Marie-Claude and Gilles (hosts extraodinaire) have really perfected the B & B experience. They were both very warm and welcoming. I felt right at home. It's a beautiful place!|My room was very modern (chambre 3) and beautifully appointed. Fantastic view! King Bed, a sitting area and fantastic private bathroom. The grounds are stunning and border directly on the St Lawrence River. There is an easy river path that leads to the village, stunning parks, boardwalk, pier and dining. |Breakfast was freshly made, plentiful, diverse and served in a lovely and spacious dining room.||Yes, I will be back!!!!!

Our stay in L’Ermitage was excellent. This is an interesting almost 200 year old home. The inn is well-kept and very clean. Gilles is a friendly and good host, and spoke both French and English. Our room was nicely renovated with a beautiful view of the St. Lawrence River. Our breakfast was great.

Frienly welcome; nicely decorated, clean, we had a large room with attached little sitting room and opportunity to sit there and enjoy a river view. The night was comfortable, the room cool (end of September), bed comfy and toasty, bathroom across the hall.
Excellent breakfast, we are not breakfast people, but I tried the waffle and ate all of it (light and not to sweet). All in all a wonderful stopover on our trip east.

On our way back to Ontario from NB, our car broke down and we were stranded for a place to stay. We got ahold of these hosts and were so glad we did! They were so helpful, and it really showed that they love and care about what they do. They offered to help us translate with the garage (as they spoke French and we spoke English), and also drove us back to the garage instead of us having to take a taxi. They were the best hosts who made amazing breakfast too! Location was very close to restaurants, shops and a great view of the St Lawrence River. 5/5 stars all the way ❤️
Thank you both SO much.

We enjoyed everything about l'Ermitage, especially the kind, friendly hosts. We felt that it was very reasonably priced, and a very pleasant, comfortable, architecturally stunning inn. There were many thoughtful touches...we loved the comfortable bed, the quiet, the sitting area in the beautiful turret, the super clean washroom, the lovely sumptuous breakfast with lots of fresh fruit and the great price.

Even though the hour of our arrival was getting late, we were welcomed very warmly. The owner gave us space in her own freezer for our cooler ice packs and kept our canned juice drinks in her kitchen fridge overnight. Our room was very comfortable, with lovely soft sheets and a window looking out over a lama in the yard beyond the house. The breakfast next morning was superb - cold grapefruit juice, vanilla yogurt, a warm date muffin on a plate with four different fruits ... followed by a crepe filled with a ham and cheese omelette, topped with fresh maple syrup. We took our delicious hot coffee out to the comfortable chairs on the side porch of the house, where we had more views of our lama friend. This is a superb bed and breakfast which we'd highly recommend.

Saint Jean Port Joli is a beautiful small town on the St Lawrence River. La Maison de l'Ermitage is a great place to stay right in town. The building itself is very well maintained as are the grounds. The rooms are large and nicely decorated and we had our own private bathroom. Several of the rooms share a bathroom. Our room overlooked the river in the back and a small balcony in the front of the room overlooked the town. The house has a wrap around porch with plenty of chairs to read or enjoy a drink. The owners are extremely nice and the breakfast was terrific. We highly recommend La Maison de l'Ermitage when in St Jean Port Joli.
