My girlfriend Melissa and I just got back home today from a 5 day stay in Houston and we stayed here. My girlfriend was the one that booked it, and I hadn't seen any pictures or anything of it prior to walking in for the first time. I was under the impression that we were staying at a bigger hotel and I was admittedly a little disappointed.....BUT my mind was changed VERY QUICKLY. One of the owners welcomed us in and showed us around. We felt very welcome right from the get go. They have a chef that cooks breakfast for all of the guest every single day in the morning where you can chat with the owners and other guests that are there. And this is real home cooked breakfast and not just some basic eggs and sausage. The rooms were just the right size and everything was super comfortable. We had the shared balcony, which I enjoyed sitting out on in the morning with my cup of coffee. They had a conference room that guest to use as well that stayed stocked with coffee and water. They had a book in the room that listed off all of the best places to go that were nearby. I havent even talked about the LOCATION yet. we were legit less than 10 minutes from everything that we came there to see and all of the bars at night were less than 3 blocks away. This location couldn't have been better for our trip. Overall, I would consider staying here every single time we visit Houston!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and it was wonderful! Prime location that's easy to get in and out of hotel. Parking on site. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Breakfast personally made by Chef Joseph each morning was amazing! We highly recommend and will definitely be back!!

Google
Such a beautiful B&B. The rooms were spacious, the bed comfortable, great shower and bathroom area. Everything we needed in our room including outside balcony area. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious and coffee/tea was always available. |The location was perfect just outside downtown and not far from Menil gallery (which btw is closed Monday/Tuesday). |We found the local information booklets very helpful and last but not least the ladies (and men) in charge were very friendly and helpful. We stayed two nights and would love to stay again.

This is a very pleasant oasis in Mid-town Houston. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Room was comfortable and very clean and breakfast was very pleasant. Even left out wine with a few glasses for guets in the evening. We will return!!!

A true sense of feeling at home away from home. The decor is beautiful, the rooms super spacious and comfy. Breakfast, which isn’t lavish, is served by chef Jo with a personal touch. The shared balcony is a blessing… I could go on and on 🙏Special thanks to Tammy

Google
I booked a weekend stay here for a wedding and it was absolutely one of the best stays I've ever experienced. This was my first bed and breakfast experience and lets just say my expectations are very high for any other bed and breakfast I book. The decor was amazing and it really felt like a getaway in the city. The hospitality was unmatched and the hosts really made us feel like we were family that came into town to visit. Staying here you truly get the bed and breakfast experience with fancy hotel accommodations. The food was definitely top tier. The hosts and chef made sure to accommodate any food allergies and didn't lack on taste or presentation. I'm typically not a morning or breakfast person, but I was definitely downstairs every morning at 9am to enjoy that breakfast experience. If you're looking for a spot that you can really relax with a vacation feel, be close to all Houston has to offer while feeling safe, and still feel like you're at home this is the spot for you. I promise you won't regret this stay!!

If you want a bed and breakfast experience instead of a hotel, La Maison will work. People were chatting at breakfast. The building is older, but they keep it clean, and the staff are courteous.

We had a great stay and look forward to returning. The owners are fantastic and very detail oriented. Breakfast was wonderful and it felt so much like home.

Yelp
A taste of southern hospitality in the city of Houston! We loved our stay at La Maison and especially appreciated all the great support from Valerie during our stay. She was very helpful with a slightly early check in when we had an event to get to in the city and also helping us with check out to figure out how we could see the city and return for our things at the hotel since we had a late flight. La Maison is in a great location in Midtown - although I know public transport is not big in Houston, it's not far from the redline stop (maybe a ten minute walk) and we took average of this to go to the museum area and downtown. La Maison has great facilities with a spacious living and dining room, and even an elevator! (Not common in most bnbs and a welcome surprise during check in). The freshly cooked breakfast was exceptional - our appreciation to the chef!

