Were able to stay here for a night away for our anniversary and it felt like a million miles away but only 2 miles down the street from our house. From the moment we reached out to stay until we left, we felt truly cared for. Nick, the general manager, met us at the gate and showed us to our room, which was cozy and had a few treats for our stay. We wandered around the property, which was just so peaceful; the pond so lovely and full of life. We loved playing backgammon in the lounge and enjoying a bottle of wine after a dinner downtown. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious, all handmade items: granola, fritatta, and coffee. Just lovely. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a weekend away or a place to let an out of town guest stay if you are a local.

The photos don’t do justice! Such a hidden gem, we've been to SLO twice before but our first stay here, lovely combo of luxury touches while still nice and cozy. Breakfast was delicious and host was part of the family that runs it, very warm and welcoming and knowledgable! Just a short ride from the airport but we felt like we were out in the middle of wine country. We loved the complimentary tasting and the wine, the grenache was our favorite! And so many good wineries nearby, we need a full trip to visit them all. The rooms and landscaping were immaculate (the roses!!!! 😍) 5-10 mins drive from the downtown shops and restaurants. Already missing our stay, can't wait to come back!

We absolutely loved our trip here! The family who runs it is so nice and accommodating, and the space is incredibly beautiful. The breakfast is amazing too! The location is very convenient to lots of hikes, beaches, and restaurants. We hope to come back soon!

I have to say WOW; La Lomita Ranch is a total hidden gem -- my husband and I feel like we've stumbled onto a hidden treasure. We went on a honeymoon roadtrip from NorCal to SoCal and needed a place to stop for a night to rest on our way back - a friend who went to college at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo recommended La Lomita and we were absolutely blown away once we arrived. ||This place is a labor of love -- I am from Spain and I felt like I was at home, but with a California twist. They have beautiful Spanish courtyards with authentic tilework that is an actual work of art, and we were so in love with the animals at the ranch!! It is incredibly well-maintained (and it's a big property) and absolutely gorgeous. It has the prettiest barn cat and the cleanest barn I've seen in my life with beautiful horses, in a nod to the property's history as an Arabian horse breeding ranch. We loved hearing about the property from Darlene, the chef who prepares a Spanish-style breakfast that was a true highlight.||The rooms are clean, very spacious, and absolutely beautiful with the authentic tilework and barn-style layout and stylized doors. The ranch is clear about the fact that there is not tv in the rooms, but they have tablets for you to watch online shows on. They also left a bottle of wine in our room as a honeymoon present, which was very sweet, and they leave a basket of local products for all the guests - a very nice touch!||I almost never write reviews, but I am doing this because I was so blown away by how beautiful and well-taken care of this place is. My husband and I stayed at a bunch of fancy hotels all up and down the California cost that were 2x the price of La Lomita, but La Lomita was by far the coolest and most interesting. We are already looking for excuses to randomly go to San Luis Obispo so we can stay here and show more people how absolutely amazing something can be when passion and hard work are poured into it.

Wow. What a great property! It’s a working ranch with seven or so rooms and suites plus a hacienda house. The rooms are beautifully appointed in the Spanish mission style with Saltillo tile floors and decorative bathroom tiles. The bedding and bath products are luxurious and the ample continental breakfast includes homemade frittatas, fresh baked bread, homemade granola and jam, Greek yogurt and charcuterie and cheeses. Manager Darlene greeted us every day at breakfast and had many helpful suggestions about things to do in the area. The grounds are lovely and peaceful. It’s a five minute drive into town but so relaxing to be in the countryside. Looking forward to a return trip!

Beautiful place and everyone was awesome. Breakfast was great. Darlene was the best. If your staying in the San Louis Obispo area definitely consider the ranch as a place to stay

Concert in very small room, Candlelight Fever covering Coldplay, 2 violins 🎻 , 1 viola and a cello. Beautiful grounds, horse barn and buildings

Google
Great place to stay! Room was amazing, and there was a lounge. The breakfast was amazing; they had meats, cheese, bread and frittatas. The location was convenient too, it is only a 10 min drive to the town. To top it all, there were cats, horses, and other animals around the ranch. You can even feed the horses! Darlene was also an amazing host. We will be back.

