Searching for a calmer place in La Latina on a Saturday afternoon, a group of us wound up here to share a bottle of wine and eat a few snacks. I immediately liked the feeling of the place and loved that we were able to sit after being on our feet all afternoon. We ended up trying a variety of small plates- caprese salad, wild boar, croquettes, dumplings, and the quesadilla. It was all good but nothing mind-blowing.
I think that I was a bit miffed though. The service here really struck me as rude and inattentive. To start, we definitely didn't get a warm welcome or pleasurable seating from the hostess. Then, apparently upset and thinking we didn't order enough, our server kept trying to pander more things onto us like burgers and bread.
I will admit I was intrigued by their brunch menu but might try out the Malasana location before returning down to this one in hopes of a fuller experience.