Yelp
Grace. Charm. Attention to detail. Convenient. Strategic. Stellar. These describe La Maison. I chose for us to stay at this beautiful black- and women-owned establishment after I read about it on Travel Noire, and I don't plan to stay anywhere else on future trips to Houston. The rooms are immaculate. We had a beautiful suite with a private wrap-around balcony with two bathrooms, a parlor, and a large bedroom. The ceiling are high and the rooms are large, and this cannot be replicated by a hotel. I was surprised how quiet it is in the area overnight and in the early morning, given the midtown location. The breakfast was wonderful, delicious, and made based on our dietary preferences. We felt heard and understood. We have no negative words for this gorgeous place and the beautiful people who run it. We felt safe in the private parking lot behind us. There are cameras that are monitored outside. There is security code access to enter the building during your stay obtained when you check in. I, during our stay and given my Francophilia,, called it "The House," because we had all of the amenities of home here and given the original French meaning of the name of the spot. Thank you. Bravo!

Yelp
My wife and I had an excellent experience staying at La Maison in Houston's Midtown. We were in the area for a wedding and wanted to stay close by. La Maison fit that bill perfectly. Our room 203B was very comfortable, beautifully decorated, the owners and staff very friendly and professional, the breakfast very good. All-in-all a superb experience that we hope to repeat in the future. Highly recommended!

Yelp
La Maison is a hidden Houston gem. I decided to stay here on a business trip to get a feel for the hotel and surroundings. I was sent instructions on how to access the building, which made me feel better for safety reasons compared to a traditional hotel. I was greeted by one of the owners, Genora, who helped me with how to get to my room and who informed me of their afternoon "high tea" to visit later in the afternoon. I came down and had a glass of wine with the other owner, Sharon, and another employee who made me feel right at home. My room had plenty of room, was cleaned and prepped with intention, and was the perfect accommodation for my stay in Houston. It was so nice to be able to get a continental breakfast since I had to leave early in the morning to head to the airport. It felt like staying at a house with a kitchen stocked with snacks and food, while also feeling like I had privacy in my own room at the same time. I recommend this urban bed & breakfast to anyone staying near downtown Houston or who may want a staycation that feels homey in Houston.

Yelp
Adorable Urban B&B in Midtown Houston.....very nice room, lovely balcony, (we would have enjoyed if it hadn't been for the rain), the sweetest ladies working there in all areas. Just a very intimate experience! They made you feel like family! Breakfast Sunday morning was yummy!

Yelp
My husband and I celebrating my belated 65th birthday, excellent choice. Very nice and warm and cozy. My first stay in a Bed and Breakfast, I love Hallmark movies and if you know there movies they focus on Bed and Breakfast I was not disappointed!! Chef Julia whipped us up a personal treat to our liking. The maid on our floor kept was kind and attentive. We loved the Veranda off our room. So much to say believe me I'm hard to impress . Best staycation . Dorothy

