"An Easy Hike to the River Just Outside of Madrid A one hour drive from Madrid lies a whole new world, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. La Pedriza is one of the most accessible hiking places, there is a train that takes you about 10 minutes walk from the many trails which lead to the summit of La Pedriza. Along the way you will find lagoons, stray cattle and even bulls munching foliage, and several water fountains which come from the crystal clean river Manzanares. Living in Madrid, first time in La Pedriza and could not imagine such a beautiful place so close from the city. Hiking paradise, the landscape is so scenic with those boulders all around. Fully recommended for a great day in the outdoors.

What a great place to go hiking.. Every where you look is a magic picture, nature gives a magic impression of rock formations, rivers, trees, plants and animals.. The area is very big so you can rich it from different directions. Its a great option for any time of the year .

It was extremely great time if you consider going there, then it is best for you to reach there before 10:00. Because if you are a nature lover then 8-9 hours of mountain claimbing, or walking is nothing but a crazy great time for you.

It was very interesting adventure hike. No marked paths just follow the ones created by animals/other tourists. Not far from Madrid beautiful rocky areas with full of wild animals. Highly recommend

Great place for a hiking daytrip from Madrid. However the signs are not good enough without a map so make sure you have one or pack a gps. Phones will have no coverage when you get a little bit further away from the carpark.

Absolutely beautiful, it's worth getting higher away from the mass of people who don't venture far from the car park. Worth getting a guide or someone who knows the paths to really explore.
