Decided to celebrate my 50th birthday here because of all the memories of when I first lived in the neighbourhood, because it was easy to have a gluten and lactose free menu AND it was close to the office. Always liked the place but the staff really went out of their way to make it a great party! (Including adding a last minute vegeteraian dish for my niece 😍) Highly recommend it if you are looking for authentic Mexican taste, good margaritas, and a jovial atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed themselves! Thank you 😊🥳

Google
Summary: Meh. I’ve been to this place before and remember it was so much better. Last time I went there the quality of the food was not so great, in the sense that none of the dishes had any distinct flavor. Also, in our case the dishes came a little cold(ish), so it wasn’t pleasant. The strawberry margarita I ordered tasted more like ice than anything. It was ok to have lunch there during the week but I wouldn’t go back purposefully.

Apart from the food , the flavors and the hospitality with a real Mexican touch , our host dylan was a force to be reckoned with. He suggested us the best dishes , beverages and pairings. Do ask for him when your there !

Google
Its what you expect from la mordida. Good service, but there is better mecican food in other places. But it's a good fun place for cocktails and nachos

Google
Truly an amazing experience! The restaurant has such cool vibes in the inside, the menu design is very beautiful and fun. They offer a big number amount of selection, from food to drinks. The food is absolutely delicious!

Google
The food it's really good and the ambiance it's very laid back and cheerful, just like in Mexico. The service was a bit slow and they did forget to bring my sister her drink. The portions could be shared, but only if you have an entree and a dessert.

😋😎👍TOP MEXICAN IN MADRID!!! REAL FRESH & TOP QUALITY. By far the best MEXICAN restaurant in Madrid. The staff is relaxed and accommadating and the value for money is absolutely correct. WE ARE COME BACK. Its not a joke 😉👍👍👍👍😋😋😋

Google
Eh. The food does not match the decor. On the inside, this place is gorgeous. We were the only ones here at the time but the service was very slow. The food wasn't very hot and the pork was DRY. Everything else was just a meat slush. The queso fundido was pretty good. If you're into Michiladas, they did those very well.

Yelp
Looked online for a good Mexican restaurant similar to the ones in the US, after eating great Spanish food for days. Saw reviews and the menu in Yelp and took an Uber here. Party of four, ordered the green enchiladas, red enchiladas, Al Pastor tacos and the mixed meat fajitas. All of it turned out great, good size portions, beer was cold, margarita was good. Service was stellar and we would go back. Worth an Uber to have great Mexican food!

Yelp
So on my second to my last night of my Euro trip and it's my second time coming back to La Mordida. Maybe I'm homesick or maybe it feels familiar but the real reason is, it's the closest I'll get to authentic Mexican and after being without for a month I'm in desperate need of it. La Mordida served some really good margaritas, good music y buen ambiente. I ordered El Pastor and chorizo queso as well as sopa Azteca and there where all on point. You will also appreciate the restaurant inside. It is decorated with everything Mexico. If your in Madrid and you need a taste of home come to La Mordida.

Yelp
Legit Mexican food. Came in late night when we arrived in Madrid close to closing time. Had the conchinita pibil and chipotle chicken along with. Nachos with guacamole and cheese

Yelp
This place is great for any American who is missing the look, feel, and taste of the Mexican restaurants back home! Decorated with bright colors and ethnic decorations, it reminded me of the place I used to go in the states. What I ordered: I got the half portion of vegetable fajitas and a tinto de verano. The fajitas were the perfect size for dinner and came with 3 homemade salsas that were delicious! The tinto wasn't the best ever. The staff here is super nice! This is my favorite Mexican place in Madrid so far!

Yelp
You can take the girl out of LA, but you can't take the LA out of the girl. It's no wonder we started craving Mexican only after a couple of days in Madrid. Luckily, this city has some pretty decent places to get your taco fix on. Found this place via other Yelp reviews and were impressed. We satiated our cravings for mezcal and tacos in no time. The decor was cool and the huge mural of Mexican notables made me feel like I was back in one of my many favorite haunts back home. Order some tacos, mezcal margaritas, and take it all in. The fantastic owner even gave us several free shots at the end of our meal. Vale!

Yelp
It was bound to happen after a few days away from home - that craving for Mexican food - and it was Yelp to the rescue while exploring Chueca, steering us towards La Mordida de Belén. The interior is classic Mexican restaurant, with a really fun, colorful interior that gets you right in the mood for a margarita, and the margaritas here are both quite good and quite strong... you'll want more than one, so definitely get a pitcher or two for the table. We started with the nachos con guacamole, topped with queso fundido, frijoles refritos, and pico de gallo - a large appetizer that was quite tasty, having that little bit of saltiness that went quite well with the margaritas. For me, my late lunch (okay, normal-time lunch in Europe) was the chicken enchiladas verdes, three corn tortilla-rolled beauties covered with salsa, cheese, and red onion. Despite being thousands of miles away from Mexico, these enchiladas were surprisingly good - and don't forget to order them spicy, for that extra kick. One of our vegetarian friends who had flown in from Frankfurt to join us ordered the veggie fajitas and she absolutely loved them, saying that the could easily eat them every single day. The service here is great as well, so go on in, snag a window table so you can watch the passers-by on the narrow Calle de Belén, and spend a lazy afternoon catching up with friends over drinks and really good Mexican fare at La Mordida de Belén. ¡Buen provecho!

