Google
We were looking for restaurants in the area open for dinner Sunday and found La Maison by chance. We are so grateful to have chosen to dine here. The food was excellent and the service was lovely and friendly. We ordered sardines and artichokes to start and the argentine steak, and beef tartare for mains. Portions were generous and the steak was perfectly cooked. For dessert we had a strawberry pavlova to share, and it was the perfect way to end a meal. I would definitely recommend and be happy to return when in Paris again. Thank you!

Tourists avoid this restaurant. Hotel concierge booked this as no other places were available Food portion is big so share main dish. Escargo may be empty so check it out. Main dish was not good. Overall consistent feedback. Avoid the server, Judith she did not return changes to us and charged tip without my permission

Our waitress was amazing. The food was incredible, highly highly recommend! We had Camembert with honey, duck and lamb confit and crème brûlée with a blush rose and a lovely red wine

Google
What a wonderful experience my husband, friend and I had here! Our server, Tone, was so friendly and fantastic. The food was amazing. We had steak and lamb, and mashed potatoes… all of them were outstanding but the mashed potatoes were the best I think I’ve ever had. This is a wonderful little spot, and I would love to return.

Google
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Paris. It's almost a ritual to have dinner there when I visit the city. The confit lamb shank is one of my favorite dishes, but I recommend trying the daily specials. You won't be disappointed! Great desserts and very friendly staff.

Loved this neighbourhood gem. Amazing food, well priced, and has a wonderful bistro feel with some clear regulars. Lots of French classics on the menu - highly recommend trying!

Google
Went for dessert, coffee, and champagne. Our server, a bubbly young woman was fantastic and the mousse was amazing and LARGE. I wish the lighting was a little softer so late in the evening but overall wonderful!

Google
We had a great time dining here. The food was excellent! We all had the lamb shank. It was so tender and tasty and cooked to perfection. The sauce on it was also delicious. For starters we had the roasted Camembert with honey and the escargots. All so good. The waitress was great, Clementine!! She was very helpful with the menu and very happy and outgoing!!

Yelp
La Maison continues to be one of my staple places to eat in Paris, particularly on Sundays when many other cafes are closed. The lamb shank is exceptional, I have had it several times. Several of the staff speak english which makes ordering easier. As it warms up, I am looking forward to dining on the sidewalk.

Yelp
Lovely place where the chef is every thing. Chef, waiter and host. Limited dishes on the menu but great food.

Joginder M.

Yelp
The dinner for our group of five was exceptional. We were attended to very well and the food, especially the steak and lamb were very good. A quaint ambiance made it a perfect evening.

Yelp
Sunday night and moderately busy. The experience started when our waiter, after seating us at an inside table, asked if we'd like to move to a nicer window seat. (Of course! ), Food was excellent - from my Cocotte de poulet aux morilles, Riz basmati (chicken with mushroom sauce + rice) to my wife's dinner-sized salad - neither entree could have been better. Add in the great bread and wine for the perfect dinner. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Yelp
Great organic food , good service, friendly staff and reasonable prices. We ordered the lamb and the steak. AMAZING! Highly recommend it .

Yelp
Excellent place to have a french style meal at La Maison, located down a side street near the Arc de Triomphe and the Palais Congress. There will be a server who will speak better Emglish than other servers. Drinks come quickly, and everything on the menu is magnificent. I ordered the beef with cold noodles and came with a serving of fries. The cold noodles hit the spot on a hot day. Its recommemded you order the beef rare or medium rare for the best authentic experience. If you sit outside, make sure you have sunblock on.

Yelp
Food was outstanding. Got the duck confit. It was crispy, juicy, tender YUM. My mom got a salad and added salmon, that was also soo yummy. We also got desert that was pretty good, just too sweet for our taste. Service was 10/10. The man spoke fantastic English and was so genuine and funny!! Great personality. The ambiance was quiet and quaint.

