La Marmite Restaurant traditionnel, bistrot, cave à vins naturel

We are a couple on our honeymoon and had previously eaten lunch out at a restaurant every day of our trip through Iceland, Amsterdam, and Brussels. All at top rated places. This was the best lunch meal we have had on our trip so far. Everything was perfectly cooked and the ingredients fresh. You can feel the love from the kitchen and the attention to detail that they put in to every preparation. It was also extremely affordable for the quality of the food. A wonderful meal.

Small restaurant in the centre of Nimes. Service and food were impeccable. Great wine and desserts. There are only 2 dishes of the day available in the menu, so no kids menu, nuggets, steak haché etc. But the staff and the chef will find a way to serve a nice dish for children based on the daily menu. The two dishes we had, a steak dish and a vegetarian chili con carne, were amazing. Definitely going back soon!

Authentic, local, unpretentious. We ate there many times during our stay in Nîmes. The food was always fresh and prepared perfectly. Excellent experience.

Saturday night at the Marmite blooming marvellous boudin crispy on the outside melting inside , apple , mashed potato. scallops in the shell with a sliver of crispy pork and coriander pesto were juicy and generous asparagus , perfect egg, parmesan cream and hazelnuts homemade frites top quality melting and crispy tripe with a touch of vinegar all without exception spot on. plus a bottle of ludovic angelvin's Cruelle and Thierry Forestier's Altissima all that for under 140€ . lively service in the resto thoroughly recommended

One of the best addresses in nimes. There is a daily menu that changes every day with one starter one main and few deserts options for 15euro for lunch. The menu freshly cooked and decided on the day. Ingredients are good, cuisine feels very homy. I had a very good croque miette as a desert that was presented to me by the very young chef of desert who you could feel was very excited and happy about his job which I liked a lot. The desert also ended up being this delicious type of crumble with more texture to it. Every time I am back in Nimes La Marmitte is one of the first place I'm checking. They also just moved into a much bigger space than their original one which means they can serve more people !

Simple well cooked classic French food. Great value
