Google
Very cute and quaint place! I loved the atmosphere and the ambience. The food was GREAT! Paella was absolutely smashing. We finished it in a matter of MINUTES. They say it’s good for one person but in my experience, it’s good for two already. We had the calamares and the croquetas as well. No complaints about the food SO DELICIOUS!!! But the service wasn’t nice. The lady was rude to us, maybe because we’re tourists? I don’t know.

Google
It is a very nice local for a tourist. The traditional food is very good, also the beer. The waiters are very nice people. I totally recomand if you want an authentic experience. ♥️✨

Google
Nice place for a local draught beer. Place is quite small, so be ready to wait a little longer than usual to get served. Service is like any other place in Spain, plane an simple, not better than any other place

Laura

Google
if you like Belgian beers, you must stop by! they have several taps and a lot of beers directly from Belgium. you can also order food. can wait to come back for another Kwak!

Ray Poly

Google
Really not worth the hype. Food was very bland, like the one you buy in the supermarket, paella was completely tasteless, I don't know how they manage to do that

John-Patrick Quinn

Google
A fantastic local beerhouse in the Centre of Madrid. The friendliest hospitality we have experienced so far in Madrid, and a great beer selection that goes beyond Estrella. A must visit for beer lovers.

Google
Walked passed by this bar&restaurant saw the sandwich board showed paella+drink special deal ,TripAdvisor comment and few tables customers already dining in, we gave a shot, owner very kind and friendly to us notice we don’t speak much Spanish he spoke fine ENG, ordered two different paella, while foods on table, owner even kindly reminded us pans very hot. Tasted food while hot ,flavor rich rice amount enough for one person Shrimp/squid/mussels/la cigala,we finished all cause was tasty ,we’re happy we went there ,after 40days trip around Spain and Portugal this paella still on our top one list, if you ever go Madrid don’t miss this cool bar& restaurant 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Google
<ö+ TasteMarked Reviews +ø> Simple, small, cozy restaurant. Service was a bit slow, they gave us some chips and tapas while waiting. I think we waited for almost 30mins. We ordered: 1. Paella (black) - it was nice and tasty. it’s on a salty side. 2. Pork Ribs - it was still a bit cold when they serve it to us. it was definitely not grilled. very upsetting. 3. Sangria - it was good. Environment: 4:5 Waiting: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 5/5 Service: 4/5 What I liked: - paella negra What I disliked: - NA

Yelp
Service: we were immediately greeted. Food: the beer selection is expensive for the city. Surprisingly, the guy dog was great. The fried onions in the hot dog got the taste out of the ball park! The cheese provided with the beer was excellent. Ambiance: is just right as a gastropub

Yelp
Ambiance was very nice and relaxed, paella was phenomenal! They had a special for 15.90€ for paella and a drink which was really worth it in my opinion! Portions were great, had some leftover! Service was good as well, pretty fast!

Yelp
Great service and amazing international beer selection, including some excellent local ales. For food we tried the sausage tapas. It came with three German-style sausages, sauerkraut, and fries. The sausages were excellent but much larger than we expected for tapas. The sauerkraut was ok. The fries were fine. Very small but we had no problem getting a table at 22:00. Nice find and a good break from Spanish tapas and sangria, especially if you want good beer.

Yelp
Nice little place, lady behind the counter was a bit grumpy but or waiter was a nice young man. Beer is delicious as well as the cheese plate. Cozy and air conditioned!!

Yelp
Couldn't be happier with the service at this restaurant. It is a quaint little spot close to the palace. Our server was extremely nice and very accommodating. He also made some great suggestions from the menu and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. I was very happy with my food, their black paella was delicious! I would 100% recommend stopping by for lunch if you're in the area!

Yelp
First time in Madrid and this place was super welcoming. Staff were really nice and the food was good. The beer selection is huge, I've never seen a beer menu this big before. I would come again

Yelp
Very pleasant lunch after touring the Royal Palace. Easy to find on Calle Mayor. Friendly staff who conversed in English and were kind enough to teach us a little Spanish ( for ordering and at our request). Lunch items were excellent and reasonably priced. Tried a delicious Spanish beer. I'm not expert on beer but they do have a huge selection. Glad we stopped here for lunch.

Yelp
Seafood paella and Seafood marinara pasta was so tasty and just right size to share with one other person. So good, a must try!
google avatar

Katherine L.

Yelp
overall pretty satisfied with all our dishes. the flavor of the paella was nothing special but pretty good. the ham and cheese plate portion size was pretty large and it came with bread. the salad was good but wish it had come up with actual salad and not just tomatoes.

Yelp

Yelp
This restaurant is the second in the city that has spectacular black beans . My partner ordered an extra large take away for his breakfast the next day. I recommend their olive assortment as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Paella + drink for 12.50€ sounded appealing. You wait 30 minutes in a place that is more a pub than a restaurant. The size is for one person and the paella is sought in water. This Paella is definitively better than the one we've had at Rosi La Loca where we paid 30€ However the seafood was not fresh (frozen seafood) and the seafood paella was missing any of the seafood taste (I guess that's why they offer so many different types where they just add whatever you order whether it's meat or seafood). Average paella for a good price. Good place if you want to try paella and are on a budget
google avatar

Lorraine A.

