We had lunch here 24/06. We tried many popular items and all of them was amazing. Aaron was patient and talkative, he offered to help take group photos of us and did it well! He left us a happy memory there. Angie was also enthusiastic and helped a lot. Feel free to try here! U won't regret it!

We had a fantastic dining experience last night at this gem of a Spanish restaurant in Madrid. The evening started with a delicious Barata salad and an outstanding squid dish—both fresh and full of flavor. For our main course, we shared a perfectly grilled pork dish served with potatoes and peppers—simple, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. We also enjoyed their signature custard dessert, which was the perfect sweet finish. The white wine we shared paired beautifully with the meal. Special thanks to our waiter, Aaron, whose attentive and friendly service made the night even more memorable. Highly recommended!

Google
This place was very nice, felt like old world eating. The atmosphere was perfect whether outside, in the ham cellar elsewhere, the team here did not leave the atmosphere to chance. I had the ham appetizer and the beef entrecôte and boy were perfect. The beef was cooked to perfection and seasoned correctly (which is something I can’t find often) the bread was crusty and soft on the inside with a great fresh flavor. Overall the experience was perfect.

Google
We had two wonderful meals at La mi venta in three days. The first night we dined in the cellar and ordered tomato salad, Iberico ham and grilled squid. It was all terrific and went well with some crisp white wine. We loved it so much that we reserved again for the terrace on a second night, luckily, as it was the day of the blackout and getting dinner anywhere was difficult. They had a limited menu, understandably, but It was a beautiful night and we loved the grilled vegetables , grilled entrecôte and red wine. The Torrija dessert with toffee is amazing. Both nights our server was Angie and she was superb and very kind. Highly recommend.

Google
Food was incredible! Definitely recommend a reservation as it can get pretty popular at night for dinner. Highly recommend the T-bone steak and the Hake! Even had a small complimentary dessert drink at the end which was much appreciated. Our server Angie was great!

Google
Everyone was so nice and we got 4 free shots! The food was soooo good. We got the traditional tapas and the burrata and cherry tomato salad. The sangria was phenomenal and I could have drank 10 of them. Their olive oil for the bread was so good and fresh tasting. We walked there so I am not sure about parking. It is very close to the palace and felt very safe. We sat outdoors and the temperature was very lovely for late June.

Google
Went for dinner on a whim with my father. Best meal in Spain. The service was amazing, possibly the best we’ve ever had ever haha. Angie our waitress was amazing and really helped us with recommendations! So pleasant and welcoming. The food was second to none. Come hungry, because you’ll want to try everything on the menu. Super impressed and if we are ever back in Madrid we will make a mad dash to this restaurant first thing. Thank you to Angie and the staff!

Google
The food was delicious, we ordered the iberico pork and the squid and they were both so flavourful and well cooked! George was very attentive/friendly and helpful and made the experience more enjoyable! Would definitely recommend, be sure to go early or book a table during the weekend.

Yelp
Amazing food, drinks, and customer service. We are English speaking as well. The best experience in Madrid for a little late lunch.

Yelp
Yum. Tasty food. Great service. It's a bit out of the way, not in city center, but worth a visit for Iberian ham. Menu is in English but you need to scan the QR code and access it online. They have free Wifi. I didn't get to experience the inside brick cellar as the weather was lovely during the afternoon. We sat outside with many visits from some bees, but it was under the shade. I highly recommend starting the meal with tinto de verano €4.60! This is better (sweeter) than the sangria. The tomate salad €11.9 that we ordered came out next, but it took a while before the next dish was served. I got the carne dish €54.5 to share. They brought out the raw cut to show us before they cooked it. We asked for medium rare but when it came out, most of it was red and fleshy. Perhaps a normal medium would have been better. The jamon plate €27.5 was good. It's apparently from acorn-fed pigs. Since we were in Madrid, we decided to also try their special iberico dish €22.9, which was also acorn-fed. It was three small pieces served with potatoes, but it was so tasty. When I got the bill, I saw they charged us €1.75 per person for pan (bread). I think they were distracting us with the olive oil presentation, but oh well, it tasted good.

