This hotel is in the centre of the old town so the location is brilliant. The room was quiet and comfortable, the bed was perfect! Breakfast was also an amazing experience. We arrived to our table set up with fruit, yoghurt, meats, cheese, fresh croissants, cakes and fresh juice. We could then order eggs done in multiple ways as well as hot drinks. The staff are excellent and go above and beyond to be helpful. So much so that they packed us bags of water and cake to take with us for our onward car trip. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, it is the little things that make so much difference!

Our last three nights in Colmar were spent at this truly exceptional hotel, and staying in Room 109 made the experience even more memorable. The room was beautifully appointed, the bed incredibly comfortable, and the shower and amenities simply outstanding. But what truly sets this hotel apart is the remarkable staff—both at the front desk and at breakfast. Every single person we encountered, morning and evening, was warm, gracious, and genuinely welcoming. Marion and the entire team created an atmosphere of heartfelt hospitality that is increasingly rare, even at the world’s top luxury properties. The breakfast each morning was another highlight: generous, delicious, and served by some of the kindest hotel staff you will ever meet. If you are visiting Colmar, do not even think about staying anywhere else. As a couple who regularly stays at properties such as The Ritz and The Four Seasons, we can honestly say our stay here was every bit as enjoyable—if not more so. A perfect experience from start to finish.

A charming and perfect launch point to explore Colmar Christmas markets- which are arguably some of the best! Just walk out the door of this 400 year old plus inn and be on your way. The beds were so comfy I slept the best I have in 4 years. The place was spotless. The food was delicious, although i was expecting a buffet style breakfast but it was a served breakfast. I would absolutely stay here again. The holiday decor in the courtyard was beautiful!

This is hands-down, the best hotel to stay in in Colmar… ideal location, lots of history…| We only had the option of room 303 which is a duplex… which should be avoided… first off it has no shower and negotiating in and out of the tub which has no bar.. was very tricky..impossible to get luggage to bedroom… there is a winding staircase with no treads or railing perilously close to the side of the bed .. I moved my night table in front of it lest I make a wrong move in the middle of the night.. the room is spare …one small bottle of water Per night, no milk for coffee.. I’m sorry this is not five star..||The food is five star.. breakfast is amazing and sumptuous with a to go bag at hand.. we loved both restaurants though the service at the Michelin Star one was frustratingly slow… two waiters for nine tables .. 4 hours for a five course meal!||If you are coming for the Xmas market do not come on the weekend .. the town is completely overrun.. The food is fun and amazing but unfortunately many of the items are from China…

My wife and I stayed here four nights for the second leg of our Christmas Market adventure. Everything about this hotel - the staff, food, proximity to this amazingly charming town, and our room (that overlooked the lovely courtyard) exceeded our high expectations. Our bathroom was a 10 out of 10. It had a large walk-in shower with multiple shower heads and a large vanity with dual sinks. The best service we have had in a long time. You call for this or that and happily it is expedited to your room. We both commented that everyone was smiling and more than happy to help in every way. The breakfast was a real treat- both presentation and quality. Final thought- it was so enjoyable we wished we could have stayed longer.

My husband and I took our adult children on a getaway to Paris and then Alsace. It was a great plan and La Maison Des Tetes was a perfect place to settle for our 3 nights in Colmar. |The very well-trained staff executed flawlessly on every single aspect of our time there and I particularly appreciated the level of detail, catering to my dining needs. I have celiac disease and had mentioned that when I reserved our rooms months ago,as I knew breakfasts were included with our reservation. At dinner and every morning at breakfast I was provided with absolutely delicious gluten-free offerings. This is the type of attention and effort that make the difference in a property and its designation as a Relais & Chateaux jewel. |The breakfasts are not to be believed. In addition to the best yogurt you have ever consumed in your life, with amazing granola and fresh fruit, omelettes are made to order and the breads, croissants and muffins brought to your table (or your room!) are beautiful and delicious. Manuele deserves a call out for her friendly service and the way she anticipates needs and assists. |Our three rooms were elegant, comfortable and quiet. The rainfall showers were particularly enjoyed by our crew.|It was noticeable that Eric Girardin, the chef and co-owner of the property, was constantly on site, stopping in the Brasserie to meet with people and observe guests enjoying themselves. We saw him early in the morning, during dinner and strolling through the lobby at other times. He is clearly hands on and it shows. |A+ to all at La Maison des Tetes and thanks for the parting sweet gifts, for our train ride back to Paris!|P/S I recommend Nathan's taxi service for transport from the train to the inn. The hotel connected me with him and he can be reached at ‭+33 3 89 23 10 33‬ to plan ahead for your arrival.