Yelp
My partner and I chose this bed and breakfast from our Babymoon. I found it through TripAdvisor. To say the least, we were not disappointed! We're from Lafayette, Louisiana so we didn't get to La Maison until about 10pm on Friday. They provided entry instructions a few days in advanced via email so we knew exactly what to do in the event no one could greet us when we got there. Parking was a bit confusing at first. The front door faces Drew street and the parking lot is a small lot behind the building off Brazos. It was late and dark, so it took us a few roundabout trips but we found it. Other than our laughable confusion, entry was super easy. The facility is four stories. Our room was on the 3rd floor. To this pregnant lady's surprise, there was an elevator! After a long drive, I was super happy I did not have to take the stairs. Our room was absolutely stunning! (303B) We had a king size bed with a walk in shower. Fresh towels. Soft robes. This room can also be extended into a suite but it felt it wasn't necessary for just the two of us. (For what I hear, the extended suite has a big bathtub, great for soaking the stress away.) Everything was exactly where you could find it. They provide a binder with all the answers to your questions. Also, complimentary coffee, tea and water were available on the 2nd floor. In the morning, the owners (either Ms. Sharon or Ms. Genora) were personally there along with Mr. Matt to greet us and they made a delicious homemade breakfast with your choice of fresh juice and coffee. As we are still in the mist of COVID, everyone wore a mask and the tables were spaced apart to allow for the appropriate amount of social distancing. La Maison is conveniently located. Our itinerary included the Houston Zoo and the Museum of Natural Science. Travel time was roughly 10-15 mins. from the facility. There are divine restaurants in all directions. It was nothing after a long day to go back to our room, nap, refresh and go back out for dinner. We left Sunday after breakfast. Check out was just as simple as check in. Seriously, the next time we are in Houston for the weekend, we will be staying at the La Maison in Midtown. It was a bit pricier than the surrounding hotels but honestly it was just a beautiful location with an overall top-rated experience. I did not mind spending a few extra pennies. Other than that, I really don't think I have anything negative to say of our stay. One thing, as we were really only there for the weekend, our days were pretty booked. We sadly did not get to participate in the afternoon tea. We will definitely take them up on it next time. Thank you, Ms. Sharon and Ms. Genora for a wonderful experience! :)

Yelp
This was my second visit exactly one year apart and La Maison is quickly becoming my happy place. Once again, the breakfast did not disappoint.

Yelp
In town visiting family, and we were offered a night away from the kiddos. We booked La Maison in Midtown. This place was just what we needed. Close to all the happening spots in Midtown, clean and gorgeous accommodations, and breakfast was outstanding. I gave some dietary restrictions and breakfast was perfect. Such great flavor, and wonderful to sit and look out the large windows. Would stay here again, and highly recommend it to friends needing a staycation. Thanks for the lovely 24 hours away to rest.

Yelp
This quiet, charming and well-appointed bed and breakfast just outside downtown Houston reminds me of New Orleans/Charleston in its architecture. Interior is Houston grand, bath amenities are right up there with the fancy big boys. Robes and plush towels included. Breakfast served in the dining area, a nice cozy breakfast casserole kind of breakfast. There is a conference room in the second floor. Y'all can have a group meeting here. Consider this gem in midtown Houston. For your stay in the city.

Yelp
This is a gem in Houston! It was quiet. With free off street parking. Breakfast was awesome. Great location Easy walk to the trolly. Rooms do need a bit of an upgrade, some furniture is old and needs to be replaced. Bed and linens were super comfy. Walls are a bit thin. But most people are quiet, except coming and going. There is a small kitchen with a Keurig, tea and bottles of water. We found out on our last day we could of put leftovers in the refrigerator. They had wine in the evening when we were there but no one was in the the kitchen so we weren't real sure if we could just pour our own. All in all a great place to stay. The only thing that would make it better is if they accepted pets.

Yelp
My first time at a bed and breakfast and it the standard for which all other BNBs must live up to. Amazing experience! Location, location, location! Lots of great restaurants in walking distance. We went to a Jazz concert in Emancipation Park and it is walking distance from the BNB. Also, the BNB is beautiful! It's very nicely decorated and clean. The breakfast was delicious. The staff friendly and helpful. Great place for a weekend getaway.

Yelp
My husband & I just stayed here after returning from our honeymoon and it was wonderful! They were so great about allowing us to check-in after hours and our room was very clean and nice! The bathroom was spacious and the king bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was AMAZING. The breakfast room was adorable and we were served fresh, strong coffee, grits, bacon & eggs, and a biscuit. It was TO DIE FOR. We definitely savored every bite...we were sad to leave as we weren't able to stay more than 1 night but we will definitely return the next time we want a nice weekend in Houston!

