⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A True Local Gem – The Real Taste of Zihuatanejo! If you're looking to experience real Mexico, far from the touristy façade and overpriced resorts, this hidden gem in Zihuatanejo is the place to be. Every bite here feels like home — warm, bold, and unapologetically authentic. Let’s start with the tacos al pastor: freshly shaved from the spit, the pork is tender, flavorful, and perfectly caramelized around the edges. It's the kind of taco that makes you stop mid-bite and smile. Combine it with one of their vibrant house-made salsas (from smoky to fiery), and you're in taco heaven. But the real surprise? Their loaded potatoes with cheese and al pastor. It's comfort food with a Mexican soul — melty cheese, savory meat, and all the right toppings. It's messy, rich, and unforgettable. Then there’s the cheesy chorizo dip — a bubbling skillet of melted cheese and spicy chorizo, served with fresh, warm tortillas. This isn’t your average appetizer — it’s a showstopper. You’ll want to mop up every last bit. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the ambiance. It’s relaxed, welcoming, and full of life. The staff treat you like family, and the energy of the spot reminds you that you're not in a resort town — you're in Mexico. The real Mexico. The kind that’s colorful, soulful, and filled with flavor at every turn. Come hungry, bring friends, and don't rush. This is the kind of place you’ll remember long after you leave Zihuatanejo.

Came to try the famous papa loca while visiting zihuatenejo and boy was it good! I really enjoyed the tacos de chuleta as well as the papa especial. The arrachera fajitas were also very good and I loved the Jamaica. Service was a bit slow and there wasn’t much people there to begin with. I thought maybe it was because we were a party of 8 could have been the reason. None the less the food was absolutely delicious.

We walked here on advice from locals. Great food...the potatoes are loaded with flavor and delicious. Cold beer. Very attentive service and staff. It's on the corner of a busy street, but tucked in enough that there was not a lot of noise.

The food is hot and fresh, the potatoes are a decent size. They serve very large groups easily so it was pretty busy but even then our food came was ready pretty fast. I had the potato with aracherra and it was really good. Al pastor tacos were good too.

According to my tour guide, it was a must. Truly appreciate good food, and I'm so glad I waited until 5 pm to enjoy my Papa Loca with alpastor and pineapple 🍍 Wow, the service was great and the food was so delicious. I ordered tacos and papa loca. A must-try when in the area! You will need one to go😁

I’m not usually gushing over the food but this was legit the best food I’ve had here in Zihua. Mary was our server funny enough, and was top notch! Even though it was busy with a line she was attentive to all our needs Our Costras Al pastor was seriously mind blowing! We wanted 10 more! The crazy potato was rich with cream and all the meat we topped it with. Oh those tacos were so tasty as well. The red onion side and salsa was the perfect accompaniments to our meal. I seriously wish I had tried this place at the beginning of my trip instead of the end so I could of eaten here more. Instead I’ll dream of the next time……I’m crazy for La Papa Loca!!!

Great little restaurant. About 10 different stuffed potato options, tacos and other things. The potatoes are in an aluminum foil boat, no skin, and topped with just about anything you can imagine. I had steak, pork chop, ham, onion, mushrooms, cheese and jalapeño. You essentially get half of a potato so if it is our main meal for the evening, I’d get two. Or if you are going there with a group, tell them it’s for sharing and they will cut it in half for you. Great spot filled with locals so you know it’s good. Would gladly go back!
