Just the right salt of avocado pesto sandwich, and the espresso is brewed well. Overall, delicious. The cafe had improved so, with piano and Italian aesthetics for indoor and outdoor, and the staff handle greatly than last time. I would come again and taste many coffee brews and good sandwiches.

Nice setting, good music. This place could be so much more. We did dine it, but were served our food in Togo containers and plates. Food definitely average. Good coffee. Cardinal rules violated - Cappuccino was more like a latte - Uncooked pastry at the bottom of the quiche This place probably caters to students There is a Philz next door :-)

This review is primarily for their new Mediterranean Bowl Bar. I work nearby so have stopped at this quaint cafe to pick up a pastry in the past. I noticed the other day that they had some new Mediterranean Salad Bowl so I went in to check it out. Turns out, they just started doing a Chipotle-style build your bowl. The lady who helped me was so nice and walked me through all the options. All of the ingredients are homemade fresh there and I must say, I was very impressed. You get to pick a base, main, 3 dips, toppings, and a dressing. I opted for 1/2 quinoa/greens, 1/2 chicken/grilled veggies, hummus, tzatziki, feta, pickled onions, cabbage, pickles, olives. For dressing, I tried the creamy garlic. The bowl size was huge and everything was delicious! It’s a small place, so seating can be a little limited, but definitely will be back to pickup another salad bowl. It’s so nice to have another healthy bowl option in the area that offers fresh ingredients. I hope they continue to offer this.

We go here on the weekends. Parking can be tough but is worth it. I really like their sandwiches. My husband likes the turkey bistro on baguette. It’s healthy and uses good quality ingredients. My favorite is the chicken pecan sandwich in croissant. Very creamy and not too sweet. Has apples which give it a nice crunch. The place has new ownership but has made a lot of improvements to the place such as self order kiosk. This allows the workers to focus on making sandwiches and drinks quicker. But from what I can tell the improved efficiency doesn’t mean lower quality. The staff are super sweet and friendly. They always have a smile and seem to really enjoy working their.

Not sure why the low reviews. To be honest, I enjoyed this cafe! It is small, yet if you get a table it’s very comfortable with WiFi and outlets. The iced honey matcha latte was really good as well!

Google
Small sit-in or sit-out café. It's like an American café with San Jose flair. Student run front of house. Don't come expecting a Parisian brunch spot. The branding concept is *different* calling it La Lune Sucreé but then looking at the menu options, all that to say: you'll still enjoy it very much. You should know the tea is better than the coffee. Sandwich options are far less French. Fast and great service today. Refreshing pit stop. Reasonable prices to feed oneself on the go. Veggie options!! I got the vegan avocado pesto sandwich but I believe the croissant is made with dairy butter. So 3.5/4 stars.. French fried onions were a delightful surprise imo but definitely not French 😅 haha. Hope to see more vegan options as the place grows and tries out even more creative things ❤️ hint hint Hot For Food's recipe for a Monte Cristo... Would you consider it Owner? 😋😋😋😋

Google
Very pleasantly surprised to find a freshly baked pastry shop still active in downtown San Jose! I absolutely melt over a good almond croissant and theirs is no exception. Fully covered with slivered almonds and I’m pretty sure there was a bit of chocolate inside, too. With a cup of coffee you will be in heaven. Next time I will try to get there well before 20 minutes before close and check out the rest of their selection! There was outdoor seating in the alleyway where you could get some fresh air, too. *PS, nice to see a place with a grammatically correct foreign name! Feminine adjectives add an e in French so this place is 👌 in my book on that alone 😜 *

Google
Decent spot for coffee but nothing too special. I got an iced mocha which was pretty good, but the ice to drink ratio was a bit too high.

