I returned with two friends after fond memories from eight years ago, but was highly disappointed. Check-in was unfriendly until the owner showed up. My first room had no air conditioning; after moving, I still had no hot water throughout my three-night stay. Breakfast was delicious but service was not served until 9:00am. Front desk service was inconsistent, and the property clearly needs thorough updating and cleaning. There was also loud banging in the middle of the night. Overall, this place has seriously declined and requires much more attention and care.

I went for a family lunch and we had a beautiful and peaceful view of the lake. The menu and service are worth going back for.

This is a large, beautiful, old-world charm Inn. The room was good-sized, and the bathroom/dressing area was huge. Our room looked out on the small but gorgeous pool. The staff was top-notch, and the included breakfast was tasty and served in an amazing garden overlooking the lake.

The property is 50 years old and looks it. The rooms have been renovated and updated but are still dated. My biggest disappointments were the advertised air-conditioning and included breakfast. The AC blew cold but barely cooled the room. It was noticeably cooler than outdoors but did not cool down as much as I had expected or hoped. Despite this I was able to sleep fine. The first course of the included two-course breakfast was toast and coffee or tea. The second course was selected from a limited menu, two fried eggs, a frittata, pancakes, and included potatoes. TBH it felt rather small. Maybe I'm spoiled by the huge breakfasts included in the places I stay in Asia. On our last night there was a rainstorm around 1am that blew enough water into the room to cover the entire bedroom floor! The electricity went out and the battery powered emergency lights illuminated our room for the rest of the evening. Almost all of the lights and outlets were still dead when we left in the morning, but the AC continued to run after a brief outage. The location of the hotel is a 10-minute walk away from the town square. The sidewalks are narrow and the streets a rough cobblestone that challenges even the nimblest footed able-bodied folk.

"We'll be back" says it all. What a great hotel and location. I walked to the Malecon and the plaza each morning before breakfast. The owner and staff were very attentive, always willing to take that extra step to make everything just right. Am unsure if it is the training or the hiring, but the staff was always, always friendly and courteous with a sincere attitude of "what can I do for you?" I also had the pleasure of meeting the Owner's mother, a delightful person and accomplished artist. Most if not all the paintings located around the hotel were lovingly painted by her hand. Clean, comfortable and welcoming. This place has it all.

This is a lovely place to stay, but could be better. Our room on the second floor with "lake view" had a "view" that was totally blocked by the fabulous rubber tree in the courtyard. Only 3rd floor rooms truly have a lake view. The room was very large and decently furnished. Hot water was marginal during our stay--just barely hot enough to shower. The included breakfast could be a lot better. It's discouraging to be in a tropical area and be offered no fruit at all at breakfast--an unappealing fruit dish is available at an extra charge. We were also annoyed to be offered too little bottled water, and told that we could refill in the lobby. Refill what? The empty water bottles?

This hotel treats customers like family. Their food service is limited to breakfast and late lunch-early dinner and the food is excellent. Staff are friendly and the owner is usually around for queries. Well located on the waterfront but minutes walking to fine restaurants and other town ammenities. We stayed 50 days, each a treat.

We stayed here for our wedding night. We came to Ajijic for a private ceremony, and they let us use the courtyard. It was a beautiful view of the lake while we said our vows. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and we had a delicious breakfast the next day. Very easy to walk to even after dark. It feels like being in a different time. It is an older hotel, so expect the rooms to feel as such when you book. We loved our stay, and would do it again. If you are looking for a nice place for a very small and private ceremony it is worth asking and staying if you can. The owners and staff are all so kind and we can’t thank them enough for making our wedding so wonderful.

Yelp
From Chicago, first time in Ajijic. We had breakfast at LNP. Here are some of my thoughts: -The restaurant is part of a hotel, with many English speakers, so the menu is in both English and Spanish. -It has both inside and outside seating, but the outside features a beautiful view of Lake Chapala! -I ordered the ham and cheese omelette, and it was delicious. -My wife ordered the chilaquiles, and they were out of this world! -The service is VERY good! Overall, highly recommended!!

