They are so slow we waited 35 minutes for 3 tacos a torta and a quesadilla. It wasn't even packed 2 people in front of us and definitely not worth the wait. First and last time there. If I can give it negative star I would.

10/10 birria tacos, super crunchy, cheesy, and yummy‼ We went to the Friday Night Munchies event and their truck was there, so that's where we got the tacos.

Yummy spot for birria. We got the mamalona plate which comes with a taco suave, taco dorado, quesataco, mulita, tostada, and consome. We got it with the birria de res and it was so delicious! The quesataco was chefs kiss I really enjoyed the crispy tortillas on each of the choices. This taco truck posts where they're located on ig and are often with other trucks on the weekends.

I got two queso tacos, one of Al Pastor, and one of Birria de res. The Al pastor was tender and flavorful! The Birria was juicy, flavorful as well, and not excessively greasy which birria can tend to be. I also ordered an horchata agua fresca, which is huge by the way and also pretty sweet. Service was friendly, and very helpful! They had outside seating for about 8 to 12 people. I look forward to coming back again.

Loved this! Split this between three people as we weren't that hungry but wanted tacos. Would definitely come back. The crunchy quesotaco was my favorite for sure.

Great spot for my cravings. Had burria mulitas, asada, Burria, and tripa Tacos. Miguel and chingon had great salsa and Jugo de Jamaica. Fast and dope service. Eating outside at their table setup was a good start for my day.

I've been to this place plenty of times and the food is always good. I went tonight ordering 3 Al Pastor Tacos and a soft quesadilla. They seemed really busy only one person cooking up everything, but I didn't mind the wait because I know the food is good. I was told Al Pastor ran out waiting around for 15 minutes, so I changed my tacos to asada. I get home and the quesadilla they advertised on their tv, instagram, and this Yelp page show a single flour tortilla folded in half. The item I got looks like something entirely different. You're killing me here...

Got to the destination and La Mamalona Birria was not here. There is a different vender name Chariztortas. They were really nice and helpful. So I ordered this.

We got Birria tacos with consome. The tacos were very salty and the consome was okay. The quantity was very little compared to other places. We came here at 9:30 pm, so 30 min before closing, so maybe the quality wasn't at its best. But anyways, we got what we were craving at the time. Service was quick. This taco truck is located next to many other ones.

Green salsas are off the walllll Consome needed a bit of work, a touch watery/not strong enough beefiness for my taste ===== Came here the other night with bae. $20 gets you a birria quesadilla, a quesotaco, birria soft taco (suave) birria crunchy taco (Rico?) Birria quesadilla They really pack on the meat here. We did request light cheese, but would have appreciated just a touch more lol maybe ask for "some" cheese and not "light cheese" haha Birria soft taco I didn't try this, but bae preferred the crunchy one. He said he'd stick to the crunchy Birria crunchy taco Crunchy indeed, ample filling. Deep fried and dipped into the consome, what is there to not like. Birria quesotaco I liked this a lot! The cheese kinda congealed, and it was a bit much, but I loved how it was chewy and crunchy and when you dip it into the consome/salsa, it was more elevated. The salsas!!! Avocado one had chunks of avocado and was just uniquely flavored. I really liked this, would love if they gave more though. The brown green one is really good too!! Idk what I'm eating, but I'd def come back for a quesadilla dipped into their glorious salsas. Service was friendly, I think it's family owned. Show them some love since parking is easy on the corner of a plaza! Thanks for existing!

On a recent weekend night we came looking for the Mamalona specifically. My wife has been wanting to try this truck and we knew it has been posting up in the Central Ave taco truck area. So off we went. Luckily it was not too hard to find and not many people had shown up yet. Kinda early. As veterans of this taco truck street you will know that you'll have to park on the outskirts and walk in towards the trucks. For around $40 we got the Mamalona fries, Quesadilla w/ birria, and probably like 6 tacos? Not too bad, not 100 percent on exact order, but the Mamalona fries were sure worth the money. like 3 people ate off that. What can I say Birria was really good as was the consome that was included with order. It was to go and they included everything like salsas, limes, napkins, etc.... Tacos were pretty good size as was the quesadilla. One thing i did not realize was that they also had a sit down area and you could order from there and the truck. Take your pick.

Love the crunchy Birria tacos with cheese and yummy mild and super hot sauces. Order by phone and pick up, as parking is tough. Love this place, you've got to try it!

Meat is tender and delicious, but should have ordered with cheese. My bad! For the picky eater (aka my kid) they can do a plain quesadilla. If you are hungry or a good eater, the burrito is your best bet. And if you get the birria for the burrito you will need to order the side of cosome for it otherwise it's just like having plain shredded beef.

