La Mezcaleria Paris

I love traveling so much because not only do you get out of your own space and see how different cultures approach life, but you get to meet the coolest people. My girlfriend and I found ourselves in this Mezcaleria on a speakeasy tour, engaged in conversation with a South African couple who had 25+ years of life experience on us and had just moved to the UK. Their sole purpose for moving was so that they could travel more. We talked about all of our travels and all the places we've been, but I found myself listening more than speaking. When I asked their favorite off-the-beaten-path destination, they would not stop raving about Tunisia. "Tunisia?!?" I said in disbelief. I'd never heard of anyone going to Tunisia. "It was absolutely magical" they responded in a strong South African accent and cadence. These are the exact moments I live for. Between sips of a stiff Mezcal Negroni, I asked every follow up question you could think of. "Whats the culture like? Is it a strong European Influence? How did you end up in Tunisia? What's Tunisian cuisine like? Was it a direct flight?" I entered the night not even knowing Tunisia was a country, and here I am weeks later trying to figure out how I can get the time off to go to Tunisia. This, to me, is what life is all about. A relaxed and hidden space with a large selection of mezcal and creative cocktails. Maison tomate was one of my favourites with well balanced notes. The service was good and attentive too. Would come back!

Wonderful tequila cocktails made with high quality tequila. So many creative spinoffs - visited several years ago, and loved it enough to come back. Menu has evolved since then to also include Asian flavors. Think teriyaki, milk punch, chipotle pepper, etc. (Not all in the same drink). Seemed less touristy and more of a local spot, at least when I visited. A little difficult to find - go through the hotel, and through the kitchen of the Incan restaurant.

The atmosphere is welcoming and the decor is its colorful and done well...the place has a vibe and if we would have had more time i would have gone back. The menu is very creative. I won't ruin it for those aspiring to go with all of the pages... The drinks were delicious. We got some nachos. The restaurants food at inka also looked really good. I definitely recommend making this a stop. Guaranteed good time.

The best cocktails by far. You gotta know the secret on where it is and how to get in to enjoy the libations. Highly recommend the roadlicker and the parsnipty .

I attended the brunch on a Sunday. It was a Latino food brunch, and I was charged 40 euros per person, which included soft drinks but not alcohol. The dining room is relatively small, and the buffet was set up in the patio outside the restaurant. The service was limited but satisfactory. The only downside was that we arrived during the last service, and the churros had run out. Overall, it was a good value for the price.

I’m a fan of speakeasies & La Mezcaleria and La Malicia ad my favorite speakeasies right in the same spot ! I like to surprise my friends or dates by bringing them here. The cocktail selection is top notch and the Mezcal selection is one of the hottest spots in Paris.

Excellent bar! It's kind of a speakeasy because it's tricky to enter. We order different cocktails and they were all good, we tried the monthly beer as well. Fast service, I will definitely recommend.

Weird fusion of Mexican and Japanese in their cocktails that are worth a try. The food is basic but of good quality. Worth it for the vibe.

A hidden speakeasy with a cozy and intimate atmosphere. We visited this spot on a cocktail tour and it was a great addition. There were 6 of us including the guide who got us in quickly. Definitely find yourself a speakeasy tour if it's hard to get in and see if they can do that navigation for you. Lots of great spirits beyond Mezcal as well. Worth a visit on the libation train.

Stopped in on a little self guided bar crawl. The vibe was very cool, we grabbed a spot at the bar and ordered drinks. We also wanted to get some chips and salsa, as we were feeling snacky, but the kitchen was already closed. Bummer. My husband and I each got mezcal margaritas. I was disappointed there was no salt on the rim, maybe that's something we needed to specify. The drink itself was well made and tasty. The mezcal was nice and smoky! The bartender was good at his craft, it was fun watching him put together the different creations as they were ordered. I could have stayed much longer but we wanted to continue our evening onward.

4-1/2 stars. A speakeasy located behind the kitchen of a hotel, I must've spent at least 15 minutes looking for the entrance to la Mezcaleria (and looking like an idiot while doing so). All the same, I found the place and got a drink made with mezcal, which the speakeasy is known for. It was the first time I ordered a cocktail that was on fire, and it was certainly a new, fun experience for me! Service was friendly, and I enjoyed reading its hipster zine while having my cocktail. For those interested in checking out speakeasies in Paris, this one's a must!

One of my favorite bars in Paris. I'll go back every time I visit...probably multiple times. Drinks are wonderful and creative and the experience of being there, getting to know the bartenders, who are all so knowledgeable about the bazillion mezcals they serve, is so awesome. Decor is cool too.

As an avid Mezcal fan I couldn't wait to check this place out. The drinks and staff certainly didn't disappoint; I was impressed by their selection of mezcal and other Oaxacan inspired beverages and desserts as well as by the bartender's patience in pandering to a non-French speaker. I had the Lulupo Banana and It was as simple and spirit forward as I had hoped; with very very subtle banana and chocolate notes which perfectly accentuated the liquor in its finest form. My only disappointment were the tacos but perhaps that is unfair because I'm from Texas which has arguably one of the best places for Mexican food outside of Mexico (second only to CA and perhaps AZ). I enjoyed the laid back vibe although the music was on the louder side; this lady would sure return!

Supper cool hidden bar in Paris. Music and vibe was incredible (I wish I had the play list!). Highly recommend. Will go back in a few months when we are back.

While searching for good bars in Paris to visit, La Mezcaleria kept popping up on my radar so we decided to give this spot a visit for a few drinks. Unfortunately, it was our last night in Paris and also a rainy Wednesday night which is not a particular party night anywhere lol. This bar is a speakeasy in the back of a boutique hotel and you actually have to walk through the kitchen of the hotel restaurant in order to access it. Once inside the vibe and decor is soft and dark but very well decorated with contemporary pieces. The lounge area had quite a few people for a Wednesday night. So right off the bat what caught my attention was that they were playing trap music from the US(yes!!) which was surprisingly unexpected but welcome. Didnt hear much hiphop anywhere in Paris unfortunately. So Mezcaleria is a bar thats menu consist of skillfully crafted drinks that all have a Mezcal base. I learned on the first drink that I was not a huge fan of the smoky flavor of Mezcal. After getting schooled to a little Mezcal knowledge by our friendly bartender he could see that I was not enjoying my drink. He asked me what was my favorite drink and when I answered an old fashioned he instantly began to Craft one which was on Par with any of the best Old fashioneds Ive had anywhere else,which aren't easy to find. We got to chat with the manager for a bit who was very friendly and awesome and bought us a few shots. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Paris. Probably even better there on the weekends. The friendliness and great service by the manager and bartenders made our visit exceptional especially since Parisians always get a bad rap from Americans.

If you're American, good luck lol. They won't give you the time of day. We were told to wait in the lobby and someone would grab us to be seated. You don't even wait in the lobby for this restaurant. Piss poor.
