La Paillote

Five Stars. A perfect evening by the sea. We loved our dinner at La Paillote. The presentation of each dish was so elegant, and everything we tasted was full of flavor. You can tell the kitchen really cares about both quality and detail. The setting is incredible, right by the water with beautiful views, especially at sunset. The vibe is refined but never stuffy, and the staff were warm and welcoming from start to finish. Not the cheapest meal we had, but definitely one of the best. The price totally matches the experience. Highly recommend if you’re in Cagliari and want something special without feeling overly formal

Five Stars. Beautiful spot with amazing food. La Paillote is one of those places that gets everything right. The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented — every dish looked like it belonged in a magazine. The atmosphere is chic but still totally relaxed. The staff were kind and attentive without hovering, and the whole experience felt calm and effortless. Add in the gorgeous sea views and a perfect sunset, and it really feels special. The prices are fair for the quality and setting. You’re paying for excellent food in a stunning location — and it’s worth it. Would absolutely return.

This place is incredible, hands down the best meal we had in Sardinia. The location is fantastic with great views out over the sea. We came on a Monday lunch time so was very quiet, it obviously gets much busier at weekends definitely recommend booking. The staff were great, able to communicate everything to us even though we speak no italian. The food was exquisite, amazing fresh fish in the Amberjack sashimi and Tuna tartar, and the pasta dishes were the best pasta we've ever had! Can't recommend this place highly enough, the prices might seem steep compared to some other places in Sardinia but it is worth the money!

Enjoyed a lovely sunset dinner with friends. I had the Salmon Tartare and the Fish lasagna (pictured). We also had some sides and dessert options. Cocktails and Spritz are not on the menu but can be ordered. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu with great wine recommendations. Stunning views but it does get cold when the sun goes in. Party night is Friday night.

Honestly a disappointing experience. Food was terrible and overpriced. I ordered a pasta that I could barely eat due to how much salt was put in it and my friend ordered some greens that all you could taste was burnt :( it is a shame due to how beautiful the restaurant view is but I would only recommend this place to grab a drink and take pictures! You’re better off eating at another restaurant unfortunately, as Cagliari has many amazing ones. The service was pretty great I must say though.

Very overrated& expensive. For drinks, its good, but for food no way. We ordered tuna tartar & veal tartar which were normal. The plates lamb just ok & poke salad which I gave back as it was terrible. Only good thing is view & nice ambiance.

La Paillote was a dream. The most memorable view imaginable, especially during sunset. Steps from the restaurants lead straight down to the beach. The tables perch over a cliff that looks over glistening blue waters. Beyond the atmosphere itself, the drinks were amazing, service delightful, and the food (especially the appetizers!!!) were to die for. The tuna tartare, aperol spritz, amberjack sashimi, and the fries!!! I swear they were triple fried- the best I have ever tasted and served with an aioli. Only complaint is main dishes were lukewarm and nothing to write home about.

I think this place is overrated. Obviously the location and the views beat it all, this place is unique. Prices are high but that’s completely fine for this location. Service is questionable: hostess is rude and arrogant, waiter was very nice, with perfect English, but we barely saw him - had to wait each time looking over empty dishes… we had amazing non-alcoholic watermelon cocktails and once asked to repeat, got apple ones (not great) and a comment « but it’s non-alcoholic, like you’ve ordered! » - so people not drinking alcohol don’t care? Overall, they could improve the service and maybe replace the cheap plastic chairs. Won’t come again, but will recommend for a memorable night with a a view.
