"Maison de la Fôret While Switzerland’s luxurious, modern cities exemplify its affluence, it’s high up in the mountains where the country’s traditions lie. To experience authentic Alpine life, travel up to La Tzoumaz in Valais and hike the senses trail in the Maison de la Fôret. You can walk the 1.6-mile path, which winds through forests and meadows, smelling the Swiss pine bark, listening for the squawk of the nutcracker, and tasting wild blueberries. Afterward, drop in tothe Maison de la Fôret museum, which holds fascinating information about the area’s wildlife. It’s only open from May 28 through September 28, however, so plan your visit accordingly."
Great place for a walk with a toddler or a pushchair. Amazing nature, available places for grilling, great path for shorter hike. One warning, visiting in mid May might be still too early.

Really nice and beautiful place. Went there this summer and stayed for 4 days. There is a kid friendly park where you can hike and have picnic. Highly suggested if you want a very quiet and peacefull place to stay for some days. All the services are available in the nearby town.

Adorable little "buvette" at the trailhead of a few hikes, including 'le sentier des sens' which is excellent for kids (all based on the 5 senses and learning about the forest). This cafe serves hot drinks (try the warm apple juice, perfect for a chilly day) and simple but delicious seasonal food. We had the soup and tart if the day, and apple crumble for dessert and it was all delicious. There's a little extra room to sit upstairs, with some activities for kids, and an exhibition of animals from the forest which is very well done. Lovely warm gender neutral toilets with baby changing facilities too. Oh and a playground outside amongst the picnic tables. We'd have gone every day if we could :-)

This place is a dream. The food is amazing, the staff very friendly and the location is great to start a hike along the sentier des sens which is also suitable for kids and even wheelchair accessible.
There is a small playground next to the restaurant.
The restaurant has 3 indoor tables, but outside there's more tables to sit.

A must stop after the gorgeous Vallon d'arbi. Amazing location and lovely warning welcome. You can get there from Savoliere too or just walk up from La Tzumaz. La Mule is the best!
