In this context the 17th-century mint building that houses La Monnaie Art & Spa Hotel is rather on the new side, but its exteriors still contrast vividly with its ultra-modern interiors, done up in vibrant colors and contemporary design furniture. The art collection, as promised by the name, is an impressive one, and the spa, though smallish, is more than up to the task. The opera Palace in Brussels, but not the only one. Looking classic and old in style but look carefully the details 😉 good acoustics and overpriced tickets for a season that needs to catch up if wants to be at top level in Europe.

VERY small theater. I was on balcony at 5th floor. You can see the scene from there. But if you came in a dress be ready when the comer sitting in front of you turns around , his/her nose will be between your knees. Seats are small and narrow for people over L size. Black square at photo is the curtain.

Every first saturday of the month you can go for a visit behind the scene of this opera house that has a real stubborn but eye opening vision on how to bring opera on stage. The visit takes almost two hours and is really worth while the effort.