Yelp
Attended one of their candlelight concerts. Highly recommend this beautiful location for an evening of music. The musicians were talented, the acoustics wonderful, and the candlelit setting absolutely enchanting. A sensory feast for the ears and eyes. Arrive early for a good parking spot, sip a glass of wine, and admire the magnificent horses while passing through their barn on your way to the concert hall.

Yelp
I attended a candlelight music event and thoroughly enjoyed it! Parking was easy, the venue was very nice and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Looks like a nice place to stay, too.

Yelp
What an absolutely stunning venue this is! I was recently in SLO and attended a winemaker's dinner that was held in the courtyard of the ranch. My colleague and I arrived well before dinner, to give us the chance to tour the beautiful grounds. From breathtaking mountain views over the on-site lake, to Spanish-style horse barns turned into hotel suites, to lush and lavish gardens and grounds, I can't imagine any sort of event that wouldn't be even more amazing if held at this venue. As for the wine dinner, it was all beautifully executed, with a vegetarian tasting menu paired with delicious La Lomita wines. (There's a tasting room on-site, too, but it's currently only open by appointment.) The winery owner talked about each wine, and how the unique geological features of the area contribute to their very unique and complex flavor profiles. I regretted that I'd only packed carry-on, or I would have bought a bottle or two to take home. The event we attended was part of Edible SLO's Summer House event series; and I can't imagine a more perfect venue for this occasion!

Yelp
We had a great time meeting and greeting som local vendors at this YELP and Edible Magazine Event. A local chef, cheese makers, and a free food bank all contributed to a lovely afternoon at one of the most attractive event settings in SLO! Thanks to the Yelp Elite Team for bringing this together!

Yelp
Got the chance to tour this beautiful place and it is absolutely breathtaking, unlike nothing else in the area. They host weddings and private events, have a wonderful Spanish inspired bed and breakfast, and they have their own wine - La Lomita wines. On the property, they have various event spaces including a terrace with a large grassy area and wonderful views; an exquisite courtyard with a fountain and various seating; the plaza which includes another fountain and views of the rolling hills and private lake; and a pavilion which is a huge barn-like enclosed venue space for large parties. The whole entire space is just magnificent and a total dream space for any event or wedding!

Yelp
I absolutely loved this venue and will definitely be back! I attended a candlelight music event, and it was nothing short of dreamy--a truly magical experience.

Yelp
We got to stay here via Pack Up & Go and what an amazing atmosphere it was! Darlene (manager?) Is very friendly and helpful. We had a delicious breakfast both mornings and walked the barn to be greeted by the cats and horses! Lovely stay for our anniversary.

Yelp
Our visit at Lomita Ranch was the most unforgettable stay we've ever had, the cleanliness of the rooms to the details of the sheets, furniture, towels etc... Darlene is by far the best host anyone could ask for, she goes out of her way to accommodate every need to make you feel at home. The views of the ranch are breathtaking and we will back again.

Yelp
This thank you is a long time coming, but we could not have asked for a more magical venue for our wedding! La Lomita was the second property we visited when exploring wedding venues, and once we arrived for our first visit, we immediately knew this was where we wanted to get married. La Lomita is such a special place that offers an intimate, family-oriented, and stunningly beautiful experience for weddings. One of our top priorities for our wedding was finding a venue where our immediate family could stay comfortably for all the events of our Indian wedding. Our family of about 20 enjoyed five unforgettable days on the property, feeling completely at ease and at home, thanks to Karen and the La Lomita staff. They were incredibly gracious hosts, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. From accommodating breakfast times to fit our schedule to meticulously walking us through the wedding itinerary, every detail was thoughtfully handled, making our experience truly seamless. On the day of our larger wedding events, our guests loved the unique beauty and intimacy of the property. Karen and her team were always present and organized. They attended to the smallest details and helped in coordinating with our vendors to ensure everything ran smoothly. La Lomita was not just a venue; it was an experience that left a lasting impression on us and our guests. It was a dream come true and something we'll always look back on with the fondest memories. We are forever grateful for the magic that La Lomita brought to our special day and can't recommend it enough!

