My husband and I really enjoyed La Petite Tonnelle. We love every dish we ate from starter to dessert. We are for sure coming back to Beynac not only for the beauty but now here. The food really captures the French Country side! We came back for a total of 3 times during our 5 day stay in Beynac. My husband sometimes wanted to eat there for lunch & dinner… Everyone was really nice and we felt comfortable/relax in the restaurant. Some of the servers do speak English as well. They also have menus in French & English. We stayed in Beynac in April and made reservations the day of around noon or day before. FYI: They mentioned reservations tend to fill up a lot during higher tourist season (assuming summer).

Lovely staff in an unusual natural decor, in a cozy and peaceful atmosphere. The cuisine is good if a little bit unbalanced on quantities served for some dishes. Still a very pleasant diner and very good food.

Very nice restaurant with friendly staff, in an atmospheric setting of an old house tacked on the side of the bluff. Tasty food with great presentation. Good selection of beer and other drinks. Owner actually greets customers and makes sure they are happy.

I can't appreciate enough this place because they were open 1 of January. If you can imagine that miracle happened, it's restaurant in France what works in this day. Thank you a lot for your service and food. Smocked salmon is just excellent (home made by chef), duck was nice ( a little bit dry like for me, but compensated by veggies), roulade was good (my husband like it). On my opinion: service/price/quality fair. Service friendly. And again, thank you for your job and service.

Very glad that we stumbled upon this restaurant. Food was very delicious, the staff very friendly and attentive even though we don’t speak any French. The price is almost a bargain. Be careful when you order the menu “Liberty”, the portions are really big. They even brought our dog water without us asking. We had such a great time the first time we went back the next day again.

Hidden gem in Perigord. We came to this restaurant by pure luck. And we were lucky! This is a place where you know the owner loves food and they cook with love. They also like customers to be happy because they are friendly and welcoming. Although the place was packed we got the table anyway. Their 3 course set lunch was 27 euro and a few more for 4 course. Their duck gizzard salad was surprisingly very good! Every dish was made with love. Creme brulee was smooth with the most delicate scent that didn't smell like vanilla and more like a flower. We were so happy to have found this place.

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner here. The ambience was perfect, the service was perfect maybe food was very good. The medallions were a bit grissly. The vegetables were yummy! My steak was very good. They don't seem true much salt in France. I had hot foie gras for the first time. If I had known I was force fed duck or geese I might not have tried it. I'm so glad I did! It was absolutely divine! I couldn't eat the entire piece because it was so rich! I recommend eating here!

Yelp
We enjoyed 2 delightful dinners here. This area is know for the locally sourced gourmet food items, foie gras, truffles, duck, walnuts, white asparagus, regional wines and the chef creatively puts them to use. They are beautifully presented with excellent service. Our server did an great job juggling orders keeping everyone happy. It's understandable why this place was full and the other nearby places had many empty tables. The ambiance is way cool, the restaurant is carved into the steep rockery, it's like being in an elegant cave. The local grilled fish was delicious, as was, all of the above mentioned items we had to try.

Yelp
We enjoyed this wonderful quaint restaurant very much. Lovely ambiance, friendly staff but most of all fabulous food & wine. For people who travel with small pets this place is a FIND! This was our first visit but it will not be our last. Bev & Victor Brandes Spain

Yelp
Since we were staying in a house on the cliffs above the restaurant, coming here was a no-brainer. Our party of four had a truly delightful time at this elegant restaurant. I got steak which was locally sourced, and it was absolutely delicious - perfectly cooked a-point. Everyone else enjoyed their food, although the duck was a bit tough. I would highly recommend this restaurant, and recommend a house on the cliff in Beynac as a place to stay.

Yelp
My wife and I had a delicious meal here on a chilly evening in September. As the other reviews indicate, this is a great place to sample the regional cuisine including fois gras, duck, and local wines. Our dishes were excellent, and the service was good. We were seated indoors, which is very atmospheric. I believe the back wall of the restaurant is carved out of the cliff face. Recommended for a delightful evening in a very beautiful little town.
