🌟 La Masardona in Naples is a culinary gem that offers an authentic taste of Neapolitan tradition! 🍕 From the moment I arrived, the staff’s warmth and hospitality stood out. Despite the bustling crowd opting for takeout, they graciously opened the cozy seating area just for me, ensuring a comfortable and personalized dining experience. 🪑💫 I indulged in their renowned pizza fritta, and it exceeded all expectations. The dough was light and airy, with a perfectly crisp exterior, encasing a flavorful filling that was both rich and satisfying. It’s evident why this establishment has been cherished since 1945. The ambiance, combined with the delectable offerings and exceptional service, made my visit truly memorable. For anyone seeking genuine Neapolitan flavors and heartfelt hospitality, La Masardona is a must-visit! 🇮🇹❤️

So freaking good!! I tried 4 different ones and they were all hits. Nice both as sit down and as to go. Even if you don’t typically like fried food, I would still recommend it. It does not leak oil and it feels very light.

If you are in Naples, whether it’s your first time,5th or 10th. This place is a must! The food is absolutely amazing and cheap! The staff is friendly and locals eat here. Got 4 pizza fritte and a beer for €22 🤯. Absolutely loved the provola e pomodoro pizza fritte and the choclate ice cream pizza fritte!! Will definitely be returning.

Fried pizza - it is delicious. A real cross section of folks lined up to order lunch when I was there. Great craftsmanship to make the pizzas and calzones. Pretty close to the ration station if you stop over in Naples (ex. Rome to Pompeii). Don’t ask to w many questions about the health aspect of eating fried bread and cheese.

Fried pizza with cheese fillings was way too greasy. So as the cheese melts it’s grease is absorbed into the rising crust during the deep frying. The grease will pool onto the cheese and make its way to the surface of pizza. Take out was 20 min which was fair given its popularity. 1 euro for a meal slice of the most basic flavor is charitable in today’s economy.

We ordered salad, fried pizza with tomato and fried pizza with meat. Everything was delicious! I suggest you order the smaller sized pizza, so that you can order a dessert! We ordered a fried pizza with chocolate ice cream. It was a little messy but very satisfying! We were sad that it was not Tuesday and we couldn’t try their “don’t miss” Tuesday special. There are two lines, one for take out and one for sit down dining.

If you want to try the original fried pizza, you must come here. The quality is high, the price is very good and the service fast. In certain hours, you could have to wait for a while, but usually not a long wait. It is near the railway station Napoli Centrale, therefore it's also quite comfortable and useful.

This place is a wonder land! My first go-to place from airport, for my 1st Naples trip. I understand zero Italian, luckily there was another tourist girl help to translate. Just ordered the cheapest one, the famous fried pizza with cheese filling (2.5euro). Juicy, well-balanced flavour and texture, so satisfying…

Yelp
I am an outlier. Everyone hyped this place up so much that I couldn't wait to give it a shot. That said, maybe I was still jetlagged from the travel; perhaps it was the city's overall vibe that I couldn't find a way to enjoy, but to me? This fried pizza here was a fried, greasy hot pocket. I thought it was incredibly doughy, and the filling-to-bread ratio was off; I searched for the smoked mozzarella more than I should have in each bite. Nothing was coming easy from this place. That said, the service was excellent. They were friendly to my terrible Italian, efficient, and had me in and out rather quickly and honestly, It was still worth it. This is, I think, one of those things that food nerds have to try when they are in Naples. It's the precursor to modern pizza and its worth of attention for that if nothing else.

Yelp
My wife was pretty keen on catching the first train out of Naples, but because my brain doesn't function well early in the morning, I accidentally booked us on one an hour away. Well, it's a good thing I'm an idiot, because this is the best first meal in Italy I could possibly ask for. Fried pizza. Probably unnecessary, but undeniably delicious. We walked over, and spent €2 each on the SMALLER size...they were huge, delicious, and full of fresh ingredients. It's portable, it's affordable, it's fried pizza, for Pete's sake. You cannot go wrong. The completa is a winner though, if you need some guidance. Also, I'm fairly sure the Veganina isn't vegan, just vegetarian, so it's only half-wrong.

Yelp
The first time I went to this place I went in the evening and it was closed so I made sure I went during lunch on my next trip to napoli and boy this place is special - the fried pizza is absolutely divine and its so affordable - its a very popular place filed with locals - the staff is friendly and it should be on every pizza lovers list of places to visit! They also have a Nutella desert pizza which is super yummy

Yelp
Just coming off a flight we were hungry! We found this place close to our Airbnb for a quick bite. They have a quick carry out area separate from their dine in area plus it had air conditioning which was a big plus! The food was quick and fresh! Mine was an inside out pizza stuffed with cheese and diced porchetta. It was a little different since the bread was completely fried. A whole pizza for 7€ you can't beat that and made to order

Yelp
The service, menu and beer selections were excellent. Everything on the menu is fried. Enough said! I ordered a pizza with smoked cheese and peppers, supposedly. The inside of my pizza pocket was mushy and a tad over salted. However, the dough itself was deliciously perfect. I enjoyed my meal with a beer after a long train ride. This place was worth the walk!