Yelp
I don't know where to begin with this gem of a place. I was walking around this area after work because I wanted something new to try before going to my first class of the day, and I found this cute cafe and thought "You know, I'll try it out. Why not?"... guys. Do NOT sleep on this place!! It's a small cafe with limited seatings inside and more outside, but the pastries, sandwiches, drinks, everything is SO GOOD! OMFGGGG I ordered their avocado pesto sandwich as my very first ever order here, and now, after every work shift I head straight here and order ONLY THAT. ITS SO GOOD YOU GUYS PLEASEEEE IM SO ADDICTED!!! Not only that, but they have BROWNIES. LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING!!! IT JUST KEES GETTING BETTER AND BETTER ‍ and with good food they have AMAZING service!! The owner is so sweet and kind, and the workers seem a little shy, but they are the sweetest ever!! I even put 5 friends of mine on this cafe and they love it so much, they're starting to come here more as well!! It's also very nice and quiet in here. The music isn't too loud, perfect volume, and a lot of students and teachers are here as well (as I am also a student typing this out heh). Perfect atmosphere for studying!! PS they also do student discount if you go to SJSU! So coooool and sweeeeet!!! Okay. That's enough from me. I hope I'm not forgetting anything... Anyways. 10000000/10. Support small businesses!!

Yelp
New owners, new menu and renovated interior add up to huge upgrades! All that's really the same is the location and the name. I really liked my classic latte and my ham, egg, and cheese sandwich on baguette. You could also choose to have it on a croissant. I'm excited to try their Mediterranean bowls for lunch.
google avatar

Anna S.

Yelp
with new owners the menu has changed a bit and is SO MUCH better and tasty! so many vegetarian options and their mediterranean bowl with their garlic sauce and yogurt sauce are SO SO good! portions are definitely worth the price! super friendly staff and the inside has been updated to a serene chic cozy space! definitely recommend!

Yelp
I got a locks bagel and it was really good!! The salmon tasted fresh, the bagel was fresh and the cream cheese was cream cheesing! And it had some onions and cucumber on top with thin tamari slice underneath the salmon. Very very yummy

Yelp
La Lune Sucree is a cute little cafe that was right downstair's from my friend's place, making it a convenient stop for a morning beverage to get the day going. A few food items are marked as vegetarian but nothing aside from the fruit cup is vegan, so I stuck with a drink this time around. I had a Lavender Matcha with Oat Milk ($6) and it was pretty good. My drink came as expected and they were kind enough to check and make sure the lavender syrup was vegan friendly. They have both an indoor and outdoor dining area and I could see myself working here for a few hours if there was wifi.

Jose R.

Yelp
A super cozy and friendly environment, the coffee is always good and I love the chicken sandwiches. It's a fun place to people watch or read a book

Yelp
The space is quiet and small, lovely for check ins with friends and mentors, probably not for homework. The staff was nice, the drinks are nice as well. It's a little difficult to compare drinks when Philz is poppin next door but when it comes to food, a decent sandwich at La Lune Sucree hits the spot. I haven't tried their sweets or pastries so I'll have to return for a better rounded review.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a nice, quaint coffee shop/cafe near the San Jose State University. It's not very big so there's not a lot of seating, but I find it's usually not difficult to land a spot since I don't think people stay in there too long. The drinks taste okay, I've ordered food from here before but it also was not too memorable. Even though you mainly order through a screen here now, the staff are still friendly and will greet you. I give it 4 stars since it is a decent place to come to have coffee and read if I have time before/in-between classes.

Yelp
I'm still a fan. This time I came in with the goal of trying a more unique sandwich. I chose the Turkey one which comes with cheese, Dijon and a pear/pomegranate jam. I added tomato and apple. The bread, like last time, was cold and gluey. They should not be serving gf bread straight out of the cooler. That aside, the sandwich was fine. I couldn't taste or even see the jam, which was sad! Tbh what saved the sandwich was me adding apple, which provided a slight sweetness that should have been provided by the jam. The Turkey itself was good and so was the mustard. Because I ordered gf, I got two normal-sized sandwiches as a replacement for the glutinous baguette. They were out of oatmilk so I got my strawberry cream matcha with soy this time, and they only had vanilla soy left. This soy is kind of gritty but otherwise the latte was just as good and tasty. I like how they give it to you in a brown paper bag, it's fun to see people get a sack lunch and be on their way. Since last I came, they are now using a kiosk self ordering system. It is easy to use and I think it's a good addition to make the baristas' lives easier. It gets extremely busy around 12 with a steep drop off after about 1220. I asked if I could use the one-free-scone checkin offer for something else since I can't have gluten. They gave me a drink!! So nice of them. As the reigning Duchess of La Lune Sucree, would come back!

