The family who owns La Marejada takes such pride in their property and makes you feel right at home. The minute we arrived, Coco took us on a tour of the very clean hotel and shared information about activities, restaurants and excursions. Gail was always available to assist us with transportation needs and anything we needed. The beach is a short walk across the street with beautiful sunsets and fantastic surfing. Our beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet during the day and night. We enjoyed yummy pancakes and coffee each morning and sushi for dinner. Oh, and the mojitos at happy hour are so refreshing! Hammocks are plentiful for siestas alongside a nice pool. It was a worry-free week at the La Marejada Hotel!

I spent a peaceful and relaxing week here while attending a Sister Surf & Yoga Retreat in November. I love this quaint, little hotel and this was my second time staying here. There is a glorious row of tall palm trees lining the walkway along the pool and a beautiful pink flowering tree that frames the second floor balcony. Once you step inside the gate you are in a pretty place with helpful, pleasant employees who make you feel at home. My room was clean and comfortable. I absolutely love the food at their open air restaurant. I highly recommend trying Marco’s Homemade fettuccine and ravioli, as well as the chocolate cake. The típico breakfast is my favorite and their sushi night is amazing too! Everything is good here. This is a great, affordable place to stay within walking distance to gorgeous Playa Grande beach!

Gail and her staff are so incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful for anything you need. La Marejada is a gorgeous, clean property, and she makes you feel at home when you arrive. Plenty of nooks to relax in or active things to do near by. We rented surf boards directly from them for the week, and ate many delicious meals at the restaurant. This particular slice of the beach and the surrounding community are really something special. Locals and tourists regularly interact among their shared love of great surf waves, delicious food, and support of other great walk-able businesses in the area.

Our group stayed at the Westin at Playa Conchal and we kept talking about when we all wanted to come back! We could not speak more highly of this resort. The rooms, the food, the pool, the drinks, the service were all top notch! The only thing was there was not much to do after the sun went down. But this ended up forcing us to crawl into bed early (we were really tired by then anyway haha) and wake up early with the sun to utilize the daylight time. The beach is conveniently and amazingly close. The beach was gorgeous and the waves were so fun to swim in. Don't miss out on taking advantage of the boogie boards, snorkeling gear and kayaks that are included (YES!) in the all-inclusive resort fee. We were blown away by our experience and will be so excited to return (hopefully) soon!||||Note: if you are interested in day tours to Volcano, Rainforest, Tamarindo, etc....Andrei from ConchalFun will be on the beach. He was very approachable and transparent about what the tour offers. Amazing service and great prices to pair. It was for sure the best deal than others we had talked to. We took his shuttle/tour (private to our group of 8!) to Taramindo on Monday. Our tour guide Diego was super knowledgable and we felt very safe the whole time. In addition he was so good with the two kids in our group . We had an amazing experience on this tour and would look for Andrei again should we go back to Playa Conchal.

This little hotel is lovely and we were so happy to make it our home for a few days. Located right near the beach. Gail and Marco are welcoming and helpful. There is a pool and space to hang out in hammocks. Great base to explore nearby beaches (if you have a car). The restaurant here was truly wonderful. Fresh pasta made by Marco, delicious mixed drinks, fantastic staff.

Lovely place where we got a warm welcome, they rent surf boards and the breakfast is healthy and delicious!! We appreciated the proximity with the beach and also did some visits to tamarindo 25min and playa flamingo (20min).|The area is nice, rooms are small but clean and ok for a couple.|There’s a yoga spot inside the hotel with some hamacs here and there to chill…|Nice place that we highly recommend for its calm, placement, cleanliness and the nice people working here.|Thank you 🙏

My wife and I stayed here this past weekend and would have to say this place is fantastic! Gail and Marco were terrific hosts. Anything we needed they were there to help. Gail even hooked me up with a board the weeks prior to our stay, which was rad. The hotel is situated walking distance to the beach were the surf in my opinion, when good, has the best waves in Guanacaste. So nice to have your own chairs on the deck and with the atmosphere of the pool, you cant beat it. They also have a spot for yoga and plenty of surfboards in their quiver to get you psyched for those dawn patrols or sunset sessions. Breakfast was delicious and the hotel was the cleanest that we stayed in on our roadtrip through northern CR! If your looking for a super chill laid back spot with all the best amenitites then this is it. Next time we come through we'd be staying here for a lot longer, thats for sure!
