La Pergola

A nice hotel. 15 min walk from the Central station of Bern. If you book the hotel, then you will get a free public transport ticket for the duration of your stay. Additionally you get free coffee, if even you did not book a breakfast. The rooms a clean and sufficient for a short stay. The price is perfect in comparison to other hotels in Bern. A good hotel for a short business travel.

Location is great with a quick 10-15 minutes walk to the main station and flexibility of late check in was appreciated. The room was clean except for the a strong sewage like smell and unfortunately no door to the bathroom that is closable. That alone was a no go for me to return.

Very nice quaint like smaller hotel near the center of Bern. Very clean and staff friendly and helpful. Public transportation with trams and busses running frequently to take you all over the city have stops very close but they also have parking for autos. Included in stay is a very good breakfast buffet.

It was a nice experience staying in La Pergola. Very professional, helpful and friendly stuff. Rooms are clean, and also close to multi public transportations. The receptionist Bel (?) who worked on 6/29/2024 afternoon is a real credit to this hotel as he provided above and beyond support as I lost my cell on tram 3. He tried his best to help and gave a very wise suggestion to found the cell back quickly. Also a Lady who welcomed us on 6/27/2024 afternoon at the reception was extremely friendly and courteous, always ready to take our requests with a warm smiling. We definitely recommend this establishment.

I did not like. Position is good. Someone of reception seems angry...not good for whom works with public. We stayed just for 1 night. 2 hours before the checkout the cleaning lady knocked the door for cleaning...absurd

Rooms are dirty (wall paintings). There was a bug in a bed. And a nail on the door of a refrigerator, that was creaking every time you close and open the door. Location is good, quiet place but noisy neighbours. They don't think about other quests, especially those who are German speaking-very noisy. Staff is rather friendly, especially one man, who worked on 23th June. But NOT blonde (he was on the contrary rude and stingy, didn't even want to give one sheet of paper and answered to questions as if I'm asking money). Ridiculous.

Very professional and friendly stuff, sadly this can't be sayed about management. Way to overpriced for what is giving. Very first shock was the terrible smell on the 2nd floor and after in the room. It has that old and humid smell when pipes are leaking in the walls. The rooms furnitures are very used, the pictures were taken somewhere in the past several years ago... |When in the famous Zermatt you get modern 3* spa hotel for the same price, I think there is an ethical problem with pricing...

Great little hotel, few minutes of the train station. The area is very quiet. Room was comfortable but the bathroom quiet small. A water bottle was provided. Walls were thin but for one night it was no big deal. Transportation card was provided free of charge.