Yelp
Was in the mood for a breakfast sandwich. Line at House of Bagels was too long, City Bagels is my alternative, but it was too far. Just so happened to pass by here and I'm glad I did. Melted into the couch with some soft jazz in the background. If you like your coffee sweet might need to ask for extra sugar, but the coffee quality and milk:coffee ratio was on point. Sandwich hit the spot as well. Slightly pricier than HoBags, but worth it if you want to avoid the line and have a more chill eat in experience.

Yelp
Cute little cafe near the SJSU campus. Loved it here! Very fast paced and friendly. They even had a self checkout service for customers, so minimal interaction, but I prefer it this way because I get nervous when ordering. Very great pastries and drinks. I hadnt had a mocha in a while, so getting here was so good because it was delicious!

Rachel K.

Yelp
We ordered two regular croissants and two chocolate croissants. We did not get any croissants. Instead, we received four breads labeled as croissants, once of which was not fully baked through. If dense breads are your thing, this is the place for you. If you were looking for flaky layers, please look elsewhere.
google avatar

Yelp
The crepes were fine - fillings met expectations, seasoned well. I would just say I think the crepes themselves could have been cooked a bit more - they felt a little borderline underdone. Service was friendly and efficient. The place itself is fine/standard from an ambiance standpoint. It's just hard to stand out in this type of crowded business. I wish the business well, but there's still some room for improvement.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute place near SJSU campus. Service was amazing! The owner was so sweet & gave us a discount for being SJ locals!
google avatar

Wes K.

Yelp
I was hanging out at SJSU and took a walk to see how its changed since going to school over there and right across from SJSU in the Paseo de San Antonio promenade i found this really cool cafe called La Lune Sucrée. Me and the lady and a few friends ordered some food. I went with the Turkey sanwich on a croissant and a Bada Bing Cherry Apple Cider to wash it down, the lady went with the avocado toast. The turkey sandwich was really delicious on the crossiant which was nice and fresh and the Bada Bing Hard Cherry Apple Cider paired good with the taste. The lady's avocado toast looked pretty good so i had to take a bite out of it which tasted bomb! Definitely a spot worth checkin out if you need a quick bite to eat in between classes at SJSU, or just chillin downtown.

Yelp
This place is under new management and from what I'd been able to try today, I'll be coming back regularly. Their tomato soup was a stand out. It wasn't overpowered by cream or other flavors. Smooth texture, great flavor and I just wish I'd ordered a grilled cheese to go with it. The Brie & Honey Ham on a croisant was very good as well. All of the ingredients went well together and blended into the perfect bite till the sandwich was gone. There's a selection of locally made sodas that didn't have all kinds of weird ingredients. I was able to try the rootbeer and cherry/tarragon flavors and I wasn't disappointed. Local hard ciders are also available if you are looking to get a little tipsy during lunch.

Yelp
Cafe food and atmosphere is excellent, definitely a spot to relax and unwind. Friendly staff and warm environment pleasant outdoor eating area, the pastries and drinks are really good. I got the avocado pesto sandwich, breakfast Benedict and ice strawberry matcha and other goodies. Nothing but pleasant experience, definitely will be back!!
google avatar

Jimena G.

Yelp
I've come here about a handful of times and I'm pretty satisfied with the overall service. I normally get the ham and brie sandwich on a croissant or the ham, egg, and cheese on a croissant. Both are super yummy! For coffee, I keep it pretty simple with either a vanilla latte or mocha. The only thing is when I order an iced coffee, it sometimes comes out a little warmer than I would like. Overall the atmosphere is really nice! They have art hanging and music playing but not too loud. I've been to coffee shops where the music is blasting so it can be overstimulating. The employees are nice too! Definitely check them out!