Yelp
Loved this quaint place somewhat off the beaten path. Awesome coffee and wine. Stopped for a glass of wine and had the meat and cheese tray to go along with it. Wait staff were super friendly and they spoke English. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing. We had an omelet, crepe, bread with jam and cappuccino. Service was top notch h, friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Nice restaurant with typical French cuisine. Ordered the lamb shank and it was delicious. A little salty, but overall really good.

Yelp
A wonderful experience for a dinner in Paris! Tried escargot for the first time, and I can't complain! The skate fish dish was so good, first time for the as well. The butter and bread were delightful! I love the older ambiance, felt very comforting and relaxed. Service was perfect, such a gentleman who took the time to show us how to eat the escargot!
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect place for family dinning. Service was great and quick. Mostly restaurant people were speaking English which was help full to under them if you don't speak French. Few options available for vegan people. Overall it was perfect place.

Yelp
Very friendly and accommodating staff and service. Food was great. I had a creamy seafood linguine and my wife had the salmon salad. We enjoyed with sourdough bread and a tasty bottle of French Rose wine.

Yelp
Apparently this used to be really good before they switched owners. I wouldn't recommend it. It was very average, and in a place like Paris, where there are so many good choices, I wouldn't waste my time. The duck confit had some kind of gravy on it. That shouldn't be necessary if it was actually good. The tarte tatin seemed like it had been around for a long time. Not fresh. Crust and apples were mushy. The worst part? And it was soul crushing. There was only one woman working there. The rest were younger men. They stood around and talked while she did all the work. She was the only one waiting tables. It was just so blatant. You could see the pain in her eyes, yet she managed to be kind and gracious. It was heart breaking to watch. I asked once for butter, and I heard one of the guys say, "that's not my table." Ok really? But you're not doing anything! They should work as a team. Anyhow, no. I wouldn't bother. We were both disappointed.

Yelp
My husband & I had almost just given up on Yelp and were basically just haaangry at this point. We were wandering around Paris aimlessly looking for a bite to eat. We struck out twice on Yelp and the restaurants were closed for the evening. On our way back to our hotel we stumbled upon this little restaurant located in a quiet, residential neighborhood. There were a good amount of locals and the menu looked pretty decent. We just wanted to eat something at this point so in we went! Thankfully they provide English menus and we were able to make our selections easily without having to struggle through the menu. We did this in Italy once and I do not recommend it. Haha! There were no surprises in our meal this time around -- my husband got his steak & frites and I got my veal stew which was served in a cute little black pot. The stew was velvety and creamy, with a generous portion of tender veal & veggies. We both enjoyed our meal and left with happy bellies! If you're looking to experience a nice French meal away from the hustle & bustle of the city, dine with the locals here at La Maison. It's casual, non-pretentious, and everyone seems to speak pretty good English which is always appreciated when traveling.

Yelp
Nice place for a casual dinner. Service was quite fast consider it was Sunday night in Paris. Server was very friendly and was able to communicate in English. Food was delicious. Overall very pleasant experience.

D L.

Yelp
This place is popular in the area due to its proximity to the congrès. I was very satisfied with the service and champagne options by the glass. The menu was a bit odd and my confit de canard was dry like the desert on a hot summers day. The waiter was kind enough to bring me some of the steak sauce options free of charge. The duck came with a side of potatoes that were not cooked throughly either. It's a 1 and done kind of place for me.

Yelp
Très délicieux Authentic French restaurant serving comfort food. Great flavor, excellent service and very good prices. We went with country dishes, Started with "Camembert rôti au miel", Baker cheese in honey. Wonderful. We took "Blanquette de veau" Simply AMAZING. The veal was so tender, the cream and vegetables complement the meat very well. The salmon was great over an amazing "ratatouille". They have outside seating so you can enjoy the meal and fresh air. Must try if you want a nice casual authentic French dining experience while in Paris.

Yelp
The salmon tartar was delicious. It came with green salad and fries and the bread! I only say four stars cause of the smoking. But that's France for ya. We sat outside where more smokers were unfortunately but the inside was actually way too loud. The service was wonderful. There was a miscommunication about beef vs salmon tartar but they rectified it immediately.