Yelp
Small quaint spot for lunch... love that they gave us complimentary appetizers... the food was very good! We ordered the seafood paella and the oxtail! The seafood paella could've had more seafood, as the langostinos barely had any meat. However the oxtails were delicious!
google avatar

Bob L.

Yelp
They serve the best seafood paella I ever had in Madrid. The rice is rich cooked with seafood stock and they were very generous with their assortment of seafood. Individual paella comes with sangria. Salute.
google avatar

Mark D.

Yelp
I had the stewed oxtail with mashed potatoes. The gravey was rich and flavorful and complimented the potatoes nicely. I had a chance to taste some of the paella and it was pretty decent. If it were the seafood and chicken version, I think i would have enjoyed it even more. Unfortunately my fellow travel partners have a very bland pallet and dislike seafood. They have an impressive selection of beers and the televison was tuned in to the football game.

Yelp
This was my only beer experience here in Madrid. Many websites and tourist guides pointed me here as the most ideal beer pub type place. As soon as I went in, they greeted me although they were busy with customers. They had a very big beer menu with the majority of the selection in bottles. The draft beer selection is around ten selections or so. I tried a local Spanish IPA and it was a bit weaker than I anticipated in terms of hoppiness and aroma. Eh maybe my American taste buds are misaligned to the local preferences. The second beer I got was a Chimay Blue which I also got on draft. I haven't Chimay on draft in a long time and it usually is pricy back in the US. Kudos to the staff for bringing out my snack plate with my drinks. They initially forgot so they apologized immediately. I had already consumed a lot of ham during my trip so wasn't too enthused to eat more. But there's nothing more satisfying than a salty snack with a cold beer. Having tasted and experienced beer in Madrid, check and check.

Yelp
Decent pub to grab a drink. They have a huge beer variety. We had the paella and mushroom risotto. The paella was pretty good and mushroom risotto okay. We wanted to order tapas but they weren't on the menu and our limited Spanish skills didn't lend us to asking. Food comes out slow. I would recommend just getting beers here and taking your appetite elsewhere.

XP L.

Yelp
The place is small so you may not able to find a place to sit down! I ended up sharing a table with an old lady who also came from US which was nice. The paella was good, though I expected there would be more seafood. There is a drink with the dish which was nice.

Yelp
Delicious paella! It was one of the most beautiful, savory things I have had on my trip to Spain. It was a part of our tapas tour (and for a good reason). It had a crazy amount of seafood, pork, and chicken! Each bite felt complete and we were stuffed by the end of it.

Yelp
Great stop after a long day of touring Madrid. I ordered the tenderly soft pork cheeks in chocolate sauce, "Carrillada de Cerdo", buenísimo. Interior is warm and welcoming with its unique decor. My server Jose, who was a jolly and an enthusiastic connoisseur of the local foods and international beers, is not afraid to make well sounding recommendations and pairings.
google avatar

Manoj R.

Yelp
First hop in our beer hopping tour is Madrid. This place is cozy, good selection but quality selection. We tried multiple Chimay with some Olives. It was very good experience.
google avatar

Wanda Z.

Yelp
Nice, unpretentious little place with a superb beer selection, even the ones on tap. We had the Kwak dark beer in the coolest glasses. We also tried the Lentils Rioja, probably the best lentils I've ever had!!! Made very traditionally but so delicious. The crowd is also great, young people and older folks just having great conversations with a drink and friends. Stop here if your in the area, for sure!

Yelp
Was looking for a place to sit and saw the good reviews on yelp. I got the prefix paella with sangria and the gf got the German sausage. First time trying paella and it was delicious minus the langostine with it's head and claws still on. I know it's tradiontionl Spanish style but I can't do i mine. The chicken and the squid was quite tasty though. My gf loved her plate. Who would have thought German food at a Spanish bar would be good. Two types of sausage, homemade kraut and cheese mashed potatoes.

Frank L.

Yelp
amazing paella and the atmosphere was great! really close to the place we were staying and the sangria was so good
google avatar

Yelp
Wow. This is a very quaint tiny place but it's great. Excellent paella with great beers. The service was excellent.
google avatar

Yelp
Five stars for the food, five stars for the beer, and five stars for the service. Would highly recommend the oxtail. Will be returning to watch some games and enjoy a great bar atmosphere.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch before we headed to the Palace. It is a 3-4 minute walk away from the palace. The vegetarian and the chicken and seafood paella were delicious. The rice was cooked perfectly and each of the paellas were flavorful. We also ordered tostas - chicken and iberico ham and cheese. They were also devoured by the family. The paella came with a free drink so we had sangria and a beer. They have an amazing amount of beers available for purchase. The prices are extremely reasonable. Would definitely recommend the place.

