La Luna restaurant is very high quality dining. My husband and I stayed at the Gaia Hotel, and ate breakfast here every day, and dinner most nights of our visit. The menus have a wide selection of choices that suit any diet, and the quality was always excellent. They take pride in their service and the dishes they prepare. In addition to the main menus, they also have a full sushi menu that does not disappoint. And their chocolate lava cake was to die for! Ricardo, Andrey, Brandon and the rest of the staff were amazingly kind and genuine, as was everyone we met while we were there. We felt like family as they welcomed us in by name and remembered our preferences and even our favorite table. The view from the restaurant is surreal and the sunsets are breathtaking! I definitely recommend!

Lunch was an excellent experience. Service was amazing. The golf cart ride while coming and leaving was so fun. Appetizer was tasty and so was the main dish. The view was so beautiful.

The food is very good, they have fresh seafood which is delicious. The staff is very nice. But this place is an excellent place for sunsets.

I stayed at the Gaia Hotel and ate at La Luna for breakfast, dinner and drinks. This is a MUST during your stay in Manuel Antonio. The view of the mountains/jungle and ocean is insanely beautiful, coupled with the most exquisite food. You can even see parrots, monkeys, and sloths right on the property. Amongst my whole family we tried almost everything on the menu for both breakfast and dinner and we were never disappointed (quite the opposite). Aside from all that, the attention to detail that the staff take to provide excellent service is so amazing. From the moment you enter the property to the way your plates are plated, and more. I highly advise everyone to come eat here and if you can, stay at the hotel too. My pictures don’t do it justice.

I’m not entirely sure this is the correct location because we went to the rooftop lounge. We originally went to La Luna where we were taken via a golf cart from the parking lot. When we sat down and mentioned to the server that we’d just be having a drink, he told us we would enjoy the rooftop lounge and he took us there. This server was amazing, he took us there and then passed our drink order along to the server at the lounge. The lounge was outdoors with a roof. There was also a little garden section where we were informed they grow their own veg. The drinks we had were delicious but very overpriced. We paid $32 for 2 drinks which was the most we spent on 2 drinks in Costa Rica. It was worth it for the experience as there were panoramic views, so stunning and would be lovely at sunset. The bartender showed us a tree right nearby that a couple of macaws often chill in though we didn’t get to see them

We arrived at La Luna without a reservation at the last of twilight. Anything earlier, lighter and brighter would have been amazing in terms of a sunset! Our server was Johnny and he was excellent. He was knowledgeable of all different food options. We enjoyed both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and finished dinner off with flan. I did not realize that La Luna was part of the Gaia hotel. You cannot get to La Luna without going into the Gaia. Street parking was virtually non-existent and you have to drive up by narrow drive to a gate for the hotel in order to be parked and ushered up to the restaurant. The golf cart ride was steep but fun! We would return in a heartbeat!

We didn’t stay at the hotel but came specifically for La Luna because it was highly recommended. By the time we were seated at 7:30 and got our appetizers and drinks it was 8:30pm, it felt like they forgot about us or the staff was definitely overwhelmed. The food tasted fresh but the seasoning was off, we got the two most recommended plates and the fish was so salty we had to send it back. The pasta tasted alright but honestly, it’s like going to a chain restaurant in the US but paying top dollar for it. The two appetizers we got were better than the main courses. I wouldn’t say you’re missing much if you decide to skip this restaurant.

My husband and I dined frequently at La Luna during our recent stay at Gaia Hotel. We ate breakfast each morning during our stay, ate lunch/midday meal twice, and dinner three times. First, the service is top notch. Every single server was so helpful and kind. While I speak a little bit of Spanish, my husband does not but it did not matter - all servers we encountered were bilingual. All we had to do was ask and our request was met. Second, the view is amazing. You have a panoramic view of the area and often see an array of birds flying by. One morning a group of macaws flew by, another day it was a lone toucan. Ceiling fans keep the air flowing so even on hot days you are comfortable while you dine. The food was very good - all very fresh and prepared well. We live in an area known for good food and we were impressed with each dish. We did not find the prices unbelievable (as noted in some reviews) but again, we live in an area where good food does cost more. I also found the portions to be quite generous - higher end cuisine but without the teeny tiny portions. I kept forgetting to take photos during our meals (too busy eating!) but high points were the calamari salad with an incredible sauce, a Costa Rican stew which was so feeling and homey, and a Costa Rican breakfast.