Yelp
In a quiet neighborhood just out the hustle of the Champs near Ternes district between Paroisse Saint Ferdinand des Ternes and Square A et R Parodi off the Avenue la Grand Armee puts this exquisite brasserie just out side the attention of the throngs aiming for tourist traps. Six of us dinned with our wait as the restaurant be and to pop in the early evening around 7:30. Our server was friendly, attentive and very very welcoming. He even work our cell phone to help us translate for us! Service was prompt, food was prepared, seasoned and sauced to perfection. All had drinks, several bottles of wine and dessert for all ~$400 - bargain as this was by far our best meal in Paris in 5 days and the portions were very generous by French standards I felt, but not to big.... Just right! By the time we left at 9:50 PM the restaurant was full inside with some seating available outside yet, and WA crackling with energy. The people who eat here are not here by accident !!!! You'd be silly to eat on the Champs or any where the main throngs of tourists are drawn with this gem so close by!

Yelp
Paris is such an easy town to find great food in but sometimes the service can be troublesome. This Cafe Bistro was all the good and none of the bad. Even though its nestled in a neighborhood with homes, hotels, Air BnBs and other local overnights it was easy to get a table for 6. However always call ahead, great places like this fill-up. The host guided us to a warm table near the bar, at our request. It was a cold evening and he offered us a hot drink straight away. So we enjoyed that a hot aperitif and our night was off to a great start. Again, great hospitality. Smoking was not allowed and not an issue as none of us smoke. even though its the law some restaurant and bar owners let this one slide, not here. Our waiter made several suggestions, I like red meat dishes, my wife fish, and kids wanted pasta. He also offered suggestions on pairing with wine that we could enjoy. The food came quickly but at an appropriate rate that ensured it was made to order. He, the waiter, checked up on us to ensure we were taken care of. This restaurant, the staff, the neighborhood and everything surrounding our 2-hour visit was great. In my list of return spots.

Yelp
Excellent. Lamb shank was great. We had a wonderful evening. Our Server Stella was very attentive. We will go back when back in Paris.

Yelp
Great hospitality, my dinner came with olives as a free starter and bread with the meal. I got the salmon and mashed potato's. Pavé de saumon. Amazing. Truly delicious and for the right price ! Great if you are near the arc de triomphe

Akhilesh B.

Yelp
Really great place for authentic french food. The waiter was fluent in English, made good suggestions (like replacing mashed potatoes with a mix of vegetables for two people out of four, so we could have variety). When asked for wine suggestion, proactively offered a wine tasting. Portion sizes were good and everything tasted well.

Yelp
What a delightful afternoon. My husband and I visited on a Sunday afternoon--the hours said they were open. Of course, at 3p, we were the only ones in the restaurant but we were hungry. The waiter (I don't remember his name) was so nice and accommodating. The food was excellent. We started with escargot and a charcuterie and cheese board. Incredible. I had the duck confit and it was really tasty. Crispy skin, juicy meat. I don't like skin or fat, but I ate everything! My husband had the steak frites. Perfectly done. I know it was early but we weren't made to feel out of place. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Well I was instructed to sit outside by the staff inside and then I waited 20-30m without service or any other acknowledgment. I don't usually think the French are rude but don't waste your time here. I did end up getting service and the waiter was very polite but honestly it wasn't anything special. The food was eh at best, combined with the service being soooo lacking, I would skip this place and go somewhere else, there are many more neighborhood local spots that are better.

