Île d'Orléans, The Québec Island That's a Food-Lover’s Dream - AFAR
"La Boulange bakery and café churns out excellent stuffed pastries like sweet brioches and chocolate croissants, as well as picnic-ready pizzas and breads." - Vanita Salisbury
A beautiful cafe tucked away at the other side of the island, that we discovered on our road trip. The owners are warm and friendly and the food is literally heaven.
Would definitely go back for the food, the folks and the ambience whenever I'm in Quebec the next time.

Best latte on our trip so far! The workers were wonderful and patient and then walking over to the water was just the thing to complete the experience!

A total gem found on Ile-d Orleanss at La Midinette! A small bakery- light fare spot across from the St Laurence river-
Friendly staff helped with our language barrier- we had a scrumptious jalapeño scone (I don’t even like “dry” scones- this one was amazing!)
A yummy spinach quiche served with a salad lightly dressed in some amazing dressing- a bowl of butternut soup tasted like velvet- my husband and I shared all this and we perfectly satiated!
Totally worth the stop!!

Ideal stop for any coffee beverages and pastries. Super friendly service and lovely patio with views of the St Lawrence River, Church of Saint Jean and adjoining cemetery. I also recommend taking a stroll just across the road to check out the rock layering along the beach.

Long wait but worth it. The pizza is delicious and so are all the rest of the daily fresh baked goods.
Pro tip. You can reserve loaves of bread in case you can't get there before supply runs out.
Currently take out only but you can sit outside as there are a few tables on their patio and a bunch of picnic tables on the field adjacent to the building.

A good place to rest and eat after visiting the church. There are restrooms too so it's really a good break by stopping here. They makes fresh breads and cake and you can buy cool drinks or soda. There are tables and chairs inside and outside so you can picnic

Yelp
Delicious pastries and good coffee. They sell out as the day goes on, so make sure to come early!

Yelp
This place is very small and was fairly busy when we went. It was raining so outdoor seating wasn't much of an option so if you go when it's raining be prepared to wait for a table.
I ordered the focaccia sandwich and was pretty good! I didn't have much of an expectation but it was satisfactory.
The pizza was quite cheesy and lighter on the sauce but I'd definitely try another pizza here. The crust was crispy and light.
Sandwich 7.5/10
Pizza 8.5/10
Danish 9/10
This is a cool little spot and visiting the island was a nice drive. There were tons of little shops you could stop at on the way so it's definitely recommended to go on a good weather day to get the full experience

Yelp
Freshest salad ever!!!
The tuna was perfect.
Chicken wings, good ( not greasy) very small serving.
Pastries.. chocolate Croissant to die for!
Got scones for the road!
Very busy restaurant with plenty of siting options,
Inside and on porch.
Overall, food is fresh and delicious!

Yelp
Delicious pea and mint soup and pasteries. You order as you enter the building and carry your items to table of your choice. Disposable utensils; no heat; Decorations and tables are rustic - and outdoor tables had aroma of dairy farm up the hill.
Good stop if you are in the area. And great place to pick up some bread to go.

Yelp
Bakery, local wines ($45+). Almond croissants good, Paillard better. Fingers crossed the baguette is better than Boulangerie Blouin, whose baguette is a big, fluffy loaf, not at all chewy!

Yelp
Delicious! It's a very cute little house, and a beautiful area. There's not much seating inside is the only issue.

Yelp
This is the most charming place with the most delicious food and pastries! The staff is friendly and understated. They are organized efficiently and the space is well planed. It is an old building, eclectically restored and decorated. We stopped on a whim and ended up making it our lunch break while touring the island. Ok, lunch was pommes de tere with parmigiana and herbs, a ham and cheese croissant and shared bites of too many delicious pastries to list. My favorite was the almond and apricot that melted in my fingers and mouth. So good I went back for another for breakfast tomorrow! Hope this review helps you actually plan to stop here. Yum! Yum! Yum!