Yelp
Of we could, we'd stay longer at this ranch. This place wouldn't be the same without Darlene and her passion for food and all the homemade goodies she's made. We loved her service, her sweetness and her delicious homemade breakfast. A must go if you're headed north

Rebecca E.

Yelp
I had my wedding here a few weeks back and where to even begin... the site was stunning, the accommodations were jaw dropping and the staff was incredible, especially Karen who was so communicative. La Lomita blew myself, my family and all our guests away. We were treated with such care and got to enjoy the welcoming and naturally beautiful environment for the entire weekend. We could not be happier with our decision to host our wedding there, and I can't wait to stay at the Inn again down the line.

Yelp
The best bed and breakfast place I've stayed in. Stunning views, serene ambiance and tasty breakfast included! There are a lot of animals in the ranch (horses, cats, cows, ducks, frogs and more!) 10-15 minute drive to downtown or to the beach. Immensely pleased with our stay! Darlene IS THE BEST! Made us feel right at home, gave us great insight on activities to do, and a FANTASTIC FRITTATA COOK!

Yelp
We are absolutely satisfied with everything about this Ranch. We stayed 2 nights in the LaNovia room. Had extra space and a kitchenette. We are already looking forward to coming back. The breakfast with Darlene was amazing! She is so friendly and kind, and is a great chef. And she makes a great french press coffee in the morning. A plus was being able to see the animals on the ranch, Toby was our favorite horse. And the ranch cats were very welcoming as we checked in. Loved it. It was only about a half an hour from Paso Robles if you want to do some winetasting. Darlene also had some good suggestions of places to visit while we were there. Thank you again for an amazing stay!!

Chong N.

Yelp
We had an amazing time staying at the Ranch with our 14 friends. Everyone loved this place!!! It's so unique and wonderfully furnished. It's high end luxury at its best. The folks that worked there were so accommodating to everything I asked for. I would like to give Emma and Darlene credit for their great services. The owner Becca even poured wine for us at the tasting. We had so much fun with Becca and Emma at our tasting. One of the best experiences at a wine tasting. We had pretty much the whole place to ourselves. We would definitely go back to visit La Lomita Ranch again! Love this place.

Yelp
La Lomita Ranch was a unique and versatile venue for our SLO wedding - We enjoyed being able to have our entire wedding in one place, but have each element of the day feel different and utilize the beauty they've created on the ranch in these different areas. When we first visited, I feel in love with an area of the venue they hadn't built out yet but they said they would make it happen in time for mine, and wow was it a dream! I loved getting married in the Meadow, and by the time our day came, they had even built a stairwell down to the area which was just magical! My favorite part was being able to have our close friends stay on site with us, which made the weekend even more special and allowed us to savor it a bit more as the day goes by so so fast! Karen was such a great partner to us and our planner Janet Tacy throughout the process, working with new vendors and helping us make the venue feel uniquely ours that weekend. While we were on site. Darlene and the whole La Lomita Ranch staff took such great care of us -- we had the absolute best time and our guests were floored by how beautiful it all was - wish we could do it all again! Lastly, the wine, while a bit on the higher price point, was a favorite of our guests and was convenient and seamless if we had run out to get more. Great venue, wonderful staff, beautiful experience - highly recommend!

Sarah P.

Yelp
Beautiful family owned property with tasty wines. The owner let us in without a reservation and gave us a tasting with hefty pours. Highly recommend

Yelp
Perfection! The property is breathtaking in every way. There are beautiful views of the surrounding hills and nature at every turn. The grounds are gorgeous and our room was impeccably designed. The warmth of the staff, especially Darlene, makes you feel like you're home from the moment you arrive. Darlene prepares an amazing European style breakfast every morning to get your day off to a great start. Her frittatas are delicious and the French press coffee was so very good. I miss my morning walks around the peaceful pond...we will definitely be coming back!

Donna S.

