La Lonja del Mar

It's really a seafood restaurant, but I was in the mood for a burger. Wasn't the best I'd had but meat was high quality and fries were really nice. Given a bowl of nuts when seated at the table. Staff was very friendly and spoke English. Wine by the glass was decent. The location and view are very relaxing compared to most of the city with great outdoor seating. An artist was painting the area while I ate lunch.

We saw a recommendation by Patsy Ruiz on YouTube, especially the 'best cheesecake in the world' as stated on the menu. The whole meal was a disappointment. The crab lasagne was small and the sauce was cooling and skinned when it arrived - with no vegetables so not a dinner-sized portion for the money. The 'traditional paella' was burnt onto the bottom of the pan and we really should have sent it back. We had one last gamble with the cheesecake, which tasted too strongly of savoury cheese for our liking and was in fact one of the worst cheesecakes I have ever had, especially for €10.50. To cap it all the staff then tried to overcharge to €11.50 saying 'the price on the menu has changed'. Just awful, the worst restaurant experience for a long time.

The experiences was extremely terrible, not only the food and the service, but also the confused price and menu. First, don’t trust the target on the menu which writes things like “best oyster in Spain”, there are so many other restaurants provide much better seafood with much lower price. The seafood served in all dishes were not fresh at all, it doesn’t seem like the quality of seafood that would be served in Madrid at this price. Second, there is a huge problem with the price and menu that can be count as cheating customers. They have two sets of menu, which one is showing the normal dishes, but another is a huge “conspiracy”, I ask for a dish with a picture shown on the google map by the customer who used to eat at this restaurant, they said ok. But they didn’t tell us that the price of this dish is count in another way in a different menu and they also didn’t tell us anything about how many each seafood was added nor the weight. They told us nothing about this dish. But when it comes to pay for the bill, we found that we don’t know how the payment of this dish goes as it completely didn’t mentioned by the servers nor the menu. And then, they took out another set of the menu said that they count in that different way. This was really fraudulent and tricky. WHAT IS EVEN MORE FUNNY is that when we try to ask for a reasonable reason for why this happened that we were not provided with the second menu with clear price. The servers gave us very ridiculous reasons like “our boss told us not to show this more expensive menu, because this will give customers unfriendly experience”. And what is even more unexpected is that when we ask is it a right thing that the restaurant supposed to provide the accurate menu with clear price of each dish for the customer? The manager said “ NO”. They continue to justify that they are right to not to provide the full set of menu to us with clear prices on. AMONG ALL THE COMMENTS SHOWN ON GOOGLEMAP, this is not the first time that these things happened. It doesn’t deserve at all.

🦐 We were recommending to come here from our Concierge at the hotel as we were in the mood for seafood. 🦐 We are visiting from Texas and a word of advice, dinner is served late here. We got here at 8:10 pm and they were just opened and don’t even have their first guest yet, so come later. 🦐 We ordered the clams, shrimp, prawns, fish, and octopus. Our server was exceptional and service was top notch. We were the only one at the restaurant until around 9:30pm. 🦐 Really loved how fresh and how correct the shrimp and prawns came out. Some may say that it’s undercooked but this is how shrimp suppose to be like. Not well done. The clams were cooked right in front of us on a stove with all the ingredients and serve hot with a garlic wine sauce. 🦐 Overall I loved how gorgeous the view overlooking the jardin and palace. The service was perfect, every plate was delicious, and the ambience was cozy, intimate, and peaceful. Highly recommended 5/5 🌟

A fantastic dinner! Great treating from the waiters, they had attention and had good humour and smile! The shellfish was super tasty, pulpo had great flavours and texture. And the view on the opera is stunning. We had a great time!

We loved the location right beneath the royal palace. The restaurant is part of a gastronomic trias of restaurant taverna and bar. Fresh and lovely fish and seafood were well prepared and delicious. We enjoyed oysters and different shrimps and gambas to taste a perfectly cooked beef in madeira-pepper sauce. Desserts (chocolate cake and creme brulee) were perfect, as the wine was. Thanks for a lovely last night in Madrid.

Lovely place with view of Palacio. Had outdoors terrace with sprinklers so its possible to sit even its boiling. Food was delicious. Service was ok slightly slow even restaurant was pretty empty. Quiet pricey for what you get, but quality was good.

We came on a Sunday night in January with a reservation. The staff we worked with were incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. They brought the fresh fish out for us to view and make a selection from. The food was excellent and we had a wonderful view of the palace from the second floor at night. ¡Muchas gracias por todo!