Yelp
Incredibly friendly, attentive and informative service. We ate downstairs in "cave" which provided unique environment. The food was fresh and well-prepared. The wine was world class. Including dessert, the bill was just under €100.

Yelp
We loved this place! It's right next to the big monuments so the location is perfect. We arrived at the busiest time, but no problem the bartender was nice and quickly served drinks and olives. The food is very good. Big portions comparing to other locations. But enough to get full is enjoy. The atmosphere inside is nice and staff friendly and welcoming. Great quality and experience for the money. We would go back next time in area.

Yelp
I arrived solo about 9:30 which is the heart of dinner time. They were very accommodating even though I didn't have a reservation . Everyone seemed to speak English well. Started with the goat cheese chupa chups. Delightful. Then for the main Beef Entrecote Grilled with Natural Charcoal. Just amazing. Topped it off with the Tempered White Chocolate Brownie and Vanilla Ice Cream. Also enjoyed a sangria, which was a plentiful portion. The server Fernando super nice and patient even though I was a table of one. I would go there every night if I could
google avatar

Yelp
Truly an excellent establishment, in this restaurant right across from the palace expect to be treated like family, and the prices are excellent. We had steak that was delicious, octopus that was tender and cheap beer and wine. Next time I am in Madrid I will go back
google avatar

Yelp
I recently had dinner at La Mi Venta and I loved it! The area downstairs is super cool and the service couldn't be nicer. I loved the Tuna Tartar and the Pork dish - to die for! Couldn't recommend this spot more.
google avatar

Andreas K.

Yelp
Gem near everything but off the main tourist routes. Reservation was necessary as it was fully packed. The table outside provided a wonderful ambiance with a bit more air to breathe. The staff was very friendly and somehow we were able to communicate. The food was outstanding. PS: Nice to have a QR code not only for the menus but also the WiFi)
google avatar

Lauren W.

Yelp
The food was excellent. I had the black pudding for appetizer and the Hake fish for dinner. The white wine was delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The space itself was comfortable and the decor, historic and chic.

Henry M.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my mother's birthday abroad. Fernando and his entire team was super helpful and warm from start to finish. Food was delicious and the ambiance even better. Thanks again for the hospitality and we will be back the next time we are in Madrid! These guys do hospitality the right way!!!

Sophie M.

Yelp
Such great food! Great atmosphere and super friendly service. Definitely come here for some good steak!

Yelp
Great service, liked the rustic ambience and the food was spot on. I would recommend to anyone visiting Madrid.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant close to the palace and Plaza de Espana. Come as a partty so you can order some of the larger peices of meat and paella, which serve more than one. Our server had serveral excellent recommendations, starting with the Iberian ham wiht tomatoes. A nice red wine accompanied the meal. Reservations aren't a bad idea and you may have a limited time (not rushed) before another party has your table reserved.

Wayne Y.

Yelp
Fast, friendly and efficient. Amazing amount of choices for a small operation. Central location and very helpful. The staff was quick and friendly.