Yelp
La Maison translated means home, which is appropriate for this cafe that prides itself on homemade dishes that are prepared like your Parisian mother would make. As Wendy noted the duck is a signature entree so I ordered it. While nice I found the breast could have been a bit moister but it was not dry to the point of complaint. The scallop potatoes were excellent. My companion had the salmon which was well seasoned with pat of her butter and cooked perfectly. I also concur that the waitstaff really made the evening. Our server was so pleasant and attentive that we really did not want to leave. But after our second dessert (first was the homemade Berthillon chocolate ice cream with chocolate flakes with chocolate sauce), a apple tart with crème fraiche and side of vanilla bean ice cream we meandered off into the evening content. d'A http://www.kandidz.com

Yelp
My friend lives around the corner. I've probably been here 5 times over the last 6 months. It's a neighborhood joint -- plenty of locals and foreigners sent from hotels. Pros: - Hours. They are open non-stop, and late. - Atmosphere: It is a happening place and lively. - Pretty good food (which I'll get to below). - Good looking, nice staff (who are nice to non-French speakers). Cons: - Inconsistent food. - An occasional wait. I've liked the food 4/5 times that I've been there. One time, the food just wasn't quite there. I think someone forgot to season the potatoes enough or the steak was overcooked. My friend also had a disastrous experience on her own in which she had to send the food back. I LOVED the potatoes au gratin, but turns out it is only a summer thing. Winter is a mashed potato and in my opinion, nowhere near as amazing. I've had the steak, the veal in white sauce with rice (recommended for dinner bc it is food coma inducing), duck, and a white fish. The appetizers are also not bad and be sure to check the daily specials. If you have room left, the chocolate cake with Berthillon ice cream is clutch.

Yelp
La Maison! I have been here twice - because the first time was so good. The second time not perfect, but still, a really good place! Basically, it all started with the entree du jour, which was a poached egg in a truffle sauce... it was soooo good. That dish alone made me want to come back, and come back I did. Unfortunately the second time, it was no longer on the menu, which made me grumpy, but oh well. I really like the restaurant, it is on a quiet little place in the 17th, very calm, everyone looks local, the service was good each time, the price wasn't too expensive and the food was good. I will definitely come back here at some point, mainly because I know that poached egg dish will be back... and I will have it!

Yelp
Comfortable cute restaurant with great service I recently made my second visit to La Maison and was happy to see it had not changed. I enjoy the food and wine of course, but what makes this place special to me is that it is not pretentious, the food is very good, and most importantly the staff seems genuinely interested in making the customer happy. The restaurant is set in a quiet residential neighborhood so their patio is nice on pleasant days. I had marrow for a starter and pork tenderloin main course. Both were very good. My only regret was not being more hungry. I don't speak French other than a few words, but the staff was friendly and provided an English menu. No communications problems here. As always, La Maison is a comfortable place for a traveler to dine with the locals.

Yelp
We wanted to eat at a French restaurant so I went on yelp and found La Maison which was within walking distance from where we were staying. It got pretty good reviews so we decided to check it out for dinner. We arrived around 6pm and we seated right away at a table near the bar. Hubby ordered the veal 17,90 and I ordered a faux fillet 23,80 and the house soup 7,20. The veal was chopped up in cubes and served in a creamy stew. Not at all what we were expecting. It was salty. My steak was decent. It was served with a side of sliced potatoes, string beans with mushroom. The portions were big but the quality of food was just average. The soup was creamy and super salty. Not sure if the cook was having an off night, but we were not impressed with the food. Service was fine up until we paid and there was this big mix up with our change. That was an ordeal.

Yelp
Went here on a Sunday night based on Yelp recommendations and was not disappointed. We had delicious meal and the service was friendly and prompt...many locals dining here as well.

Scott S.