The hotel staff (especially Emma at the front desk) was exceptional. We arrived early and she stored our luggage, made us feel welcome and sent us on our way to explore. The breakfasts were over the top! The 2 women in the breakfast room could not have been nicer and the food was wonderful. We had one dinner in the hotel and it was the best dinner in Colmar.|The rooms were nicely appointed, updated and quiet. I would have liked a separate shower but that is my only complaint.|Many thanks-We hope to return someday.

Amazing experience. Truly 5 stars. Don’t miss the breakfast experience—it was my favorite meal of our days in Colmar. Emanuela served with charm and excellence, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend!

Yelp
A lovely boutique hotel in the heart of the old town housed in a building that dates from 1609. Our group of 5 had three rooms -2 on third floor (203, 206) and one on top floor (304). All provided a comfortable, quiet sleep in a nicely air-conditioned environment but all were a bit different. The hotel name (house of the heads) is derived from the distinctive terra cotta heads that cover the front facade of the hotel. 203 had been recently updated so the bathroom was new with a spacious shower and updated fixturing and lighting. 304 was smaller but had access to the hotel's small balcony out front with a bistro table and two chairs. We had fun waving to the tourists taking pictures of the facade from it. This room was not updated and like our room, 206 had an older bathroom with a tub and hand-held shower wand. 206 was the largest of our three rooms with plenty of room to spread out although storage space for unpacking was quite limited-just a modest closet. 206 had the same tub configuration and also a single sink, but did have a tiny phone booth-sized shower. Our bed was firm but comfortable. My only nit (my wife's actually) was the hair dryer not seeming to work properly. Breakfast was included in the room rate and included the typical items you see in Europe-breads, cheeses, yogurt, fruit -and was served on the first floor above the lobby. We enjoyed our two-night stay in early August and found the front desk staff-especially the afternoon/evening duo - quite helpful and speaking good English. I'm hoping on a future visit to see all the rooms updated in the style of room 203 which would raise my review to 5 stars for sure.

Yelp
This was definitely a unique hotel. The building is a historical landmark built in the early 1600s, adorned by 106 distinctive little heads (statues of course). The interior has been renovated to look like a quaint cottage with modern touches (the hotel lobby has a modern look, but the restaurant portion and room I was in had a more cottage-y feel). It's a good place for a romantic stay. I was in a room on the top floor that had a small balcony facing the street - pretty quiet in this part of town. The furniture was not the fanciest, but the room was cute, the bathroom amenities were nice, and I really liked their selection of complimentary soaps and lotions (Nuxe Paris brand). The hotel is gated and there is a beautiful courtyard in front of the entrance, where guests in the restaurant downstairs can sit. The rate I got was pretty decent for the value. However, something I did not appreciate was how they were sneaky about the breakfast situation... As a way of background, for this trip I had booked nearly a dozen hotels, so it was hard for me to remember exactly which hotels included breakfast. (FYI - this one did not.) When I checked in, they gave me an overview, then casually mentioned "...And breakfast is at (so and so) AM down this corridor..." without stating the price, in a way that made me think this hotel includes breakfast with its stays... until I received the final bill upon check-out and the total ended up being $40 more than what I had expected. This took me by surprise because up to this point, every other hotel that charged breakfast would say "breakfast is at [this time and location] and it will cost $xx.xx" and every hotel I've been to that included breakfast would say what this hotel had told me. Overall, nice hotel, but definitely be on your toes for any unexpected charges. It was definitely not a few dimes and nickels for me!