Yelp
Real good customer service. Was open till late and the green enchiladas were perfect!

Yelp
Loved this place soooo freaking much! Service was awesome. I'm pretty sure I had the best mojito ever here and cannot wait to go back lol. I arrived at 3:50 They were about to close at 4:30 and let me know. But they were timely with getting our order and food and I did not feel rushed. I had the mixed fajitas and they were good. I loved I didn't have to ask for more tortillas they gave me plenty!
google avatar

Yelp
Their sign said "100 percent Mexican" Restaurant and true to their word they were. Homemade tortillas in your green chicken enchiladas which was big enough to share. The nachos and cheese had large servings of guacamole and enough for 4 people. It's definitely a return again restaurant. Oh and the margaritas on the rocks delicious and potent.

Yelp
Had very high hopes coming in based on the reviews. Highly disappointed. Great staff and ambiance but food was worst Mexican food i have had in a while. Guacamole was cold and bland. Chips were made for someone on a low sodium diet. Queso fondida... Thats was somewhat edible. The salsa are NOT spicy at all

Yelp
In Madrid for Cinco De Mayo and thought it would be appropriate to have Mexican. The atmosphere and decorations are done very well and an "Aztec Mexican" style. Waiter staff was friendly and offered an English menu. Ordered nachos con guacamole for the starter. The guacamole was excellent but the nachos were store bought and just a step below Doritos. For the main, ordered fajitas pollo. The chicken meat was cooked well but twice as much peppers than chicken. Also, the flavor and spice of the fajitas was very bland. There was also no hot sauce to remedy this. The food was ok, the service was excellent. I would go back just not great for the price.

Yelp
I love la mordida so much. Eat here. Right now. Why are you still reading this review? GO EAT! The nachos, I dream about them. And the taco al pastor. This place is the best Mexican I've had since I've been in Europe (from west coast USA).

Yelp
Beautiful decoration and great food! Make sure to book a table because it's really popular.

Yelp
This restaurant was absolutely fabulous! My friend and I got there on the early side of dinner and when we arrived there was only one other group eating, so we were a bit worried how the food would taste. By the end of dinner, the restaurant was packed and they'd served us two shots each on the house. One of the best meals I've had in Madrid for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
Tacos al pastor con queso were good but not great. I felt like the meat wasn't cooked correctly because some were chewy and some were hard. The prices here are a little more expensive than surrounding Mexican restaurants. If the prices were a little lower I would give 5 stars but there are cheaper options around. 15 euros for as many tacos as you can make with the meat given - I had 5 (street) tacos.

Yelp
I'll start with the good. The competent waiter and the cute interior saved this review from being 0 stars if possible. Somewhere in Mexico, there are a group of people slowly seething with umbrage. We had a salad of nopalitos (canned), crushed tortilla chips with a terrible dressing on top, like a watered down Catalina. The only saving grace was the cherry tomatoes. The cochinita pibile no flavor whatsover. Also, who garnishes things with dried herbs? In addition, cochinita pibile is supposed to be redolent of garlic, heavy with achiote, some heat from different chiles. The cochinita pibile was redolent of NOTHING! NADA! Vegetable fajitas should be a cakewalk. They managed to mess this up. In this day and age of Youtube, there should not be bad food. Perhaps that might be too much to ask. Perhaps they should go visit a Jose Tejas somewhere to start. (Do they exist in Europe?) It's not like I'm expecting a Mexican restaurant to understand the nuances of the usage of different dried chiles, but there is an accepted international idea of what constitutes good Mexican food, and this was the total opposite.

Yelp
I am Mexican from California and have been looking for decent Mexican food in Madrid and this is the best I can find so far! I had the green enchiladas and they were very good... I couldn't finish the whole plate! The plate cost me in the 12€ range. Worth it if you're having that craving! This place is worth a try for anyone wanting good Mexican food.

Yelp
Delicious!!! True Mexican food that Americans will enjoy, but is still authentic. Some people are confused when they come to Spain and see the prevalence of Spanish food/tapas... (it's SPAIN!). This place does it all well.

Yelp
Yelp does it again. This place was hopping!! Mexican in Madrid!! Loved the margaritas, the nachos and the fajitas--all good. The atmosphere was bright and cheery and filled with Madridites. The servers were awesome and everyone in the place was happy to be there. It got packed by 10pm--of course being American, we were the first ones there.