Yelp
I was running some errands in downtown San Jose and wanted to pick up some coffee before I headed home. I decided on Philz and while I was walking by, I noticed a sign for fresh, authentic European pastries here, so I had to stop by. I saw that they had offered some yummy lunch options, but I just wanted to try some pastries first. I took a look at their baked good section and decided to get a slice of their Oreo cheesecake, chocolate walnut loaf, and the earl grey loaf ($14 total). The Oreo cheesecake was really light in flavor. I didn't taste much of the Oreo, despite a full cookie and some cookie pieces covering it. It wasn't too sweet but also didn't taste like cheesecake either. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. Unfortunately, when I was taking the 2 loafs out of my bag, I saw that I was given the matcha white chocolate chip loaf instead of the earl grey. I don't like white chocolate at all, so I wasn't able to try the entire thing. I did try the chocolate walnut loaf and it was very underwhelming. The texture was soft and spongy, but I was really thrown off by the large, whole pieces of walnuts instead of it being broken down to smaller pieces. I usually am a huge fan of small, local cafes and love to support small businesses, but I'm not sure I'll be back.
google avatar

Rio M.

Yelp
I love that everyone here is usually nice, but every time I order a cappuccino I just get something like a poorly frothed latte. :( also give the "European" concept, but I think that it offering ceramic or *any* kind of in-house cups would make sense, no? But, not too bad of a choice if you just need caffeine and a place to study.
google avatar

Yelp
If you are debating on what food item to order.... get the Grilled Chicken Aioli BUT on a croissant! It is so yummy and filling! The lady that was ringing me up was also very sweet (-:
google avatar

Shirin B.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick breakfast sandwich and got it with the croissant. Overall pretty good but they do take quite some time to send out the food and their prices are steep.
google avatar

Alex G.

Yelp
We found the store to be very limited in options and not reflective of what's on the website. They had a single case of 4 croissants (plain, chocolate, almond) and each of the two cold cases held only canned drinks. We ordered the chicken aioli sandwich, which was supposed to come on a baguette, and was given to us on a croissant. The chicken was precooked and mushy. We enjoyed our croissants, but they were not fresh, flaky, buttery ones that you expect. More dense and bready. There was one person working in the shop, who told us we can order off an iPad in front of the counter (obviously with a tip screen at the end, even though we were ordering ourselves). Overall, disappointing. We threw the sandwich away and went somewhere else for lunch, took a $14 loss but it was basically inedible.
google avatar

Kaitlyn B.

Yelp
This place has little seating, but it's very cute! Service was a bit slow on taking my order, but I wasn't in a rush. Every time I visit this spot, the service has always been polite. The menus inside don't have clear pricing for all items, especially beverages. I think the menus need to be updated to accurately reflect the costs. I usually come here for the brie and honey ham sandwich, but this time wasn't as good as I remembered. The sandwich was cold like it came straight out of the fridge, so make sure you ask for the sandwich toasted if you don't want to bite into a cold block of brie. The sandwich was also too salty for my taste this time. The food here is simple and good, but it can be hit-or-miss.
google avatar

Deb N.

Yelp
Buyer beware on gluten free. These didn't Look gf. I ended up throwing away. Disappointing.
google avatar

Alisa B.

Yelp
A bit pricey for the portions, but there's no doubt that everything I ordered was tasty. I ordered a German Musli, 2 crepes, and an Italian Prosciutto sandwich. Everything tasted great and I waited about 5 minutes. Also I got a scone for free with a Yelp check-in. This is a really cute place to study, catch up with friends, or just chill in between classes. It has a pretty quiet atmosphere. It's right next to SJSU campus, so expect lots of college students on the San Antonio Walkway. Overall the cashier was friendly and the atmosphere is pretty laid back. I'll probably be back if I want a pastry before class!
google avatar

Diana P.