Yelp
Reseñas en español y ingles: La Mi Venta is across the street from the National Palace (Palacio Real de Madrid), so it's near a very popular area of the city. We arrived at 7:30pm, exactly when it opened for dinner. We did not have a reservation. However, they have a small dining room in the back (four tables) and were able to seat us immediately. We eventually came to realize that this was the room where they sat all the Americans. The staff were friendly and helpful. Upon being seated, we were provided a basket of baked bread loaves and some olive oil for dipping. The olive oil was very high quality. We also ordered a house white wine and house red wine. Both were good to drink with a meal. They have a large selection and variety of dishes on their menu including many tapas options, full dinner options, and even many vegetarian options. Our favorite dish was the chupa chups (fried goat cheese balls served on top of a sweet tomato marmalade). We also ordered the tempura fried cod. It was served on top of mashed potatoes and topped with tempura fried asparagus. The cod was nice, but overly salted. Finally, we ordered the seafood paella. It was good, but not great. We found it to be average in taste. However it did have a lot of seafood in it, including four very large prawns. The server did communicate to us that they're known for their meat dishes, not their seafood, so we were not surprised when the seafood dishes were only ok. Overall, we had a nice dinner. La Mi Venta está al otro lado de la calle del Palacio Nacional (Palacio Real de Madrid), por lo que está cerca de una zona muy popular de la ciudad. Llegamos a las 7:30 pm, exactamente cuando abría para la cena. No teníamos reserva.

Yelp
I love everything about this place! I was visiting Madrid and decided to come here since a friend recommended it. The first night I went, my friend and I ordered the Cod Loin in Tempura, Foie Gras Ravioli in Chicken Broth and Cream, the Tapas La Mi Venta Combination Plate. We wanted to order the paella, but since we got there around 10pm, we didn't want to wait 35 min for it to be made. The Sangria was the best I've ever tasted!! It was sparkly, not too strong, or too sweet. It was absolutely refreshing. The food came one by one and wow, amazing. Our server, George, was telling us recommendations on where to go out for nightlife, and it was a pleasure chatting with him! We even got free little alcoholic shots after our meal. We loved this place so much that we decided to go a second time and finally try the paella. Best paella of my life! They presented it to us and then plated it for our table. What an experience! The calamari was delicious as well, not too oily or salty and came with delicious sauce. Another free shot right after!!

Yelp
My wife and I stumble onto this restaurant after we saw a Reddit post recommending it. It was honestly one of the highlights of our trip to Madrid. The food was fantastic, the drinks were fantastic, the ambiance and the service were amazing. They have a menus in Spanish, English, French, and Italian and we had no problems ordering in English.
google avatar

Sohail N.

Yelp
The most delicious food I have had in Madrid. Ambiance is perfect. The food, the wine, the olive oil, the deserts, I can go on and on, Dont miss it.
google avatar

Marisol B.

Yelp
This is by far one of if not the best meal in Madrid. Wow the service was top notch. The goat cheese croquettes were so good we kept ordering them. In fact the tapas were so good we kept ordering them and then dessert. The gin and tonic sorbet was a grand slam amazing. The ambiance was neat. We were in the cellar which was extra cool. The grilled vegetables were great. The apple strudel dessert was soooooo delish.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was recommended by our hotel receptionist. We totally missed it when trying to walk there as it looks very simple. There are a bunch of tables for outdoor seating. We came early and we're able to be seated right away, with a 2 hour limit. Our server was really nice and so efficient. We realized that the servers monitor where we are with eating each dish so they can bring the next dish out at appropriate intervals. This was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. We ordered way more than we needed to and didn't regret overeating as every dish was delicious. The whole squid and calamari dishes melt in your mouth and were the best we had in Spain. The Iberian ham was also amazing and I noticed that it tasted a little different in every place. The only dish I didn't love was the salad but I'm not really a salad person and I don't like slightly bitter greens. If I ever come back to Madrid, I will definitely go back to this lovely little restaurant.

Yelp
Was able to accommodate our group of 10 outside in a beautiful setting. Food was delicious. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend their sangria, squid, goat cheese bites and chorizo!
google avatar

Yelp
We came here for the paella and were disappointed. The flavors were fine and the seafood was plentiful. However, the rice was undercooked and hard... not crunchy but hard. It made the experience much less enjoyable. We had some other dishes all of which were good. We had no reservations but they sat us and just asked that we were done by a certain time. The server was very nice and attentive, and his English was fine. Overall, the experience was good but the paella was a miss.

Ortiz M.

