered the sampler guacamole. It was pomegranate, elote, and carnitas. The pomegranate was a sweet surprise. We ordered tempiquena entree. It was skirt steak with a molé enchilada. The steak was not bad but the enchilada and molé sauce was delightful. With roasted corn on the cob. Across the restaurant we could see flames and sparks and when the staff came over they told us it was coffee from the dessert menu. They had me at fire so of course we had to check out the menu. I can say that I drink a lot of coffee and this was amongst the best I have had. The dessert, well the picture doesn't do it enough justice because it was decadent. Following dinner we went to the plaza bar, which is outside. Lots of table top fire pits. The weather was perfect, the ambiance fantastic and the service just what we expected. If you're looking for a 5 star experience, put this on your list.

Jen G.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance are incredible! It's one of our favorite restaurants when we travel to Arizona. I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Derek S.

Yelp
Beautiful restraint and a very peaceful patio to enjoy delicious Mexican fare. The fajitas, fish tacos, and kids quesadillas were a hit. The fresh table side guacamole was really good as well. Prompt and courteous service was also a great highlight. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
This is another one of our favorite go-to restaurants in the Scottsdale area. We love everything about it -- from the appetizers and drinks to the main courses. The atmosphere is always enjoyable, especially when dining outside. Some of our favorites: the guacamole, cocktails, and for dinner -- the mole enchiladas and the shrimp enchiladas. Oh and great for us gluten free people! ;-) If you're in the area, definitely put this one on your must-have dinner list.

Leslie D.

Yelp
Look forward to coming back. Food, service and decor was amazing . Great ambiance too!

Yelp
We came tonight for my bday and had a reservation for 7:30pm. We used the complimentary valet which was great. We were early and knew we may have to wait, but were immediately sat and the hostesses were both very friendly. The building is gorgeous, as is the entire resort. To start, I had a Serrano Margarita which has become the gold standard for all spicy margaritas in my future. The pineapple mixed w the spice and the delicious tajin rim was sooo good! We shared the guacamole sampler; all were good but our fav was definitely the street corn. For dinner we each had fajitas, me the mushrooms and my bestie had the chicken. The portions were perfect, the tortillas made in house and SO good!! Our server, who was fantastic, asked if we were celebrating a bday (mine!) and offered us a complimentary dessert. We opted for the key lime cheesecake which came out w a candle - soooo sweet!! And oh my was it DELICIOUS! If I could have licked the sauce on the bottom, believe me, I would have. Absolutely a perfect experience!
google avatar

Kylie D.

Yelp
Had the best lobster tacos and queso fundido. The guacamole was fresh and great as well!
google avatar

Yelp
Our favorite dining experience while staying at the Fairmont Princess in Scottsdale. Beautiful venue with fireplaces and seats under the stars. Unique Guacamoles made with Sweet Corn and Pomegranates and some fantastic Lobster Tacos. Main dishes we had were the Barbacoa de Res and Carnitas Hacienda. For desert a Sweet Corn Tres Leches cake and Mexican Chocolate Tart. One of the nicest Mexican restaurants that I have ever been too. Fun experience and great service with fresh Guacamole and drinks made tableside.
google avatar

Dolores D.

Yelp
So many great reviews and people recommended this place. I was excited to try it. They just need to add more seasoning to their food. They give you complementary chips and salsa. The salsa was good but could be better. We also got the sampler of guacamole and the pomegranate one was good. They do have mocktails. They are expensive like $14 for a the pineapple passion fruit. I got the chargrilled fajitas the chicken wasn't that great, the steak was good but could have used more seasoning. Got rice and beans and they were good. My friend didn't like how the mole tasted.
google avatar

Brenda T.

Yelp
Excellent service, ambiance, and food. I dined solo at the bar and every single staff member I interacted with (about 5) were so nice and really great at their respective jobs. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and experience here. If I had any critique, I found the steak to be slightly under seasoned. However, it was cooked as requested and everything else was wonderful.

Jessica P.

Yelp
Had a wonderful overall experience. Few things like over cooked vegetables in the Fajitas and not so fresh cabbage and guacamole as the sides were the only things that fell short. The Chicken enchiladas were delicious and they made an occasion very special by offering dessert which was absolutely amazing.
google avatar

Kimberly C.

