I visited La Perle de Maimiti in Bora Bora, and the impressions were amazing! The seller is a kind and pleasant man who was happy to share his knowledge about each product. The prices are the most affordable on the island! I chose several pieces of jewelry for my mum, and they all turned out to be incredibly beautiful! If you are in Bora Bora and want to buy pearls, be sure to visit this store — you will not regret it! The quality of the pearls is simply magnificent!!! I took the round pearls with yellow gold! Shopping for Tahitian pearls in Bora-Bora was really fun. We did lots of research online on where to buy before we came! We had found a guy that sells pearls off his back porch down a long alley from town. He had tons of great reviews with awesome quality pearls. We looked for a while and he Asked what we were looking for. He then brought out the most beautiful colorful loose pearls. We got to handpick out her pearls for her necklace. It was definitely a neat experience. His quality and prices are fantastic. Look at OTHER places first to get familiar with their prices!!

I went here because of all the previous high ratings and was not disappointed. After visiting most (if not all) pearl shops in Bora Bora, I can say Pierre is the friendliest and most affordable vendor on the island. He immediately explains the different grades, colors, and shapes of pearls. He offers certificates of authenticity. He was able to fulfill a unique request I had and even freely offered additional information and services related to my purchase. He is more concerned with giving you what you want than getting all your money. I highly recommend.

The best place to buy pearls in Bora Bora. We visited couple other places and also a pearl farm in huahine. Nothing can beat the quality or prices of Pierre. He even educates on the grading and selection of pearls. Unmatched quality, beautiful designs, upfront and honest prices, skilful workmanship is what makes this place unique. It is a small business based out of home. He patiently explains and helps in selection. I was happy with the entire experience

TL;DR: This shop is unarguably the best place to purchase pearls in Bora Bora. Long version: We canvassed all of the pearl shops on Vaitape region of Bora Bora. But all of the other shops either seemed over priced or the pearl quality wasn't good. We found the recommendation for Pierre's place online and we decided to visit. The shop is advertised using a small board on the road and you have to head into an alley to reach it. The shop is set up on a patio with the pearls on display. We immediately noticed that the pearls looked much better for the price when compared to other shops. We purchased pearls for ourselves and for gifting family. Pierre even gave out pearls for this purpose from his personal collection. We told him that we would be visiting Huahine next day. He told us confidently that you should visit the pearl farm there and your would notice the difference in price and quality at the farm versus the ones he is selling. After visiting the farm we found what he told us was absolutely true. We actually regretted that we didn't purchase more pearls from him. Great shop and great person Pierre! Mauruuru

Best pearls, designs, education, and price. Took half a day to find it and remember the recommendation, but seriously worth every minute. Compared to everyone else that was terribly over priced, the pearls were better and the designs just stunning, owner was friendlier too. Just a perfect experience!!

If you are looking for a fancy pearl store with polished display cases, A/C and leather couches, then this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking to buy the very best quality black pearls at the lowest prices from a very friendly, extremely knowledgeable Pierre Bessy - then you have come to the right place to buy authentic certified well priced pearls. If it rains Pierre might even give you a ride back to the dock or your rental car. :-)