Yelp
As if the food was not good enough, the service is impeccable. Explanation of dishes and recommendations spot on. Forgot the name of our waiter but he is from Malaga and could not have been nicer.
google avatar

Yelp
Great location, next to Palacio Real. You can eat outside or indoors. Fantastic customer service from the moment you walk in The food is so good: flavors, seasoning, freshness. We had soup, tapas and paella. The sangria was the best we tasted in all Madrid. They being a small basket with fresh baked bread! Oh the flavors! Dip it in a special olive oil and voila! Great taste! Our waitress was kind, caring and ready to suggest, recommend and was happy to chat with us about different things. A very pleasant experience. I'll definitely go back to this place.

Esther P.

Yelp
I visited La Mi Venta with my family and we had a great experience! We arrived a little before our reservation but were seated right away in the downstairs area, which had a cool cave-like vibe (very welcome as it was a super hot day). Our server Luis was so kind and served us so well - he gave us the best and most honest recommendations, including a wine recommendation (that wasn't the most expensive wine on the menu) and suggestions for how much food was appropriate for our group of 5. Our favorite dishes were the classic Jamon, croquettes, tomatoes, and Padron peppers, and the complimentary olive oil and bread that was provided in the beginning - everything was delicious! Highly recommend!

Cristina O.

Yelp
This was our first meal in Spain and it didn't disappoint. We had the paella which had a good amount of seafood and was very tasty. I wish they had provided us with more olive oil for the bread, but other than that it was a delicious meal. I would return.

Megan W.

Yelp
We are from California and had a one night layover in Madrid. Our hotel was about a 5 minute walk to La Mi Venta. Upon getting there, the whole staff was extremely friendly. You can either sit on their outside patio, or downstairs in this beautiful cellar. Not even kidding, my fiancé and I said this meal was one of the best we've ever had. We got the Iberian Ham and Encote Steak. To drink we had the Sangria and a Mojito and both were absolutely fantastic as well. We rated both a 9.5/10 absolutely amazing! If you are in Madrid, staying near the downtown area, or not, I reccommend going here!!
google avatar

Catrina C.

Yelp
Reserve a table here! You will not be disappointed. They were beyond accommodating and greeted us with 2 delicious cups of broth. Which was so nice because it was freezing outside. Our server was very sweet and took time to answer questions without rushing us. Come hungry because the servings are a good size. The food was amazing and can tell that it is very fresh. We would definitely return here whenever we make our way back to Madrid.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious seafood paella and refreshing sangriaI usually don't like sangria, way too sweet in my palate but we trusted our waiter and tried it. Oh my gosh, he wasn't mistaken we ordered 2 pitchers of Sangria we ordered the Seafood paella it took 40minutes to cook while waiting we ordered 3 kind of cheeses with our drinks, awesome choice! Let's took about paella, speechless and ate it all I made my own with seafood compared to there it was as good as mine, lol Aitor was our waiter he was attentive, great service, knows his food and explained it well, always ready to help and you could tell he loved his job. Well done Aitor he is good representer to La Mi Venta restaurant

Yelp
Great find in Madrid for some authentic, local, delicious cuisine. Nice wine and Al fresco dining after lots of walking around the sights. The restaurant is rather tucked away in a neighborhood so not touristy at all!
google avatar

Yelp
On our first full day in Madrid, we ate dinner at La Mi Venta, a meat-oriented restaurant near to the royal palace. The restaurant is at the end of a quiet street with attractive outdoor tables where we sat. The menu is broad, with a focus on high quality beef and pork, including several great pork dishes. Service was helpful, friendly and prompt, despite the fact that we were sitting outside the core of the restaurant on the quiet sidewalk. The food was great. I had the Salmorejo (cold soup) that was delicious, and a pork steak that was unlike any Pork I had ever had. So delicious. All of us enjoyed our food. We had our young son with us and the staff did a great job of accomodating him and his needs too. Overall, a really great meal and I would strongly recommend this restaurant.