Yelp
This restaurant was awesome. The food was extremely good and the server was really good. Didn't speak much English, but was super nice and had a really hearty laugh. The ambiance was also cool, with a relaxed and laid back atmosphere. Highly recommend this place to who enjoys Mexican food. (Got the chicken fajitas).

Yelp
This night I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend. For starters we had the nachos with guacamole and cheese. So much cheese! After that we had a meal called 'Pa ta pa mi' which consists of 6 little bowls with different fillings (chicken, Turkey, pork...) and 12 tortillas. It's a meal for two people and it's amazing! Although our waiter didn't speak English, he was amazing and we had a blast. We had two half litre beers, the nachos and the pa ta pa mi, which came down to a total of 45 euros. Great value for money!

Yelp
I loved it! There were three of us and we had a wonderful time eating and listening to music for our Saturday get-together. (Half the time we heard recorded hits from Mexico and the other half of the time a live acoustic guitar player with a voice that was incredible.) I got the chicken fajitas with a side bowl of mole sauce. The guacamole appetizer with chips was so delicious--topped with one of the three sauces brought to our table.

Yelp
If you are looking for some Mexican food while at Madrid you need to go here amazing drinks and food. I had such a great experience. I was in Spain for 3 weeks and a good amount of time while I was there I went to eat here and was never let down.

Yelp
I red a recommendation about this restaurant in Madrid's "guía de ocio", which I can only suggest you to check out for other restaurant recommendations. I have been to another La Mordida, but the team and the food at calle Belén I consider the best. The atmosphere is super authentic, and the food is extremely delicious. It happened that I have been there every day in a week. I can only suggest you to go there if you like mexican food. Ask the waiters for their recommendation, they know a lot of traditional dishes which are all really good! Take the nachos con guacamole! And the fajitas con pollo!

Yelp
After spending nearly a month in Spain, I was missing mexican food so much. I took my family to thi restaurant and we loved it! I had one of the most incredible tacos with marinated beef, cheese, and pineapple. Very interesting food combinations and friendly service! Loved the colorful atmosphere too

Nadia K.

Yelp
The food was amazing, and the atmosphere is fun and authentic. We originally came on a Saturday night, but left because it was too crowded and we didn't have a reservation. Monday afternoon worked out better for us and we were seated right away. The waiter was nice and helpful, and the service was quick!

Yelp
My vegetarian boyfriend and I ate dinner here one night on a recent trip to Madrid. The food was pretty good. We recommend ordering the nachos with guacamole-- it is enough for two people and could probably be your entire dinner unless you're starving. Cool place, good prices. They even have an English menu if you ask for it.

Yelp
Excellent tacos! Had a selection for 2 persons. All tasted very good. Funky interior. Recommended

Yelp
First time to Madrid from California, and this brings it home for me, great service and delicious! I'm here for two weeks and I'll probably be here every night for dinner until I leave.

Yelp
I'm starting this review based on the Margarita and Guacamole alone!
google avatar

Yelp
This was not only the best food of our entire trip, but possibly the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. As 2 vegetarians from California, we got tired of eating eggs, cheese, potatoes, and bread for breakfast, lunch and dinner so have been striking out and trying other cuisines. We got the vegetarian green enchiladas and the veggie fajitas. I want to come back for every meal for the rest of the trip!

Courtney L.

Yelp
Almost a 5 star. If your craving Mexican in Spain, this is your spot! Nachos were sooooo cheesy and perfect!

Michelle A.

Yelp
This is the best Mexican restaurant I have found in Madrid. Dario (our server) was amazing. The food is great and they give you big portions. The margaritas are also delicious.

Julis C.

Yelp
We eat massive amounts of Mexican being from Chicago and this just hit the spot being away from home. Very nice people. Great portions. Reasonable prices for this being a weird specialty In Madrid. Guacamole nachos to start were huge. Place was busy but still great service.

Yelp
We chose La Mordida for our last meal in Madrid, and it was quite good. The brightly colored dining room is cheerful and eclectically designed, the waitstaff is very kind, and everything we sampled was tasty, though sometimes different than what we expected. Take the shrimp tacos -- you get a huge platter of shrimp, avocado, and rice, and then a container of hot flour tortillas. For me, this was more like eating a fajita than eating a taco - but the shrimp was delicious, as were the piping hot tortillas (heed the waiter's warning-- he told us that they must be eaten hot!). The chicken fajitas were served much as the tacos, but with a side of retried beans, rice, and grilled peppers. All in all, La Mordida was a welcome surprise in a charming space space with attentive service. It isn't cheap for what it is -- our dinner came to 30E (two meals, two sparkling waters) -- but the food won't disappoint.