Yelp
We spent 2 nights for Jana's birthday and were treated like royalty. Breakfasts are scrumptious. Wonderful restaurants are just minutes from this location and entry to Hwy 59/69 is just a few jogs away. We went to Kingwood and it was only 27 minutes on Friday afternoon. But best of all are the precious people who own La Maison and the staff who service the guests. They genuinely care. Hospitality is their priority! We loved our stay!

Yelp
My wife and I celebrated our 30th year anniversary at La Maison and absolutely had an awesome stay! The staff were unquestionably caring and thoughtful, the rooms and facilities were immaculate and top notch! The decor had a warm and cozy feel with historical southern charm!

Yelp
This place is such a gem! I'm so glad I chose this place over a huge hotel. I wanted to do a staycation for my 26th birthday, and I couldn't find a hotel here in Houston that I fell in love with enough to justify leaving my in-town apartment. I was scrolling though Yelp and found this place! It looked really nice and the reviews were great! I had never stayed in bed and breakfast before I stayed here. I decided to give it a try and booked the Privacy room. Oh. My. Gosh! This place was so pretty! My husband and I arrived late last Saturday night, so the staff were gone. However, the instructions they left for us on how to get in were very clear. Our room was so amazing! It was spacious and luxurious! The decor was to die for! Also, there was a tv in the bathroom mirror! I felt like a celebrity living the life! The bathroom was clean and the shower was huge! I actually contemplated moving in permanently! LOL! The king bed was really comfortable, too! Okay, that was the bed. Now onto the breakfast! Matthew is a great cook! Our first breakfast was a peach croissant with scrambled eggs and bacon. I had a very happy plate when I was finished. It was amazing! They have an Urban High Tea in the evenings, too! Unfortunately, I had to sit it out after a long day at the museum, but my husband said he had a fabulous time talking with the other guests and the staff. He enjoyed the wine as well. Don't worry about lunch or dinner! This place was within walking distance of quite a few of Midtown's many restaurants! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here! We will definitely be back the next time we want a mini getaway!

Yelp
Far above expectations! We booked this on Travelocity, just trying to find a quiet place to stay in Midtown while we celebrated my wife's birthday with a couple of days in Houston. It was exceptional! Comfortable bed, awesome shower and friendly folks - and breakfast was amazing. Can't say enough good things about this gem - we will be back!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here to explore Houston. We loved this bed & breakfast. They were very welcoming and nice. We stayed in room 202 and it was great. We loved sitting out on the balcony. Matthew fixed us a wonderful breakfast that was very good. It's a perfect location, too. Lots of things to get out and do. We will most definitely be back!

Yelp
Best secret around! Top notch bed and breakfast, downtown Houston. Quaint with nice ambience and balcony views. Bedrooms beautifully decorated, each unique in it's own way. Be sure to visit each other's room when you stay.... you'll all want the other person's room. That's beacuse each one is cozy, very nice and different. My husband & I, couple friends, and girls all choose different rooms each time we go. Private meeting rooms with conference tables, commune kitchen/dining, and living room area. Great get away for groups of couples or girls night out!

Yelp
Hosts & Staff - Excellent Location - Excellent Rooms & Cleanliness - Excellent Breakfast - Excellent My husband and I stayed at La Maison for business. The hosts are simply fantastic as are the facilities and the service/food. Rooms are spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable. La Maison also has a conference room that can accommodate approximately 12 people with small kitchen and bathroom. Our company rented this conference room for 2 days and suited our needs perfectly. The location is great and offers a great quiet neighborhood with ample parking. There are also many restaurants close by. Urban High Tea is fun and offers a chance to meet other guests and the hosts on a more personal level. We loved this home away from home and will continue to stay here every time we return to Houston.

