The food was okay, but nothing spectacular. The Bratwurst in Mexico has an odd texture and lacks that crunch when you bite into it. Ambiance is nice, but we had to eat inside as there was a Birthday function going on in the garden. Service was a bit slow and inattentive, but that was most likely because of the party. Price was on the high end for average food. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience.

We stayed here for our wedding night. We came to Ajijic for a private ceremony, and they let us use the courtyard. It was a beautiful view of the lake while we said our vows. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and we had a delicious breakfast the next day. Very easy to walk to even after dark. It feels like being in a different time. It is an older hotel, so expect the rooms to feel as such when you book. We loved our stay, and would do it again. If you are looking for a nice place for a very small and private ceremony it is worth asking and staying if you can. The owners and staff are all so kind and we can’t thank them enough for making our wedding so wonderful.

We LOVED our afternoon at La Nueva Posada Ajijic! We enjoyed drinks on the back patio overlooking the lake (we were not guests at the hotel) and found it extremely peaceful. We were brought there by our day trip / excursion tour guide and couldn't have been happier. The drinks were cool and delicious. The patio is shielded by a sun shade and the temperature is a bit cooler than the neighboring towns. We would have ordered food there if we had not been so full from snacking earlier in the day prior to arrival. Pick up a copy of the real estate guide in the hotel lobby while you are there so that you can dream while you drink! Thanks again for a fabulous afternoon at your property!

I am currently staying at La Nueva Posada. I’m a frequent visitor to Ajijic. This is my first stay here. I have been here for one week and this will be my choice for every future visit! The location, the delightful English speaking staff, the delicious made-to-order breakfasts, the beautiful grounds overlooking Lake Chapala, the spacious comfortable rooms, the beautiful works of art by local artists, air-conditioned rooms if needed….need I say more, because I can, but it’s late and I’m going to sleep in this very comfortable bed and looking forward to another enjoyable week at La Nueva Posada!

Beautiful hotel, in great location near the lake. Staff so friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned every day. Breakfast was delicious with seating inside and outside garden. Very close to everything but quiet.|Walkable to the malecon and Ajijic plaza.

We ate lunch at the restaurant at this pretty hotel in Ajijic. We had shrimp ceviche, grilled fish with a garlic sauce, and chili relleno. The shrimp ceviche was good (it’s difficult to mess that up). The fish entre was absolutely awful. It wasn’t fish with a garlic sauce, it was garlic with the faint hint of fish. It could have been fish, pork, chicken, moose, or bear. All you could taste was garlic and it was literally covered in chopped garlic. The chili relleno was meh. I can’t understand how a restaurant survives without someone that knows how to cook. It’s just not that difficult to watch a video and learn what to do and not to do.

Charming small boutique style hotel. Family run with owners present to help with any concerns or travel plans. Very clean and comfortable rooms. The breakfasts are well prepared, tasty and large. Ideal place to get around town or just hang out. The pool is cool but refreshing. The decor is spectacular. Don’t pass this one up.