Yelp
We have stayed here four times. So you can't say we didn't try! Each time, our stay was worse than the last. After several years of ignoring clogged drains and mildewed, dirty showers, problems with our reservations (that we had confirmed and had in writing), no A/C, a very rude owner, a decrease in breakfast menu offerings, EXTREMELY uncomfortable sheets & the worst pillows we have ever experienced, among plenty of other things... we won't ever return. The positives: The view from the outdoor restaurant tables, The friendly employees, sitting under the huge tree having breakfast and being able to easily walk to the plaza & around the village of Ajijic. But, we can no longer ignore all the negatives and the rude owner. She shouldn't interact with guests, ever!! We also can't ignore the fact that the hotel is very run down & needs maintenance. Parts of the property look like a junk storage area. We have stayed in other Ajijic hotels and will recommended that our friends and family do too. There are plenty other hotels located in and near the village to choose from!

Yelp
Great location on the water with beautiful garden seating with great views. If the weather is bad, the interior is really well done and very cozy. Service was fast and friendly with the food quite good. We started with margaritas and a bowl of guacamole with chips inserted all around on the edges. Delicious. Our orders were brought to the table just as we were finishing our guacamole. Perfect timing. Check the closing time as if I remember correctly, it closed at 5 pm. Way too early. Probably the best romantic dinner spot in town (if it's open at night).

Yelp
Pretty place to eat outside by the lake. The views are amazing the food is just good. They have a very classic Mexican 8 room hotel. I heard lots of nice accolades. Parking is a bit of a pain but definitely worth a visit for lunch and or dinner.

Yelp
Lovely lakeside setting and very possible with groups. That the waiters are willing to take 25 orders at once - with separate checks! - is a testament to their commitment to service. The good was good and the drinks tasty. But mainly come for the setting and the nice waiters. By the way, there's a parking lot across the street now.

Yelp
Our first morning in Ajijic and breakfast was wonder. Highly recommend the huevos a la mexicana.

Yelp
We had Christmas dinner here and can not say enough about the wonderful staff. We arrived early for our reservation and were seated right away. A server arrived at our table in moments and took our order for wine. We had a great time, and the traditional turkey dinner was delicious. We would highly recommend La Nueva Posada. They also have wonderful outdoor seating on the lake with a beautiful garden setting. The food has always been delicious, and their service is the best you will find in Ajijic. Don't miss this one!

Yelp
Downstairs from our wonderful hotel room my wife and I were pleased to find a delightful place to eat. After our perfect margaritas my wife (Maggie) had their fish tacos while I had their arrachera steak. Her tacos were tasty and my beef was flavorful and tender. Last night Maggie had the pear salad with caramelized walnuts and I had Wiener schnitzel. Both were excellent. We've also had two breakfasts we were fond of, including chilaquiles, an omelet, Mexican frittata and eggs Benedict (besides my own recipe, best hollandaise I've ever had). This is some of the best eating we've had in Mexico, and the service has been above par.

Yelp
Great building but the food was not as good as other local options. Four of us had breakfast and all shared a lack of enthusiasm for our meals. Not "bad" but not memorable either. Having a dedicated parking lot in this neighborhood was a huge plus. Probably won't go again. I give it 4 stars because of everything else- the food alone would be 3 stars.

Yelp
This hotel/restaurant is right on Lake Chapala near "downtown Ajijic". I've stayed many times in main hotel and guest houses. Nice cooked to order breakfast included. Good value.

Yelp
I highly recommend this restaurant! We went there today with our "Jalisco Tours" and I've got to say it was one of the best meals I've had in Jalisco. We sat outside in the outside patio/garden and the weather was absolutely beautiful and we had a perfect view of Mexico's largest lagoon, "Laguna de Chápala." The service was absolutely great! Our waiter was a young man, but very well mannered. I don't think I've ever been treated so great, not even in the US. Anyways, we tried the sopa de tortilla as an appetizer and it was absolutely amazing and flavorful, next I tried the charbroiled steak in mushroom sauce with mashed potatoes on the side and even though it was a big portion, man I wanted more of that delicious meal. Then, as if I wasn't satisfied enough, I had a chocoflan as dessert. Absolutely delicious!! Everything was amazing and this made my tour even better. You cannot go wrong with this restaurant with it's amazing view, service and food. I will be definitely coming back in the near future! Oh and I forgot to add, we paid around $24 for two people with drinks, appetizers, meals, and desserts. Super affordable!