Yelp
Why stay at a hotel when you can be at La Maison? From the perfectly charming furnishings to the fresh flowers everywhere, this place is like something straight out of a magazine. It's absolutely gorgeous, and also has all the modern comforts you'd get at a nice hotel (TV/DVD/Cable, ipod dock, wi-fi, etc). The rooms are all different and priced accordingly - Check out the website for detailed descriptions and rates. The bed was SUPER comfortable. I was all set to have the best night's sleep of my life when I discovered the only downside of this place - the NOISE. A few times in the night, I was awoken by shouting from the street and loud motorcycles zooming by on Brazos. No one else seemed to notice, so maybe the rooms furthest from Brazos are quieter? High tea consisted of crackers and gruyere spread (YUM), fresh fruit, nuts, and wine. Breakfast was great - Nothing better than coming downstairs to a hot cup of coffee and a hearty breakfast! Important Tip: When you make an online reservation, it asks you when you will be arriving - You actually are supposed to arrive AT that time so the owners (who may be out running errands, etc.) can meet you. Overall highly recommend for a weekend getaway, business trip, or whatever your travel needs are!

Yelp
Highly recommend this place! If you need to be in a centralized location in Houston and want to try something better than the regular Holiday Inn experience, I recommend La Maison. It can easily be a wonderful romantic staycation or a warm and private business stay. Included in your stay is an urban high tea (wine service) and a wonderful breakfast that beats out the cold bagel and cream cheese options of most hotels. I really enjoyed my stay and plan on being back while singing it's praises in the meantime.

Lisa J.

Yelp
La Maison is relatively new to Midtown, which might explain the lack of reviews here. Let me be the first to say how AWESOME this place is! It is a bed and breakfast with plush rooms, great locale and super friendly and helpful owners. It is run by two lovely women, one of whom is the VP of Center Point and the other of Reliant Energy. They built the place from the ground up so it is new. Not what you usually expect from a B&B. Breakfast was seafood quiche with mimosas. Love! Our room featured a flat screen TV, king size bed, a desk with fresh flowers, and two swivel recliners. Art was prominently displayed along with a huge standing mirror. Closets were roomy and the central AC was specific to each room. It was so lovely and warm, with deep oranges and beige/brown accents. But the bathroom was the coolest part! There was a flat screen TV embeded in the mirror so you could watch it while getting ready. The standing shower had two shower heads and was spacious. Priced at $200 a night, it was a good deal. There are cheaper rooms and more expensive ones with a private balcony as well. I believe there are 7 rooms altogether. Wifi is available and the living room had a huge flat screen but was quiet and cozy. You have access to the kitchen where coffee and wine are always served complimentary and a small dining room with fresh flowers on every table. Gated private parking with doorbell entrance in the rear or a coded entry in the front made me feel safe and secure. They have thought of everything!! I never wanted to leave! If you want a nice place to stay for medium bucks, this is the place. I highly recommend staying there.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here celebrating our 31st anniversary. It was beautiful, warm, and comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing on the balcony and listening to music. The staff was so nice and Matthew fixed us an amazing breakfast. We will defiantly stay here again.

Yelp
I cannot begin to sing the praises of La Maison in Midtown! I booked a suite for my Mother and brother when they came to Houston for a visit and was amazed at their experience. The suite included a king sized bed, a temperapedic pull out couch, two televisions, two full baths (one with an amazing shower and the other with a soaking tub) and access to the porch outside the room. Each morning they were treated to a delightful southern breakfast spread that on weekends included endless mimosas. Each evening they spent some time with other guests during a High Tea from 5-7PM that included snacks, tea and wine. The owners and innkeeper were delightful - they were gracious and more than happy to share advice about the area. This is my go-to recommendation for friends and family as they come to visit!

Yelp
This place is fantastic! Located in a nice walkable nook of Houston. The establishment is amazing. The room accommodations make me never want to stay in another hotel chain again. The breakfasts in the mornings were delicious - and thankfully not just continental style. This will be my home away from home whenever next I go to Houston. Rooms: A+ Breakfast: A+ Hosts: A++ Thank you so much for your hospitality Sharon and Genora!

