The location is great. We loved the view over Ngor island and a morning walk through the village. The service is alright. Some fuss with us getting our change after we paid them (they somehow did not have any cash and seemed to expect the change as tip). Rooms were fine, breakfast also fine. Unfortunately there is a big unfinished construction next door that blocks all the sun in the morning. All together, a little pricey for what you get. Would've rated higher if cheaper.

Our stay at this hotel was far from pleasant. The cleanliness left much to be desired, with stained sheets and a clogged bathroom faucet. Despite paying extra for breakfast, it was almost non-existent: incredibly scarce, barely varied, and in such tiny portions that we had to ask for refills twice. The staff did not appreciate our requests. The breakfast consisted of two teaspoons of jam, two small butter packs, and a basket full of bread—nothing else. While the location is convenient for visiting the nearby island, communication was a real challenge as the staff did not speak English. Paying 228 euros for two nights, a washing machine, and a “breakfast” was simply outrageous. Definitely not worth it.

Nice hotel with an amazing location overlooking Ngor Beach with a view of Ngor Island. The patio is a great place to eat as well as spend hours watching the activity on the beach. The staff is friendly and attentive. Some do not speak English well, but that was easily overcome using Google Translate.|The room was very spacious and comfortable. Our room had a view of the water and a balcony to enjoy the view and the breeze. The bathroom was large and included essential amenities.|Breakfast was optional on our plan. It was a basic continental breakfast consisting of various breads, sweet rolls, jams, cheese, etc. You can also opt to have dinner there. We had a delicious chicken jollof rice dinner.|The hotel is very close to the spot on the beach where you catch a ferry to Ngor Island. I would stay here again, and I recommend to others.

We stayed 3 nights so my husband could dive after a cruise on Le Dumont d'Urville, a new Ponant ship, and we were happy with the experience. The monkey and pelican have gone, and the birds quiet down when the covers are put on their cage. The dog and cats are not an issue. We had that 2nd floor room with the little balcony, overlooking the beach and N'gor, and it was spacious and comfortable. Having to get on the floor to use the safe was not so good. The A/C worked well (one day was ~100F), and the internet was fast and uninterrupted. Service was uniformly good.||||Breakfast was a bit expensive, but the pastries were excellent, every bit as good if not better than the pastries on the ship, which is known for its cuisine. Isabelle cooked an excellent dinner for us one night, which she will do on request, and she provided very good sandwiches for lunch. ||||The decor was appealing, and local in style. I doubt we'll ever be back in Dakar, but I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone with a bit of an adventurous streak.

Bad structure where to sleep in Dakar !!! Let's start with cleanliness: the rooms are not cleaned regularly. We had slept in this structure 10 days before arriving in Senegal and we returned for the last night before leaving again. We found a handkerchief on the floor that I had dropped and sand on the floor just as the room had been left. Also the sheets were dirty and in addition there was hair from other guests, who apparently had slept after us, in that bed. Also on the bed I noticed insects that are found in the feathers of birds or poultry. Faced with the evidence of the dirty floor and the request to change the sheets, we had to insist on the change of sheets, which was done, but the floor was not cleaned. Sufficient breakfast, but an extra cup of tea is charged extra. The structure is not centrally located and also there are animals that wander around inside and are not cleaned regularly. In front of the main entrance to the facility there is a terrible smell of poultry droppings. The staff are rude and surly . A vegetarian dish based on two slices of melon, a couple of raw vegetables and rice cost 25 euros! To be avoided absolutely!

We stayed at Maison Abaka for 6 nights. Everything was perfect. We had the pleasure of spending New Years Eve at Maison Abaka together with Isabelle and her daughter and some other guests. We had a lovelely dinner, and a nice evening with drinks, dance and laughter.||||We got to the hotel through a chauffeur organized by Isabelle. The ride from the airport Blaise Diagne took about 50 minutes without ttraffic jam. We were welcomed by Isabelle, her lovely staff Basquette, watch dog of the house and two cats. We conversed in French, but English is no problem at all. We had a lovely spacious room on the 2nd floor which also had a small kitchen with a fridge. The room was tastefully decorated, with good aircondiotion and ceiling fan. Our room faced a big terrace with a jacuzzi and cozy sitting area shared with Isabelle, her daughter and other guests. Also there are two huge cages with Elvis, Albert, Zaz and some more birds.||On the groundfloor you find the reception and several terraces, one around the pool, anothe a few steps higher facing the beach and Île de N‘Gor. Here you also have the bar and dining area. Here we had nice breakfasts with good coffee aswell as lovely dishes, mostly freash seafood but you could ask for salads or beef.||||In the souterrain you‘ll find Nautilus, the PADI dive centre. Very friendly and highly convenient if you want to dive!||||In the reception area you find a small exhibition with Senegalese art, carvings and decorative items which you can also buy. We were quite happy to get a few items here because the assistant will leave you cpmpletely alone, a shopping experience that is hard to come by.||||In front of the hotel is a small square with two little shops and a school. A few steps to the left is a larger place where you find more shops, restaurants and taxis.||||Last not least we want to mention Isabelle‘s boat which she uses for fishing or to get somewhere along the coast. ||||We‘d like to thank everybody at Maison Abaka for giving us such a wonderful time! Dear Isabelle, Alexandra, Libas, Cher, dear Hilda, Amadou, Christophe and Frédéric, we wish you guys all the best and would love to see y‘all again sometime!

We stayed 3 nights because the convenience of dive club on site. The place is quaint being directly on the beach and with a lively neighborhood with a couple of good local restaurants around. Friendly atmosphere and colorful decor. But a bit pricey for the quality of the installation. The pool was out of service during our stay and there are lots of flies and mosquitoes on the terrace. Breakfast and coffee should be included in the price.

I have chose this hotel for its proximity to the Ngor Diarama hotel as we had a conference there during the time of the stay. First of all, we arrived super early (around 8 am) and they checked us in after 30 min without paying anything extra. the staff is so friendly and very helpful. The only issue is the breakfast, it was practically the same every day (bread, croissant, variety of jams, cheese, butter, juice and tea/coffee). But overall i loved the place and will be glad to come and stay again here.