Yelp
I go here ALL the time. Normally, it isn't too busy. It's so convenient how it's right by SJSU campus so I can avoid waiting long lines at Starbucks. Keep in mind, they do close early (3 PM). I love how the interior gives me French cafe vibes. Normally, I get the breakfast benedict with their croissant (keep it mind once you take a bite there's crumbs everywhere)!! Super delish, but I would say their chai latte is a scam. I got the large and sizing wise compared to other stores, this portion was WAYYY too small. Personally, I love my lattes with strong flavor of tea. For this, it was VERY watered down. Not only that, my drink wasn't filled up to the top. For two items, my order came out to be ~$17. Yikes. For cheaper options, I would definitely go to Starbucks or Philz's Coffee and wait the longer line.
google avatar

Mikayla P.

Yelp
I had a quiche craving, so I had to try this place out. The interior was overwhelmingly warm, so my friend and I had to sit outside. The staff were very welcoming and they brought the food to us. The pastries all looked delicious, but I came to try the quiche. The quiche was absolutely delicious. It was nice and warm while the crust was flaky. Every bite was delicious and the ratio of ham and mushroom to egg was perfect 5/5. The mocha is definitely on the sweet side and the latte was standard The Bavarian quiche is the way to go. Definitely coming back soon just for the quiche!!!
google avatar

Yan L.

Yelp
Came in here after going to Philz and looked around and out of the six deserts and pastries they had I decided to get a vanilla bean scone. Tasted great the dough was very dense and tasted sweet. You can also use your yelp checkin for a free scone! This place also had food and drinks, not much variety for the pastries though so not worth a visit for them alone.

Clark R.

Yelp
There is no front of house person to take your order or talk to you. Just a Kiosk iPad. There were things on there menu that weren't even available to buy on the Kiosk. Extremely frustrating experience. Did not buy anything. Lady came up and didn't even say hello or anything. Hard to get anyones attention.
google avatar

Vandy K.

Yelp
Excellent place to grab lunch or a drink and relax. I tried the very tasty prosciutto sandwich and highly recommend it. Nice vibe and great music, conveniently located close to San Jose State University too. I'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu!
google avatar

Guy K.

Yelp
In A Nutshell: -La Lune Sucree aka The Sweet Moon is a great place to grab some breakfast. -The little outdoor patio parallel to the Paseo de San Antonio makes for a picture perfect scene reminiscent of your favorite "arrondissement" in Paris. -Now to the food, if you like crepes there are plenty of choices here. -Their avocado toast is delicious along w/ their Breakfast Bendict. -They also love dogs here & while we were dining they offered to give our dog some chicken..how awesome is that! Overall, this a nice taste of France right here in DTSJ (Downtown San Jose)!

T N.

Yelp
Loved, loved, loved the Avocado Pesto ! The menu had a litany of things I wanted to try. There was just the right amount of pesto and the avocado was nice and fresh. The service was excellent as everyone was friendly and helpful. Would definitely be back to try other appetitizing items on the menu! Kudos to the chef!

Lettie B.

Yelp
I enjoyed a lavender matcha latte that was perfectly sweet, along with a roast beef sandwich on quality baguette with just the right amount of meat. The cafe's interior showcased local art and photographs, and a cool shelf displaying vinyl records. The new owners, friendly and from San Jose, have made a great impression.
google avatar

Janet L.

Yelp
Located in DTSJ, in that small strip of stores. I was getting coffee nearby, so I wanted to stop by here to grab a really quick breakfast too. Inside the shop, there's some seating for those who want to sit down and enjoy their food/drink, but I think it's also popular as just a to-go type of place. Not much staff when I came, so service was a bit slow. I ordered the breakfast benedict on a baguette. It was okay. The baguette was warm and toasty. Everything else was kind of bland for me. The hollandaise sauce was good, but overall it wasn't anything too special. Still a good size for the sandwich, and a good complement to morning coffee though.
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
I was very disappointed in my salmon sandwich. The dill was old and gross and should have never been placed on a sandwich that was sold to a customer. Then the salmon was not fresh, had dark spots and was so chewy I couldn't even eat it. Had to remove all of it and throw it away. It was poor quality salmon and way too old to have been served. Spent $13 on an inedible sandwich
google avatar

Lori T.