Philip O.

Yelp
A fantastic experience with the outside view of the Palace. The food was fantastic 2 salads Tapas and Paella with a steak. The 2 desserts were exceptional Puden de pan and Apple strudel. Jose our server was precise with his serving and friendly. So in closing a sunset meal at LA Mi Venta is well worth it.
google avatar

Mojave D.

Yelp
Delicious food and amazing service!! We had steak, tuna tartare, veggie stew with Sangria - everything was delicious. Then we finished the meal with apple strudel and a dish of jamon! Perfect! Our waiter could have been more friendly or funny! Gave him a good tip! Sitting outside on a gorgeous night after walking all day was a lovely close!

Home Deko J.

Yelp
Outstanding dinner! Delicious food and friendly staff. We had the best time in this local gem.
google avatar

Lior R.

Yelp
This restaurant was an amazing dining experience. We were led into the bottom floor where the ham used to be dried and aged. You could see the hooks on the ceiling. It was really cool to be in that same room. We started with the salmorejo soup - a tomato cream soup with boiled egg and minced ham. We then went to the goat cheese chupa chups. They were these deep fried goat cheese balls that were placed over a homemade tomato marmalade. Very very delicious for the goat cheese lovers (like me :) ). We then tried the foie gras with mushroom and apple. This was the best starter. If you like a pâté type of dish, this is a must. DELICIOUS. Then for the main course I got the Iberian cut grilled with charcoal. They give you too very juicy cuts and one crunchy cut. This was an amazing dish.

Aki T.

Yelp
We had a wonderful lunch time there on 21st July 2022. This restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and all the people were very friendly. We ordered calamari, beefsteak, spicy sausage and scollop salad. Each dish was fantastic. Calamari was very crispy outside but juicy inside; sausage was spicy enough with good flavor, the salad was so colorful with lots of green inside, the scollop cooked just perfect! And the beef! Medium well done with great Seasoning, which were black pepper and salt only but so Juicy and tender! The bread starter with olive oil was excellent too. Very fresh olive oil you even can smell the tree green! We will definitely go again if we have a chance.

Cameron L.

Yelp
We had a phenomenal first dinner in Madrid at La Mi Venta. The olive oil that was served with the bread was the best we have ever had, truly delicious. Our waitress, Angie, recommended an outstanding bottle of 'Vino Tinto' (red wine). She heard that we were conversing in English while one person in our party was translating back her in Spanish and she took it upon herself to speak to us in English. This was quite nice considering the menu was "foreign" to us (pun intended).
google avatar

Eugenia D.

Yelp
Great dinner! I was afraid this would be a tourist trap but it wasn't. Food and service were top notch. There were tourists around but also locals. We were greeted with a courtesy jamon soup. Delicious and warm! We then ordered a tabla de ibericos, migas and huevos rotos. All excellent. We then shared the burger. All wonderful! The bread was delicious, btw. Our server was very personable. I recall he is Cuban but forgot his name. We will be recommending this place!

Chip R.

Yelp
We were in Madrid for 9 days and went to La Mi Venta 3 times and every meal didn't disappoint. Vicent, Vicktor and Jon were all excellent servers. We tried something different each time and were impressed with the flavors of all the dishes. This is a family owned restaurant founded in 1962. The four sons are doing an incredible job continuing the family tradition of great food, attentive service by all the staff and overall incredible dining experience. We are looking forward to returning to Madrid so we can enjoy this amazing restaurant. Chip

Susanna M.

Yelp
I went here a couple weeks ago on my trip to Spain. The food was delicious and the service was good. Remember that it can be slower in Spain than the USA because the culture is different when it comes to dining. The staff was able to communicate with us well since I spoke minimal Spanish but they were also able to speak English. I would recommend going but don't get the Chorizo from hell, it's not worth the money since it's just Chorizo with like Tabasco on it. It's not spicy and I'd honestly prefer to just eat chorizo.
google avatar

Diane H.

