"We went to La Lopa for our last Pugliese meal, and had orecchiette di grano arso with dandelion and pane di matera con bruschetta. Burnt orecchiette is worth trying, as it harkens to the philosophy of the cuisine of the region: Waste nothing, making something out of anything."

Finally got to try the famous Matera bread here and we loved it! We had the Lucanian pork cheek and the orecchiette with ragu - both were delicious, but the pork cheek especially blew our minds. It was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great local food experience in Matera!

We had dinner as a party of four and enjoyed a great meal with very welcoming and attentive service. There was a cinema in the basement that showed clips of different movies that were filmed in Matera over the years. Some going back to the 70’s

Incredible dinner experience with a romantic ambiance. Amazing food, specifically the sheep stew (La Pignata) and the Fava Bean Cream with chicory and Crusco (crushed red pepper). The local bottle of Primitivo we had from the Matera region was outstanding! Service was lovely and all the food was extremely flavourful and cooked perfectly. There is even a small cinema in the basement of the restaurant, where they have a short film featuring all the movies that have been filmed in Matera!

Amazing restaurant, the service was great! Gluten-free options available. They also have a theatre room in the bowels of restaurant. A bit pricey however

The great advantage of this restaurant is its nice interior. Additionally, a nice idea is a room with a projector showing fragments of films shot in Matera. Unfortunately, the food disappointed us. Maybe because it was highly recommended? For us it was just average. The service was also different - from a nice waiter to one discouraged by his workload. We expected something more for this money. If you charge 4 Euro for an espresso, make sure you provide better service to your guests.

What a wonderful experience at La Lopa! The atmosphere is super friendly and warm, whether for lunch or dinner. The baccalà appetizers were delicious and incredibly fresh. We then ordered the local entrecôte, which was of truly great quality, and the cooking was perfect! We paired it with a local aglianico. Our server informed us that the meat was sourced from the region. He was super efficient and friendly, which contributed to the great service. The place is beautiful—I'd describe it as chic yet relaxed. It has an original vibe while still feeling authentic. We also loved the little cinema in the basement, which adds a unique touch to the charm of the restaurant. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great food and a cozy vibe!

the place is pretty, the food is pretty good, except the starter with fried vegetables… The pasta was okay and the wine too. However, I put my downside on the waiter who spoke very quickly, giving the impression of being impatient, and we made our choices a little hastily, without thinking too much. I don't like being rushed, let alone feeling forced to choose something...we also waited at least 40 minutes for our main dish...I don't know what happened. It's a decent restaurant but I won't necessarily go back there.