Yelp
You will be blown away by this family owned restaurant. Of the 2 days I was in Naples, I had 3 meals here. I still crave the taste of their mozzarella! They helped me in English, and really took care of me as a customer. The staff here has been THE greatest staff I've come across in all of Italy. On the last day the owner's son, Chris, gave us a lesson in the back as how he makes his pizzas in the kitchen. 10/10 would recommend trying their food, very low price as well!! Can't wait to come back one day.

Yelp
This is an easy FIVE STAR review as far as street food is concerned. The staff at the MLA Move Language Ahead office insisted I go here and try the fried pizza --- they were right! This is a small carry-out / eat outside at one of their few hightop tables, kind of establishment. It is all family run with the dad and the son standing behind a simple and clean counter making hundreds of these fried pizzas a day (lunch only). The menu is simple; choose your toppings from their approximately twelve varieties and they put them inside of their fresh, chewy, delicious dough. We chose a vegetable pizza with provolone cheese and the "complete" which has ricotta and a kind of bacon inside. Once your toppings are carefully placed inside the fresh hand-stretched dough the pocket is sealed by a few good pounds on the marble counter and then carefully placed into the bubbling hot oil. A second helper stirs the pizza around and continues to cover it with hot oil as if were an egg roll at a good Chinese takeout. Once golden brown it is removed from the oil, wrapped in butcher paper, and PRESTO, it's ready to eat! You may think this is too simple to be good, but that's the whole point. When you take fresh ingredients, a small menu, and do everything right you have a HOMERUN! The taste? Well, just look at my pictures and let them speak for themselves. My only advice is get in a taxi now and tell the driver ANDIAMO! Oh, and did I mention they also cut their fried dough into finger-size prices and cover it in Nutella! YES PLEASE!!!

Yelp
It really wasn't as great as I thought it would be after reading all these reviews. Was it different? Yes, and I'm glad I got the chance to try it out. It just wasn't worthy of 5 stars. My boyfriend and I each got on of the pizzas. I don't think we anticipated how big the pizza was; the price was fairly low, so we thought it would be a small plate. NOPE. We were completely wrong! That was definitely a positive - we got a lot of food for a cheap price. However, it was way too greasy for me. As I bit into the fried pizza, I felt oil seeping into my mouth, along with the sauce, cheese and meat. By the end, I felt like a grease ball and didn't feel like moving from my seat. I don't think I'll be trying this again, but I'm glad I got to experience it while I was in Italy.

Yelp
La Masardona is known for its pizza fritta, a football sized delight of fried dough. The staff advises you to squeeze it like a Go Gurt. When you do that though, the tomato oozes out of it. You are left with cheese stuck in the paper and an empty piece of fried dough. The fried cheese, nice and smokey, was yummy, but it is definitely a difficult item to eat and taste fully.

Yelp
Amazing "Street Food" - Off the beaten path. Thought I was ordering a pie but was pleasantly surprised to receive a beautiful piping hot, freshly fried "empanada" stuffed with ripe tomatoes, basil, bufula & lots of Napoli pride!

Yelp
It's a bit hard to find because the entrance is not obvious. Clean and friendly service. The deep fried pizza with Nutella is delicious!

Yelp
This place was awesome! Just a walk-up spot in the city, had a busy vibe and very awesome people to help you. The pizza is fried inside the dough, and a little messy but so good. We got pizzas and ordered dessert (some sort of Nutella covered fried dough- boom). Even though it was a walk up window, they recommended we eat our pizzas and then come back for them to make the dessert so it was fresh, which was a great idea.

Yelp
Loved the pizza & service. It is just fried pizza FYI. My favorite with the margarita. My second favorite was the most popular dish without the meat. Waiters spoke English and understood Spanish. I enjoyed the experience!!

Yelp
Off the beaten path and a true Napoli experience. Fantastic spot near train station. We stopped and walked to it after the train from Rome and before heading to Pompeii. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. Frying the dough in olive oil...holy cow...it is delicious. I had pizza with arugula, mozzarella and tomatoes on top of fried dough. My husband and sons had variety of fried pizzas with fillings. We were all very happy. Staff were so friendly and invited us to watch the cooking process. Order at window or around side is a air conditioned seating area with toilet.