Yelp
We arrived without a reservation. They provided a table outside which it was great. I recommend to make a reservation. The service and food was amazing. I enjoyed the service of our server. If I come back to Madrid for sure I will visit again.

Kerri C.

Yelp
The food here was amazing and the service was top-notch. Our server was so attentive and friendly. I regret not getting her name. It was the best meal we have had in Madrid so far. We started with the goat cheese chupa chups, ham croquettes, and calamari. Our entrees were the hake and cod loin. Fantastico! We will go back before we leave Madrid!
google avatar

Rebecca T.

Yelp
One of the best Spanish foods I've ever had while in Madrid...and with good service, too! Definitely helps to make reservations beforehand, since the place is literally a tavern and only hold up to a maximum of 70 persons inside. I highly recommend you get the calamares (grilled squid), huevos rotos ("broken eggs" with potatoes and ham), and the callos a la madrileña (beef tripe with sausages). Super rich, super tasty. The olive oil that came with the bread was fantastic: super fruity and intense; it was like nothing I'd ever tasted before! Apparently, it won some awards and I'm not surprised... Overall, impeccable food and professional service. Perfect for either a date night or a quiet night out with friends and family. ¡Muchas gracias!
google avatar

Ashley Q.

Yelp
Came here after seeing the quaint restaurant on the walk to the temple of debod. The staff was very friendly and we were seated outside on the quiet street. The bread was the best I had on my trip and paired well with the olives. We ordered the steak (recommended by our server) which my boyfriend described as "the best steak he's ever had". I got the squid which was grilled to perfection and was dressed with a delicious sauce. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Madrid who wants a nice classy meal. My only regret is we didn't order more!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent If you're looking for a good restaurant, something else that the tourists trap try this original menu, traditional dishes or original ones
google avatar

Nicole F.

Yelp
So lovely! First things first, it's very small so I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation. They don't open until 8 so if you don't have a reservation, try calling earlier and they might accommodate you. We didn't have one because we originally planned to go a different night and had to switch but they were full. We showed up at 7:45 and they gave us a high top table in the back. It was perfect. The staff was very friendly, very on top of everything, and very helpful in recommending dishes and explaining anything you're unsure of. I asked for the house red wine and it was delicious!! Better than some of the expensive glasses I've had. The food was really good too. One thing to note, if you like your meat cooked medium, order it medium well because they have a different idea of medium. The burger came close to rare. But they took it back and cooked it looked and it was fine. Really cute place, and was very enjoyable.

Yelp
Food: 3.5/5.0 Service: 4.0/5.0 Value: 3.5/5.0 Decor: 3.5/5.0 Overall: 4.0/5.0 La Mi Venta is a very solid spot. Located just across Bailen from the Sabatini Gardens, this is an unpretentious English-friendly restaurant with great genuine service and genuinely very tasty food (basically no issues aside from an overcooked entrecote out of many dishes tried). Best yet, this spot offers surprisingly good value for money considering location and the quality of the product being served. It's not the 'best food in town', but it really is good all around and offers a great sit-down lunch option in the Royal Palace area.

Lis K.

Yelp
Didn't even order steak but the Sangria, iced, citrus laden is my favorite Sangria ever. Bread both crusty and soft = divine. We ordered the tapas platter cured meat, the goat cheese salad, and the truffle burger. O M G Delicioso. Me encanta. Esta Americana? Yo hablo espanol para la comida aqui. Lol

Yelp
Went in the evening, no booking . Outdoor tables filled up. Waited a little , go a table in side. Grille vegi and pepper very tasty. T bone very nice. Taste very good but a little hard to chew. Knife provided no Sharp at all. So that doesn't help. Ordered beer with t Bone. All-in all 5 star. Please book ahead of time. So you can dine out.