Yelp
I order breakfast catering from La Lune Sucree often for work and it's always SO so good. Every time I order, employees stop me in the hall to ask where I got the food from (which never happens with other places). The quiches are incredible (must try!), as well as the pastries. Bulk boxes coffee is pretty decent, too. If you're in the area or in the mood for legit breakfast items, I highly recommended trying La Lune Sucree!
google avatar

Anna N.

Yelp
I previously went here with my cousin and sister for lunch and I remember that the service was super slow. I didn't go back after that, but I was just in the area for philz. We were sitting nearby and we smelled something coming from this place. We had to find out what it was bc it smelled delicious. It was the croissant! Once we found out, we ordered it and were pleasantly surprised. Omg, it was warm, buttery, and flaky. It was SO good. I also tried the almond croissant and it was even better. Their croissants have changed me and I will definitely come back for more!
google avatar

Michele C.

Yelp
This cute restaurant is in the Paseo de San Antonio near the light rail station close to SJSU. The inside has simple country French style decor, with items on chalkboards. I tried the Moon Over Sweden crepe, which has chicken, brandy and Parmesan cheese --a savory crepe. The crepe is folded and has nice chunks of white meat chicken. You can actually taste the brandy in the sauce, and the cheese added to the savory taste. I didn't have coffee but that would make it a meal. Outdoor seating is available. It doesn't seem as busy as some of the other places nearby.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
Pretty disappointing all around. They were out of the first thing I wanted so I ordered the turkey bistro and a croissant. It took about 15 minutes for what can be described, at best, as food you'd get from a middle school cafeteria when the power goes out. Room temp, slightly stale bread, low quality turkey and cheese, and questionable quality jam. My partner got an omelette that looked even worse. They forgot my croissant so my partner asked again for it, and they didn't even offer to warm it up or anything. If I'm going to a "European" cafe I'm assuming at least the croissants would be warm and flaky. These are pulled from a plastic display case, room temp, and dense.
google avatar

Izzi S.

Yelp
Service is always slow and menu items feel like ingredients slapped together with no cohesion. I ordered the brie apple sandwich and it was literally thick, unmelted slices of brie with slices of apple on a baguette. For $9. I could make something much better at home for significantly less. Every time I come here for convenience I am disappointed. The crepes are okay, but nothing special.

Yelp
Their croissants are super delicious! Yummy breakfast sandwiches and great catering service! I got my coworkers hooked on their scrumptious offerings! My go to when I'm downtown at Christmas in the Park!

Kylene M.

Yelp
The service and vibe of the place is so slay. Kayleen helped me and was super sweet! I love how they make the Benedict sandwich on baguette. 10/10 reccomend

Dennis N.

Yelp
Mark l, I hope you're managing to keep an eye on your customers because many people who visit cafes in the morning will try to sneak out without paying. They can't be trusted. So keep a close eye on your customers always, especially the senior citizens because they are the worst.
google avatar

Regina Z.

Yelp
Moon Over Italy; Bomb.com!!! My favorite! I like to have the strawberries on the side so Breakfast Benedict on a croissant with an extra ham is so good! The hollandaise sauce is on point! Nutella Puff; flakey and just enough nutella. Fruit Tart; really yummy Bavarian Signature Quiche; solid

Tim A.

Yelp
The atmosphere were really good. The service is impeccable. I really enjoyed the delicious food.

Yelp
I like this place the cute small interior is interesting and saw they were a cafe in downtown. I got a nice matcha latte and a fluffy and generous almond muffin. Both great. The latte recipe was well balanced with matcha sugar and coffee. I would come here again and try more food off the menu. The staff here are friendly and they are sweet and attentive I like that. 5 star LLS. Nice quiet place to reflect and get a breakfast for the day.