Yelp
Let's just start by saying, this is a beautiful location situated in the middle of the princess resort in Scottsdale. If you're lucky enough to be staying here for any reason and want a delicious meal La Hacienda will not disappoint. The restaurant itself has wonderful atmosphere, a little dark and moody with a great bar area and lovely staff. We enjoyed some delicious cocktails and guac, before dinner which consisted of some shrimp tacos and chicken fajitas. My only complaint was that the portions seemed small for the price, but when you're at the princess you should expect everything will cost you more. If it wasn't a special occasion I may never have tried this place, and it's actually too pricey for me on a regular basis.
google avatar

Steven F.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've ever had in Arizona, probably the best or second best Mexican restaurant I've been to. Nice atmosphere, luxurious but not too snobby. Very impressed with the way our server handled one of our guest's severe allergies. The food was excellent, especially the shrimp enchiladas. Will be back hopefully!
google avatar

Tom K.

Yelp
Awesome margs. Guac was also great. Entrees 3.5 of 5 stars for the money. Service was good.
google avatar

Elaine V.

Yelp
Fortunately i made a reservation ahead of time. Because the family in front of me had to eat on the patio and its was still pretty warm outside at 5:45pm. We started out with blood orange margaritas that were delicious. Our guacamole was made quickly in front of us was perfect and generous. My nephew ordered carnitas Hacienda he really enjoyed. I ordered tacos de barbacoa . Good but I wished I could have ordered it alcarte. The service start to finish was excellent. Our Mexican coffee drink being made was fun to watch. It was a nice coffee drink to sip. Overall a very nice dinner experience and can't wait to be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome food, awesome service and ambiance can't be beat. Highly recommend this place... we will be back again soon.

Yelp
Four if us dined here and we all had delicious entrees! Excellent food and service!! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Amazing food, service was impeccable and ambiance for date night was romantic! We will be back for date night again!

Yelp
It's rare that high end Mexican restaurants actually live up to their hype, but this place does. While expensive, it was worth every penny. Making a reservation here was a breeze, as they use a modern reservation system that lets you add the reservation to your calendar and sends you reminders. The hosts were gracious and welcoming upon arrival. Our server was equally lovely and a manager came by our table to check on us and make chitchat, and all the bussers and helpers who came by were equally pleasant. The vibe here can only be described as sexy Spanish mission. Imagine the decor and ambiance equivalent of peak hotness Antonio Banderas whispering you to sleep. The menu wasn't massive, which allowed them to focus on preparing dishes well. My shrimp fajitas were flavorful and ample, with large, perfectly charred shrimp, house-made corn tortillas, and a heaping of creamy, fresh guacamole that was probably the best I've had in years, likely due to avocado quality. The boyfriend liked his tacos, and my black currant margarita was well executed. The showstopper of the evening, however, was what I will refer to simply as Fire Coffee. It was a $20 coffee. Again, worth every penny. A server rolled out a cart upon which she placed a ceramic mug, into which she drizzled rum, which she then lit on fire. She then repeatedly and rhythmically heaped spoonfuls of sugar and cinnamon into the flames so that they burned, sending flames upward into the air and also pouring out of the mug as they fell to the surface of the cart. I took video, but I wish I could have captured the smell. It was mesmerizing and looked like something out of Harry Potter. After finally extinguishing the flames, she poured Frangelico and Irish cream into the cup and topped it with house-made whipped cream and chocolate shavings. My boyfriend, who is not normally a coffee drinker, tried it and said it was the best coffee he'd ever had. I must agree. I want to have this again every night for the rest of my life. Perhaps my only nitpick is that, since this restaurant is nestled into the Fairmont hotel/resort, we were made to valet our car. The valet was free with restaurant validation, but we weren't given the option to self-park. We generally avoid valeting, particularly in a rental car (we were on vacation), because of the potential for scratches or other damage. As this restaurant is in a hotel, we can't be the only ones who were uneasy about valeting a rental. Additionally, my boyfriend and I both completely stopped carrying cash years ago and, not realizing we would be valeting, had no money on us with which to tip, but there was no conspicuous explanation as to how we could tip via card or Venmo, and no non-awkward opportunity to ask.
google avatar

Ron T.

Yelp
The chips and salsa they served before the meal was some of the best I've ever had. The food was outstanding and the service was amazing. I would highly recommend this to everyone.

Heather S.

Yelp
My son projectile vomited everywhere and these professionals at La Hacienda didn't even bat an eye, probably this happens all the time from these absolute tourists visiting Arizona in the summer. I want to be clear that it wasn't from the food which was delicious, he told me he wasn't feeling well before we even got there but I thought he was trying to get out of going because he doesn't like Mexican food. The margarita was so good that I was uncharacteristically chill during this vomiting episode. 5/5 stars all around.
google avatar

Debra S.

Yelp
We hosted friends from out of town and we picked the perfect place. We wanted Mexican food, but elevated. We got that and more -- warm, well-paced service, creative drinks, flavorful food. All around a great experience!
