Went to this place today to find out how the famous spot where stracciatella ice cream was first made looks like. The place itself is designed perfectly! Looks so cosy, showcases are full with all kind of sweets and ice cream sorts. We ordered couple of scoops of hazelnut, baccio, wien and of course THE stracciatella. All of them were perfect, it's hard to say which one was better! So, to sum up, it was easily one of the best ice creams I've had, definitely would recommend to anyome reading this to come by. A small downside was that the staff member seemed a bit irritated by having to speak English with us, which I understand can be tiring for some people, I won't let that affect my overall impression. It's a 5/5.

Day trip to Bergamo, I stopped by to try Stracciatella (chocolate chip gelato). It is a birthday place of stracciatella. I am not big chocolate chip ice cream person. It was creamy and it was good. I wanted wafer cone, it is only come in 3 scoops, 4.50 euro. The wafer cone was okay. The other two favors were pistachios and strawberry. Stracciatella was the best of the three. Is it better than other gelato, not really.

This is the birthplace of Stracciatella, so naturally I had to try it—even though it was absolutely freezing outside. I ordered a latte macchiato and a scoop of Stracciatella. The latte macchiato was… fine. Let’s call it a 4.5 out of 10. Given that it was late afternoon, I was mostly just grateful they were still willing to serve me coffee with milk without openly shaming me. The Stracciatella itself wasn’t mind-blowing, but hey—I can now officially say I’ve eaten it where it was born. And that alone earns me a small but satisfying bragging right.

A beautiful venue with disappointing gelato. My friend and I stopped by during our day trip to Bergamo. Having previously lived in Italy and being a lover of gelato she was keen to have some at the birth place of stracciatella. Unfortunately our gelato was very melted and turned to liquid very quickly. When we spoke to staff they were dismissive and insisted that was the consistency of gelato compared to ice-cream. When my friend explained that she had lived in Italy and eaten a lot of gelato in her time, they started to backtrack offering to replace one of the three flavours she had ordered as the other two were still quite soft. Disappointing to say the least.

I dis not like the vibe. They complain about everything. The cashier told us to go to the giardino and then the waitress asked us in a very rude way “who told us that?” Your manager or colleguee told us that? Before you think wrong I am not Italian but my husband is so the whole conversation was in Italian. No room for misunderstanding. Also then the waitress complained a lot about other customers, super rude. I do understand the italian culture and how the are towards the turists or inmigrants but grow up, you are living because of them if you have a gelateria that is being promlted everywhere. Finally, as a big fan of l stracciatella/granizado I really appreciate that i had been created here but it was not the best and it was not worth of 6 euros la copeta of due gusti.

At La Marianna, the birthplace of Stracciatella, simplicity turns into perfection. A scoop of history, a taste of tradition, and the delicate balance of cream and chocolate that has enchanted the world since 1961. Pure Italian elegance in a cone.

Good Gelato, cozy place, and options of dessert. Even it is chill, the outside terrace is a good place to relax. Gelato recomended: Stratiachella Pistachio

Great vibes here. Very popular and turnover is fast, so it's okay to wait a while for a table. Staff are super friendly!

A bit off the beaten track on the upper part of bergamo. Supposedly this where straciatella was invented. Solid gelato, good selection of flavors ranging from traditional chocolates, lots of fruit flavored ones as well. Nice seating area outside for dine in customers only. Definitely worth a try if you're in Bergamo as it's a short hike from the funicular station connecting lower and upper cities.

Went to the restaurant upstairs. A very local place. The food was good but not exceptional. Be careful if ordering the veal cutlet: it is for 2 and very dry. Pasta should be the primary choice. Got to try the ice cream for 2. Our waiter was friendly but not very helpful.

This surprisingly large gelateria tucked away in an almost missable corner of Citta' Alta is where the unforgettable stracciatella ice cream was first created. This claim to fame pulls in the tourists but there a plenty more reasons to return time and time again. The most obvious method of indulgence here is in the marvellous gelato offered in a wide variety of flavours. With prices beginning at 1.50Euros, it's almost a crime not to! Sandwiches, salads, polenta cakes, gingerbreads and a vast array of other little delicacies are also on offer and are to be recommended! Even just to enter this gelateria is a great experience as the decor and never ending sweet counters provide a real Italian feast for the eyes.

this is where they first created stracciatella gelato. i didn't know what to expect at first... it was sweet but not too sweet. the chocolate pieces added a perfect touch to it. for un gusti size it was 1,50 euros. i wish i got the due gusti for 2,50.

Best gelato in Bergamo. The staff was a little rude and impatient when my daughter wanted to try some flavors. Because this was her first time ordering gelato in Italy, she had no idea what flavors the would like. If it weren't for that it would have received 5 stars.

The restaurant is beautiful, really pleasant and the food is just as enjoyable but most of all you should go the gelateria to try the STRACCIATELLA flavor. It was invented there and is the only stracciatella you will ever want to eat.
