We took a ride out to Berwyn to La Parra Restaurant.
I really wish La Parra had lived up to the hype I read about, but, it did not, not completely.
We went on a Thursday afternoon and it was not crowded.so there is no excuse for the lack of attention.
Our waiter was rushing us even though it was our first time here.
I was shocked to see the reason he was rushing us, because he was giving more attention to another table. Perhaps he expected a bigger tip (little did he know that we tip very well with good service.
We ordered the Lamb Shank Risotto (with parmesan risotto in a guajillo sauce), which was very good, the meat was very tender, and the sauce was great!
Our other entree was the Seafood Platter (shrimp, octopus, scallops, mussels, and calamari in a spicy tomato white wine sauce) and it was good, not great.
We had the special dessert, guava cheese cake that was absolutely delicious!
A bald headed man who looked like the manager went up to every table except for ours.
We also were not offered the free shots after our dinner, but, everyone else was. We were the only ones in the restaurant who were not offered them.
There is a slim chance that we might try them again, but, only for some of their tapas.
Would I make this a destination again? I highly doubt it.