One of my favorite birrias in the area! Always good and the folks are lovely. Highly recommend

Found this food truck at the Rossmor Holiday event in the park. All the trucks were pretty pricey but this one seemed decent. Birria is the hot thing these days among the Mexican food genre and this place did not disappoint. We ended up going with the mulita taco and I found that the meat was tender and the tortilla was nice and crispy with cheese inside. It came with some side of lime which played nicely off the greasy goodness. Unfortunately it didn't come with any salsa to go but there was some salsa in bottles that they had which were creamy and added a bit of spicy. It was also nice and hot so you could tell it was just made. I would consider going back to this food truck if I'm able to track it down again in the future!

My bf and I went to the Tianguis Farmers Market over the weekend and saw a few food trucks were stationed there. La Mamalona Birria was one of the ones I wanted to check out because I'm a fan of birria. I ordered two birria tacos, two birria quesadillas, and a Mexican Coke to share with the bf. Let me just say, I think we could have just done one of the quesadillas instead of two because it was really heavy and filling. The tacos were the perfect street taco size and that was delicious. They were stuffed with birria and we added the salsa for our enjoyment. Be careful of the red sauce, it has a bit of a spicy kick. Our order came out to just under $27 which is a tad pricey but it's a food truck and entrance to the Farmers Market was free. We were stuffed but that was a good thing. If you see them around, try the birria tacos!

I'm on a birria challenge- trying all the spots in Orange County! My husband and I shared the Mamalona sampler. It comes with a taco, dorado, quesataco, tostada, and mulita. In addition, you get the consume and a choice of drink. My favorite was definitely the mulita. This sampler alone is not meant to feed two people, so I would recommend perhaps ordering an additional mulita or dorado/quesataco each with your order. Note: The red sauce is spicier than the average red sauce you would get at a taco spot, and I looooooved the extra kick. My husband couldn't take it- way too spicy for him. I would probably only skip the taco. Everything else was delicious and also soooo crunchy- just the way I like it, while dipped in the consume! Can't wait to come back!

while browsing for a good birria place in the area, this spot caught mine and my boyfriends eyes. we have always wanted to try birria ramen and this was our chance. they did NOT disappoint. the tacos were made perfectly, great portions, fair price. the ramen was the best part of it all. all the flavor combinations and the perfectly cooked meat made our foodie hearts so happy. the girl with the pink hair who took our order was the sweetest, and we will definitely be returning soon! if you're thinking about trying this place, go for it. total price for our order with 4 quesatacos w birria, 1 birria ramen and 1 consommé was only $26! filled us both up so fast.

Second time coming to mamalona. Their tacos are amazing! The Arabe and pastor are my go to with their freshly handmade tortillas and good salsas! I used to go to banditos with their pink tortillas but now this is my go to for tacos. I decided to try their carne asada fries from the truck side and I was a disappointed being that their tacos are fabulous but the asada fries are a no go. Still a solid 4/5!

My boyfriend accidentally left an envelope full of cash here and they saved it for him and gave it back to him. GOD BLESS THESE PEOPLE for their kindness and honesty. Made our day. There are good people in the world. Also, the birria tacos are top TIER.

Delicious! I'm so happy I decided to try this food truck. I ordered tacos dorados with cheese inside. The best I've ever tasted! I wish I would have gotten the consomé to go along with them. Their agua fresa is really good as well. Highly recommend!

The service was friendly and quick but unfortunately I did not like the birria tacos. They were dry stale and lacked flavor. The res was very tough. I do not recommend.

Drove around but couldn't find the truck. Tried calling. No one answered. I'd comment on the food, but I'm unable to try it. Will update review if I ever do.

Decided to randomly stop by a local taco truck on the way home. Tacos were nice and crispy and green sauce was yum! Would come back again if I'm in the area. Glad it was enjoyable.

I was starving after work and looking for a unique place in Santa Ana with excellent food to try. I definitely found it. Some of the best consommé I have ever had. You could tell a lot of love care and quality went into the preparation of the food. It only happens when people are passionate about providing excellent service mixed with excellent food!

Great tasting Birria no doubt, hand made tortillas just completes the taste, totally recommend it

This place is amazing. It always hits the spot. Food is always hot and delicious. The staff here are so amazing and friendly. The food is great and price is amazing affordable. We can on a rainy day and the consomé hit the spot. 10/10 recommend it. It's a must when you are in Santa Ana.

Food was great! I've been looking for a traditional Mexican food truck since moving from El Paso and I found it! I tried the Mamalona and everything was good. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this is it!

The food is amazing, highly recommend the birria with homemade tortillas, and the freshly made salsa. Asada tacos are also very good. Oh & the horchata is great too.

Great food at a great price, I'm glad I found a place where I can go and know the food has an amazing flavor from their handmade tortillas,salsas and aguas frescas everything is really good.