Yelp
This was a great weekend with my wife and other couples as we enjoyed a couples retreat. The location in Midtown made it easy to walk to grab a quick bite to eat after we arrived and checked in. The downstairs common areas (kitchen, dining room, family room, and reception area) were all very nice and made for an awesome opportunity to mingle. The 2nd floor conference room was perfect for our groups presentation, fellowship, and meeting needs. Our room on the 3rd floor was clean and cozy..... reminded me of some of the nice boutique hotel rooms we have visited. The daily breakfast, chef-prepared dinner, and urban high tea with wine and cheese were all nice surprises. Great job of making us feel at home. We will be back soon for another stay and to enjoy the nice wrap-around porches on all 3 levels once it cools off. Till next time God Bless!

Yelp
Our stay at La Maison in Midtown was very pleasant and relaxing. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The environment was peaceful. We will definitely be going again real soon. It's a nice get away. The breakfast was delicious!

Yelp
My wife and I just stayed at this little gem for the first time. It was our first experience staying in Midtown and we are so thankful to have stayed here. Thanks Sharon!

Yelp
Excellent place to stay for a weekend staycation in Houston. Place was very nice and hospitality by the owners was more than I expected. Loved staying here for the night.

Yelp
My husband and I were given a one night stay as a gift to celebrate our anniversary here and LOVED it!!! This is definitely a hidden gem, centrally located, beautifully maintained, has an excellent staff and is a short walk from several Midtown dining locations. The room was spacious and provided all of the amenities offered in luxury hotels. We slept in and enjoyed an excellent late breakfast from La Maison's chef Sergio. Great stay and we can't wait to get back!!

Yelp
My husband and I needed a quick get-away for the night, and this place was perfect! The owners are FANTASTIC, very friendly and welcoming. We locked ourselves out of our room late at night and had to call Sharon, who was very kind and understanding, despite the late hour. The bed was more comfortable than our bed at home, and breakfast the next day is not to be missed! We will definitely be back!!

Chris B.

Yelp
This place is flat out perfect. My girlfriend and I needed a place to stay for a few days while visiting Houston and found this place. I'll admit it is a little pricey, but the service and cleanliness is well worth it. They made sure we were as comfortable as humanly possible and really us feel right at home. The room was fantastic with a spa tub and queen size bed. I asked them what they could do to make it more romantic for us and they brought up champagne and two glasses. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful every and usually consisted of fruit and some type of muffin or egg dish. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone staying in Houston or anyone just needing to get away from the world for awhile.

Yelp
Wow! What amazing service! ( when have u ever stayed at a hotel where the owner waited to make sure u were well?) beautifully decorated, everything is new and clean. Location is perfect for downtown and a weekend out. My wife n I will be returning.

Mark C.

Yelp
I would give it 20 stars if I could. Maybe the best place I've ever stayed in my life. Got really lucky to find La Maison in some online searches and I stayed 5 days for business. It's a beautiful place and the attention to detail is outstanding. Genora, Sharon, Tommi, Sergio have a gift for hospitality and making you feel at home. Great rooms, great breakfast, great everything. This is a special place. Don't change a thing.

Yelp
This was the best bed and breakfast experience I have ever had. The house was clean and the owners greeted me and showed me to my room when I arrived. Everyone who works there is so nice and personable. The breakfast was amazing and fresh. The room was comfortable and clean and beautiful. We truly enjoyed our stay and will defiantly be back next time we are in town. I would stay here over a hotel any day.

Russell T.

Yelp
Amazing! If you need to stay near downtown, there's no better option. The breakfast, staff, room and common areas were all first class. Parking only steps from your room. Walk to great bars and restaurants. In room fresh flowers. Every inch of this place was spotless.

Rita S.

Yelp
Stayed here one night and enjoyed it! Sharon (the owner!!) even went out of her way to make the night great. She poured heavy glasses of wine during Urban High Tea :D She was very hospitable and I felt very comfortable there, would definitely recommend this place to a friend!
