La Maison du Cygne

I highly recommend this restaurant. It is right in the middle of the palace area. The staff is outstanding. The food is great and the Belgian beer fabulous.

I had an incredible dinner at La Maison du Sagan in Brussels with my colleagues, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The food was simply amazing, crafted with such precision and flavor. The atmosphere transported us to another world, making the evening even more special. And of course, the view was the perfect finishing touch. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a true fine dining experience in Brussels!

Amazing location, great service, you won’t come back for the food!

Great location/ views, friendly staff, quick service, good beer but wouldn’t eat there -there are better places.

Nice location but everything else is awful. Manager was abrasive and confrontational the waiter doesn't speak any English! I ordered the sirloin and they brought me a sad looking rib eye that was gristle and fat and tough as leather. Only good thing was the oysters and they can't take credit for them since all they did was open them. I even noticed the manager open a bottle of wine for some diners and he took a glass for himself first. Unbelieveable. This is truly a joke

This restaurant has been in existence since something like 1740 and was in it's time to to of haute cuisine and the food was out of this world, however , it fell on hard times and has just been taken over by a group? The menu is small and whilst the decoration has been revamped, the position, just on the Grand Place is great, they tried to say all the tables were booked and only gave us choice of one table so we said we would come back another time at which point they found us another table, the others weren't sat at all night so not booked, shame. However, food was ok wine ok but not our restaurant of old. It's a beautiful setting wood paneling great for an occasion I suspect that they are still finding their feet, I hope they do because its beautiful. One course wine water about €140.00

The only thing that is positive is the service. For the rest it was a big expensive disaster. They can't even bake french fries properly. The meat was lukewarm. The bowl of salad leaves was a children's portion, and that for two people? Conclusion: much too expensive for what you get served and definitely not recommended.

The view and setting are a 5 while the service and the food were barely a 3. We had a large party and were escorted to the location. It was a beautiful large room with the history draped all over the entire room. The view was of the central square and the palace and we were treated to a special thunderstorm and lightning show - quite spectacular. The work spectacular was nowhere to be found when it came to service and the food.... It was slow and laborious and we had to ask for hem to even bring water for us. I know things are a t a leisurely pace but we had an ending time and they were so slow we barely got desert and were being ushered out. The fish was barely edible and was put together hurriedly. No doubt the large group was the issue but if you are set up for this, it should be no issue!

Just had dinner at this place and it's a memorable experience. My first night in Belgium and the bar is set high. Rares was our waiter and he took care of us. He explained the menu in English and tried his best to accommodate any changes. While we were waiting he offered to give us a tour of the building and boy that was the surprise of the day. The rooms were beautiful, if I can afford to I will dine in one of them. The food tasted great and service was wonderful. Thanks so much for making my first night here a memorable one.

Wonderful location on the grand place with historic views and delicious food. Great place to get the feel of old Brussels when visiting this historic city. Service was prompt and we returned the next day to have coffee on the square during the day as we watched the crowds.

Remains as good as before the transformations. High quality and very well dined. Preferred the scenery before, more aligned to the "grote markt" than now

Food was a 5 and we are foodies and eat at nice places everywhere. We ate inside though it was nice outside. Atmosphere, presentation, the waiters, the attention to detail, the attempt in English was warm and deserves much respect. Especially since we Americans barely attempt to learn other's languages. Americans need to learn to love this kind of dining. Par excellence!!! Thank you!

Excellent food in a beautiful building. It is not cheap but a great dining experience. Certainly return on my next visit.
