We stayed at La Maison Vieille in September and loved the experience. Our room was lovely and spacious - would absolutely recommend for anyone traveling with a group of family or friends, since our room had three beds and two couches. The windows overlooked the courtyard, which was quiet and lovely to look out on. The absolute highlight was the breakfast. Almost everything was handmade and fresh, even the bread! The location directly outside of the citadel was also ideal and there are many nice restaurants to dine at along the street just a short walk away. I know that some people prefer staying within the city walls, but I would absolutely recommend this over that, as it was far quieter and was still a short walk from the city walls. The only small issue was that the hotel does not take card payments, so it was slightly more difficult for me to pay as a foreigner. However, Catherine was very patient and helpful with the more complicated payment situation. All in all, would recommend, especially for group travel!

What a fantastic bed and breakfast. We stayed 6 nights in early October in one of the rooms overlooking the inner courtyard. All the staff were pleasant and helpful, and the room was extremely comfortable with a lovely big, comfy bed. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of different options, and it all felt very fresh. The B&B is perfectly placed with a 10 minute walk into the medieval city and about the same into the 'new' city, just over the bridge. We used the airport shuttle to get to and from the B&B, as it stops a couple of minutes walk from it at Pont Neuf, and at 6 euros each it was great value. Heartily recommend this beautiful B&b if you are visiting this beautiful city

One of the best B&Bs I have ever stayed in. Warm welcome from Catherine matched by non imposing attentiveness by Valerie at breakfast time set the tone. We had a beautiful spacious room with a wet room, more than sufficient for our needs. Location was perfect, lots of restaurants nearby and the medieval city and the new town both easily accessible on foot. The highlight was the breakfast, it seems our hosts rise hours beforehand to ensure freshly baked cakes were available. Couldn't fault this venue and looking forward to returning already.

We recently had a three night stay in this amazing B&B. It is a perfect location at the foot of the medieval city and next to Pont-Vieux the old bridge. |The room over looked the courtyard and was excellent, with plenty of space and an excellent walk in shower. It was an ideal base and very comfortable.|Breakfast was excellent with a great choice and very good quality served in a very relaxed atmosphere with the other guests. . |There are plenty restaurants, bars and small shops on the same street, so everything on your door step.|We would happily return to this wonderful B&B and would highly recommend.

Wow! When you come to Carcassonne, you absolutely have to stay here. It is very conveniently located between the old and new parts of town, and close to free parking. The rooms are huge and each is decorated to a different theme. Your room may have a luxurious bathtub or a nice sized shower. The breakfast buffet has numerous options and a friendly person to attend any requests you may have. The owner is attentive and helpful. Our stay was for 5 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had a lovely 2night stay in this hidden gem. The room was gorgeous, roomy and very quirky with a view of the Cite de Carcassonne. We slept like babes. The breakfast was pleasant, although missed croissants & pastries! A very pleasant communal area, which we failed to use because there wasn’t time, maybe next time!

We stayed here fo 3 nights. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated in a shabby chic style. The bath/shower, basin etc are in the bedroom with a separate WC. The mattress is very hard. The communal areas consist of a pretty courtyard which provides some outside space, (you can sit there for breakfast), a lounge area and a kitchen dining area with a large table for communal breakfasts. Breakfast was ok, would’ve been nice to have had some croissants or pastries ( pattiserie over the road) rather than the dry cakes, and some fruit (just some slices of watermelon every day). We did not see the owners at all. The position is excellent being near to the city, and with restaurants and bars nearby.

Gorgeous home. In fact, we felt so at home in this tastefully decorated house. Huge comfortable bedroom and big bed. Strong multi shower ! Downstairs, the lounge, dining rooms & kitchen were also spacious, comfortable & had everything . Breakfast was good too. We were warmly welcomed by Catherine (I think) & the breakfast staff were very helpful & friendly. ||Location great. Walk to the walled city. . Restaurants outside hotel . Parking was free nearby! One of the best places we have stayed in on this around France trip! ||Highly recommended.
