La Perla Restaurant Cape Town

What terrible service particularly from Deepti. No one came to help us until the manager eventually came through and he was great. The food was rubbery and burnt. My mocktail was drenched in syrup and insanely badly mixed. But the location is great and it’s really pretty- very disappointing.

The best fish and seafood in all Cape Town. Very big portions and delicious fish. One of the best I have ever eaten in my life! Also great atmosphere and friendly staff. You should try sole and grilled calamari plate plus they have amazing salads. Truly recommend!

Great option for an upmarket lunch or dinner, overlooking the ocean on Seapoint. We ordered a salad that we shared with 8 people as an easy starter. The risotto primavera was delicious as a main. Extensive wine list. Desserts are a generous portion and can be shared, with a great selection. Good service. I would recommend La Perla.

This was a great place, 10 years ago. Now unfortunately both the service and the food don t match the nice outside terrace. Not dramatic, but you can do much better in Capetown.

Just had dinner here my gosh lamb chops were amazing cooked to perfection Prince was our waiter, Outstanding Brother thank you so Much for your service it elevated the experience.

A classic in Sea Point! Still great outdoor seating and friendly service. The decor is a bit dated and needs a refresh. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is not quite right for the price: pasta and seafood are still fresh, but the dishes, especially the sauces, are no longer cooked to perfection. Best to enjoy the terrace outside when the weather is nice and have a drink. You can eat better in Cape Town.

We have been enjoying La Perla since the eighties. Unfortunately, it has lost some of its unique style over the years. Especially in the small things. The menus, printed on the cheapest thin paper, looks dirty and messy like a grade one scrap book page. Certainly you can improve on this. I am most probably "old School", but wearing baseball caps inside the restaurant does not work for me. Neither does children with headphones and on tablets. I assume the restaurant wants to sacrifice its class and style to conform. Nevertheless, it remains a pleasant place to have a drink at sunset. Dinner, I might consider elsewhere.

Such a beautiful restaurant in the perfect location. It’s just such a pity that time and time again the service isn’t where it should be. We sat waiting for menus, then waiting longer to order, then waited even longer for a food menu (which just didn’t arrive, so we only stayed for a drink).