Yelp
Extremely disappointing. It looks like my experience was unlike many others, but I was thoroughly unimpressed in nearly every aspect. A friend and I arrived and seated ourselves outside. We waited for a few minutes and a waiter stopped by and brought a QR code for the menu and left water glasses (with no water or offer of water). We waited about 10 minutes for the waiter to come back so we could order drinks. Then we waited another 15 minutes for drinks. We ordered the snails as an appetizer. These were below average. They were so heavy with pesto, there was virtually no other taste. Pesto on bread would have been just as satisfying. Then we ordered the rosemary lamb chops cooked to medium. I asked for a wine pairing recommendation, and was recommended a white. I prefer a full-bodied red pairing with lamb, and was then recommended the Brouilly. Terrible recommendation. It was sweet and light. It tasted like grape juice that left nothing on the pallet. I'm not sure there could have been a worse pairing. The lamb came out and was obviously over cooked. After the first bite, it was clearly not seasoned at all. There was no rosemary, salt, or pepper. The cook (I'm hesitant to call a chef) seemed to have no concept of the Maillard reaction, or how that pertains to cooking meat. There was heavy char on some parts, which tasted just like char. On other parts of the chops, there was no brown crust at all, yet it was still over cooked throughout. The potatoes and mushrooms were pretty good. The green beans were lazily prepared, and looked like leftovers from a distant meal. Many had stems still on them, and there was also just cut stems mixed in. Some were green as they should be, while others were drab, dull looking, and soggy. After we ate, we indicated that we were ready to pay. We waited 20 minutes for the waiter to finally come back. He seemed surprised by the tip. Perhaps the surprise was, despite his best efforts of what seemed like purposely ignoring us, we still tipped. This mind game, besides this review, seemed like the only possible recourse we had. Maybe this place is good, and we just had a bad experience. Maybe it was just an off night. Maybe they don't like Americans. Or maybe this place is just not very good.

Yelp
I was visiting Paris and our hotel recommended this restaurant. Wow best recommendation by far, the veal stew was incredible and perfect for fall/winter weather. The service was outstanding and friendly.,, I can't wait to go back to this restaurant.

Yelp
I really, really like La Maison. Nestled in a residential neighborhood, they have a cute patio and a nice dinning room. As the traffic is slow in this area, you can actually sit on the patio and enjoy a peaceful conversation. The wait staff is very nice and helpful. I am a native French speaker who brought a couple of non French colleagues, I was afraid I would have to do continuous translation but no, the wait staff spoke good English and even had English menus. Shout out to Helene and Romain who are present, bring great suggestions and are just so pleasant to chat with. The food we tried is always well executed, tastes fresh and is fairly priced for the portion and quality you get. My favorite dishes are the snails served with a pesto sauce, the beef tartare and the house made lemon pie that is just so huge. Definitely worth a try.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I don't speak any other language than english and we had no issue finding this place. The food was delicious and so was the wine. We got escargot, lamb chops and rib steak. Everything was spectacular! The issue we had here was our food took forever! From the time we ordered it to when we got it took 45 minutes, while everyone around us who sat after us seemed to be getting their food extremely quick. Aside from the wait everything was great I wish I had more lamb chops right now!
google avatar

Charles M.

Yelp
Terrible food and service. It took forever to be seated and when we were seated the waiter clearly waited us slowly. It was a dirty restaurant. Cutlery noticebly was minimally washed and food was grizzly. Would not recommend especially because there are numerous similar French bistros around.

Yelp
I've had the pleasure of dining here twice now, and both times have been a great experience. The first time, my crew and I happen to be walking in the neighbourhood and came across the quaint square this place is located. It was a balmy summer evening and we decided to sit outside. The food here is simple and prepared with care. They really spotlight on the qualities of the ingredients instead of masking them with lots of sauces. My burrata and tomato salad was fresh and refreshing on that hot day. That was last summer and I still remember how good it was. I took some crew members here again last week and everyone was thoroughly satisfied. The servers here are very friendly and will be happy to speak in English, describe in detail not only the specials of the day but pretty much most of the menu. One girl even went to the extent of describing the dishes as they came out of the kitchen. " You see that there? That's the lamb knuckle! Our specialty, it's delicious!" The menu is big enough to cater to many tastes, but not so much that you can't decide what to eat. The price point is reasonable for the neighbourhood and it's convenient that it's continuous service. A word of warning for the ladies: If you take a picture, the adorable waiters will photobomb your shot. 13/100

Yelp
Best duck breast we had on our short Paris days. It really looked like a steak, and i have never seen duck cut this way. The scallope potato is tres bien! Smooth and creamy. We had the best server, ever in Paris! He took back the pate that was a mistake and miscommunication. Had the best ice cream by Bhertillion (spell?), chocolate noir, tasted like a melted truffle ice cream, so smooth, rich and you can tell the chocolate is very high quality cocoa. Im very pleased with this place, food and service. Cest magnifique!