Esteban L.

Yelp
Best selection of beer in Madrid we found. Bar tender was extremely helpful, attentive, and nice. We will definitely be back.

Lawrence C.

Yelp
Came for late lunch after touring in the morning. Fortunately, this business does not shut down in the afternoon. It was not difficult to get a table and the staff was pleasant. I felt the beer selection was very good and fresh. We decided to get the fairly standard basic tourist type selections and these were good. Do not expect super flavorful or unusual flavors, but it is very good for a nice afternoon meal.

Heidi H.

Yelp
Great place to stop in and grab a drink or sit down and eat a good size meal. They open early in comparison to other restaurants. We ordered the ox tail and seafood paella and it was incredible. The ox tail was cooked perfectly and served with smashed potatoes. The seafood paella was outstanding with a good amount of seafood (muscles, shrimp, calamari and crawfish). Customer service was great and ambiance was nice. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a quick bite.

Yelp
If you want a great selection of worldly beers, this little corner bar is perfect. Close to the action but the feel of a small dive bar. Cheers!
google avatar

Kirsy R.

Yelp
Worst staff we've met in Madrid. We walked in weren't welcomed and had to ask if we could sit and eat. The girl behind the counter was texting on the phone while we were asking for help and then continued to not acknowledge us. Eventually after not being helped, we got up and left. Food could have probably been the best in the country, but service is everything. We might have visited on a wrong day but the service was so terrible that it's probably why the place was empty..
google avatar

Yelp
Great easy going people with very pleasant owner and staff. They are gracious and generous. A good selection of beers and tapas.
google avatar

Sylvia T.

Yelp
Oh spain ....tons of beers .....paella was delicious....i wish i was there now..great little hole in the wall
google avatar

Jeff F.

Yelp
Beer! ¡Mas cerveza! Tons of quality international craft beers. Draft & bottled. Spanish, Belgian, English, German, Dutch, Czech, Irish, Mexican. And if you're a gringo and just can't stand another moment without your Budweiser, American. Also Brooklyn Brewery & Anchor Steam (SF). Small tapas menu. TV showing top matches. Bar stool & table seating. Right off main drag Calle Mayor.
google avatar

Anthony R.

Yelp
We stopped in here for a quick bite and a beer when visiting the Palace and had a good meal. Very friendly staff, best beer selection that we saw while in Madrid and good menu. Kid friendly and I would recommend if you are looking for lunch or a quick bite near the sites there.
google avatar

Joe P.

Yelp
Awesome, authentic, friendly! La Mayor served up amazing beer and food in a quaint setting. Grab the window seat on the right, and enjoy the beautiful views of Monumento a Victoria Eugenia y Alfonso XIII and looking down Calle Mayor towards the palace.
google avatar

Rob P.

Yelp
Wonderful little bar with good food offerings and a huge beer menu! We enjoyed the jamon and machengo cheese plate. It was great, along with jamon and cheese with olive oil and tomato baked! Definitely recommend this place if you're near the royal palace.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Great food, great atmosphere and great beer selection - came across this place at random and super glad we went in!

Emervin P.

Yelp
Great food! Great atmosphere! Great beers and sangria! We had the mixed seafood/chicken paella and oxtail stew with mashed potato. They're both delicious.

Lon C.

Yelp
Good location near the Palacio and other tourist attractions. We stopped in after touring the attractions so were a little tired and thirsty. La Mayor has a great selection of beers and drinks. The food was very good. Had the tripe as an appetizer as we wanted to try this Madrid specialty. The tripe was tender and flavor was good, though the Morrison could have had more meat. Had the paella for the main and it was good, but probably not the specialty here. Nothing really to complain about, just have had better elsewhere. Overall, a good stop during our trip to Madrid.

Anthony G.

Yelp
This well located pub, serves amazing beer and incredibly tasty food. I enjoyed the pig cheeks and chocolate sauce, A tasty brew, and they're incredibly attentive service, especially considering it's Spain.

Courtnee B.

Yelp
Paella was piping hot and filling. Flavors were on point. Also had the ribs and it was tender and the sauce was rich and just right.

christina o.

Yelp
Good food( I had their lunch special) and very kind host- very relaxed vibe! They also have a great selection of beer!

Chris B.

Yelp
I love belgium beer, they have all my favorites plus some great local food and incredible value for money. In the hot summer months it is a great refuge from the heat!!

Madison G.

Yelp
Fantastic beer selection. The service was great and so were the free tapas!! Nice authentic place and not a tourist trap.
google avatar

Eric A.

Yelp
Great stop for a quick bite and beer. Albondigas and lentils with chorizo were fantastic. Chimay on tap!

Karen M.

Yelp
Great beer selection. Good wines by the glass. Albondigas were very salty. Pinchos were decent .
google avatar

Wei F.

Yelp
Best of ox tail soup I had in Madrid. Waitress is very friendly and helpful. Many beer selections. Reasonable price.
