La Mouette et les Dromadaires

There is a strong Mediterranean/North African influence (as the name hints), but it’s presented in a way that feels modern and elevated without being pretentious. Service is attentive yet discreet. The staff has a calm presence, and you get the sense that they genuinely care about your experience rather than just going through the motions. I loved it. We went for a late lunch at La Mouette with our baby and toddler whilst staying in Sidi Kouaki. The food was exceptional with the octopus carpaccio a particular highlight. They didn't have an alcohol licence when we visited but the non-alcoholic cocktails were so delicious it didn't matter. Definitely make the effort to go for lunch if in the region, it was one of the highlights of our trip.

The place was great The food was really good But the service was a DISASTER! More than 1 hour to get our main ! They came twice with our starters Then finally the fish came And again we had to wait for 20 minutes for the fries That’s true that many customers were there today for lunch but please make sure the kitchen can follow up in terms of output ! That’s was quite disappointing today.

A Special Find Near Essaouira : Warm, Authentic & Delicious This place came highly recommended by my Moroccan dermatologist in Paris, and it lived up to the praise. Tucked away near Sidi Kaoussi’s wild beach, La Mouette et les Dromadaires is a peaceful oasis that stands out nicely in the area. The terrace and restaurant have a simple, lovely charm – relaxed and thoughtfully designed. The Moroccan-inspired menu has a subtle modern touch, and everything I tried was fresh and full of flavor. Highlights included the Carrots Marinated with Cumin (with sumac yogurt), Burnt Eggplant with oranges and harissa, and the standout Seafood Tajine "Bouillabaisse-style" with chickpeas, dates, and aioli. What makes this place really nice is the genuine warmth of the team. The servers were friendly and attentive, and the French owners (from Paris) were refreshingly down-to-earth. You can feel their sincere appreciation for Morocco and its people. A wonderful experience: great food, a beautiful setting, and truly kind hosts. Well worth the visit if you’re near Essaouira!

A lovely hotel and restaurant which welcomes outside guests for lunch and sundown drinks; evenings are reserved for in-house guests. We were not residents but have been many times for lunch and/or drinks and are reviewing the restaurant. A sophisticated, dog friendly restaurant with great food and wine in a wonderful sea view setting. Some reviews mention the rough path leading to it, but it is not unusual in this area to drive up similar paths to get to places so whilst it is better to have a higher car, it’s entirely possible to do it in a normal car too; just slowly and carefully..all the locals do :) Part of its charm is discovering it at the end of the drive! Without hesitation, I recommend the restaurant for a thoroughly enjoyable lazy afternoon lunch and we are, in fact, returning later to do just that 😋

Ok place - food was ok. No alcoholic beverages. Service was quite slow. One of the better location in essaouira.

Food isn’t what it was! The previous owner were mutch better! We are sad! Service is still very good also the hostess the best. Food 2/10.

An amazing find in an ideal location if you want to avoid the crowds. An engaging, humble and welcoming team from the moment we stepped through the door. Well cooked food from a simple but inclusive menu. Could have stayed much longer.