Noanya S.

Yelp
The service at this place was the worst....we walked for a bit to get here and it was cold...when we arrived we were not aware that reservations were required. When we told the guy at the door that we had no reservations he was very rude and told us no go out to the other door...of course we didn't really understand but asked another guy if we could sit on the patio, he said yes but we were turned off from that point....the food was pretty good but the service was lacking

Yelp
Nice bistro close to Porte maillot. It is very reasonably priced for Paris and has a good menu selection.

Yelp
Great restaurant wine, food and service was A+ We're from NYC and we loved this restaurant. I loved the soup, salad, and veal stew. The waiter knew perfect English and was very nice. The prices were reasonable. 100% would recommend this to anyone looking for a great French bistro in Paris.

Yelp
Great spot. I got the veal stew and my wife had the bass filet. Great atmosphere and the staff spoke english. It wasn't cheap but it was good.

Yelp
After a long day of travel, Yelp led us to this lovely little cafe near our hotel. For someone who's never been to Paris, this place is bubbling over with Parisan charm in a perfect setting off a picture-perfect neighborhood park. We had a lovely waiter who was friendly, made a few great recommendations, and had no problem with our lack of French speaking ability. The leg of lamb and veal stew were fantastic. The veal in a light, but rich cream sauce was a pleasant surprise. Sopping up the leftovers with the baguette was a guilty pleasure that I would gladly repeat nightly if I lived nearby. If you happen to be staying near here, do not hesitate to stop in, and don't be put off by the wine list. Let them pick for you. They didn't lead us astray, and they kept it inexpensive without asking.

Yelp
Excellent service. The waiter brought English menus, having assumed we'd need them, but was kind enough to ask if we wanted French or English menus. He was super helpful in explaining the specials. The food was fantastic.

Yelp
American approved! La Maison is certainly a gem in the heart of Paris. Located very close to the Arc De Triomphe, this restaurant stands out against the others with similar names with exceptional service and top notch food. After looking through the photos on Yelp, my family decided to visit the restaurant for dinner. Arriving at 10:45, the place appeared to be on the closing end of the shift but that did not hinder our meal one bit. The menus were written with a script style of font, making it somewhat difficult to read, but after showing our waiter the photos he made all the right suggestions. I had the Sirloin Steak with fries and it was the BEST steak I have had in Paris. When ordering it "medium," I typically am I bit worried (in Paris) due to multiple previous experiences with the meat arriving too rare. This was not the case at La Maison, my steak was perfect, I am talking slightly crispy on the outside and a small hint of pink on the inside... No blood whatsoever. It came with a pepper sauce which I highly recommend, and the portion was very acceptable. The service was excellent, upon arrival we were seated immediately which was nice because that does not happen to frequently in this city. Our drinks came out quickly and our food even quicker. Every person at my table was surprised at how fast our food arrived, and the quality of the dishes (two steaks, one chicken & one fish dish) all perfectly done. We concluded our dinner with a creme brulee or what they list as the vanilla bourbon dessert. Overall with the exceptional service and food, all the way down to the dessert, this place is GREAT. Do not waste your time looking for another place to eat, as they offer salads (for those looking for alternatives to meat) which looked excellent. They also offer a nice assortment of wine which my girlfriend enjoyed.

Yelp
The ambiance is nice and the food is terrific. The portions are very big so order accordingly! After the escargot I could barely finish half of my salad and tartare. Everything tasted excellent and was prepared as I would expect. The only problem was that my server seemed to be a little bit green; he made some rookie mistakes like not bringing cutlery or water. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking for some authentic French cuisine in a quiet, laid-back atmosphere...
