La Oliva was where we had our final group dinner in Ibiza, and it was a great choice. I reached out for reservations for our group of 9 the day before - fortunately, we were able to score a table, but we were inside. After a week in the heat, no one minded sitting indoors in the air conditioning!
Our server, whose name I forget, was awesome. She was on top of everything we needed for our entire visit. The wine selection was nice - we opted for house rosé to start which was great, and we all went our own way from there, with some sticking to wine and others trying cocktails (and some of us drinking all of the drinks).
For starters, the goat cheese puff pastry came recommended in a local guide book I had purchased, so we ordered two for the table. A delicious choice! The burrata and jamon iberico were also excellent, and the bread with housemade garlic aioli was addictive!
I dropped the ball when it came to entrees. For some unknown reason, I went with the chicken, while others around me selected seafood and beef. The chicken was chicken. I wasn't crazy about the texture, which was kind of rubbery. Thankfully, my friends with much more delicious entrees were kind enough to share. My friend Sam had a white fish in curry sauce that was absolutely delicious. Another friend shared a piece of his filet which was excellent. Order these dishes, or one of the other seafood options. Don't order the chicken. I wish I could take that back!
La Oliva is a solid four stars, and possibly even five, depending on how you order. Highly recommended for a nice and affordable dinner in the walled city of Dalt Vila.