Yelp
Our son's wedding was held here November 5th. We arrived on Thursday and had the whole facility for our group for the entire weekend. Darleen, who I believe is the facility manager was amazing. We were treated every morning to hot coffee, a great frittata, fresh fruit, granola, toast and homemade jam! A huge smile, and making sure we had everything we needed. The event coordinator Karen helped our daughter in law and son plan a perfect wedding. The grounds are beautiful. Everyone loved visiting and feeding carrots to the horses. Great place!

Yelp
This is a beautiful place with a great story and welcoming atmosphere. This is a newer place that has just recently opened, so this was our first trip but we plan to return. The facilities and surrounding landscape are truly stunning and a bit of knowledge of its history adds to its charm and underlines its historical significance. The Spanish style is clean and bright and casual. Linens are perfect luxury along with the incredible craftsmanship displayed at every turn through hand painted tiles, handcrafted furniture and woodwork throughout. The full breakfast was delightful and highest quality everything! We are pretty quiet people and enjoyed the peace of a walk around the pond and out on the hills,, but the owners are also wonderful and drew us right into the small group activities of wine tasting in the evening and a roaring fire afterward where we got to chat with other guests. We cannot wait to come back here! Its the best kept secret around and won't last long.Thank you to the family for their creative endeavor and the amazing staff who treated us like family and left us refreshed.

Yelp
Attended my cousin's wedding here, BEAUTIFUL resort with gorgeous horses & scenic views, the food offered was eclectic & delicious, staff super friendly & welcoming!

Yelp
My now husband and I had our wedding lunch at LLR and it was awesome. My mom originally found this hidden gem after our original venue cancelled on us and we do not regret it. This place is beautiful, the staff are so nice, the grounds are well-kept, and simply awesome. We worked closely with Karen beforehand and on-site, Darlene and Brielle, who were so nice and hospitable. They made it so easy to have a small lunch and being outdoors was great for everyone to feel comfortable. I highly suggest this place to visit and hold your events there. Here are a few pictures from the family of LLR and what it has to offer. Thanks LLR for a fabulous time.

Brennon K.

Yelp
We spent a weekend here with our kids. The property is stunning and super refreshing to be surrounded by cows, ducks, birds, horses and emus (from afar!). Darlene is so joyful and caring. You can tell she loves where she works. So glad they took care of breakfast too! It was wonderful! We did a wine tasting with Becca, the owner. Not many venues like this where the owner cares enough to hang out and pour for their clients. She looks you in the eye, loves and respects people and was a joy to talk with. La Lomita is the only place we'd stay in when visiting SLO. We'll be back for sure.

Yelp
Super cute property - an operating ranch with horses, emus, and goats, along with a vineyard. Rooms are in concerted stables and are nicely appointed. Brielle was on site taking care of us and she did a marvelous job. We will be back to the area and La Lomita will be part of our travel plans. We will need to see the new event space they are in the process of building and which looked great already.

Yelp
We just attended a wedding at this spectacular venue. As guests we spent two nights in the La Gracia room. It is one of the smaller rooms but was very comfortable for two people. Being early risers we headed to the breakfast lounge each morning for a cup of coffee while Darlene began preparing a delicious breakfast spread which included frittata, fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, fresh breads, and a tray of assorted cheeses and deli meats. We took morning walks around the pond while stopping to visit the cows and emus. In the barn we said hello to Toby, a friendly cutting horse who enjoyed the carrots we offered. The wedding ceremony was held on the courtyard lawn overlooking the pond and surrounding hills. They have a newly built impressive event hall where the reception took place. There is also a bocce court and corn hole set for entertainment. Highly recommend and hope to stay here again!

Sophie G.

Yelp
La Lomita Ranch is the best! The location, staff, rooms, breakfasts, and property are unbeatable. Darlene and Bree make the stay unforgettable as they supply guests with everything they need. The property is in a perfect location, close to the town of SLO, but it still feels like you are in the country. The animals on the property are a fun perk of the stay as well! There are horses, cows, kittens, and emus. The rooms are clean and cute with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. The breakfasts are all homemade and delicious also. I highly recommend staying at LLR!
