The 20 Best Things to Do in Puerto Rico

"On weekends, La Placita de Santurce farmers' market is a packed-to-the-gills party featuring small bars and restaurants. The central market is housed in a historic building, giving the revelry a truly escapist feel. But the real joy here is getting a rum drink in a plastic cup and walking around while taking in the sights. There are excellent restaurants on the outskirts, as well, including Jungle Bird, Santaella, and Mai Pen Rai." - Alicia Kennedy

Amazing spot to go out in PR. Incredible nightlife of every variety with lots of people of all ages out dancing, partying, talking, eating, drinking. From live salsa to blasting reggaeton you can dance to whatever kind of music you want and hop between the numerous bars and restaurants in this pedestrian square. Cheap drinks and tasty bites

So if you're in Old San Juan and looking for nightlife? Give this area try. You will find many bars and redtraunts. The true partiers don't start to show up to around 10 pm. Before that you will find some salsa dancers and many people eating. Service is quick at the walk-up bars. A domestic beer is $1.50 to $2. A mix drink is $7 to $12. You will find something to entertain you.

Great downtown area with multiple bars, clubs and restaurants. Really fun and we all enjoyed ourselves going from place to place. Music was a vibe and great atmosphere all around

Definitely the place to be on a weekend night! Lots of music, bars, large crowds, and a bumping atmosphere. I would’ve had more pictures and videos of the best parts but I was too busy getting lit. A must do for anyone who likes to party and drink.

What a vibe!!! This place is popping Thursday through Sunday night. The music is incredible, the crowds are huge and the drinks amazing. Definitely check this area out when I’m PR for a good time.

La Placita was a neat atmosphere for a Friday night with mostly locals, one big party on the streets. Stopped in several places. I'd say after midnight you may need your scrappin clothes on. Itll be easy to remember, the wife called it La Placenta.

Imagine a vibrant Latin American plaza, where the air is filled with the sounds of lively music, echoing through the narrow, cobblestone streets. The music is a blend of salsa, cumbia, and merengue, with rhythmic beats that make it impossible not to tap your feet. The plaza is bustling with energy; couples are dancing passionately under strings of colorful lights that hang between the colonial-style buildings. The scent of street food, like grilled meats and seasoned beans, wafts through the air, adding to the sensory experience. The atmosphere is one of pure joy and connection. People of all ages join in the dancing, their faces glowing with happiness. Strangers become friends as they laugh and share in the festivities. The spirit of the community is palpable, as everyone comes together in this shared moment of celebration. There's a warmth in the air that goes beyond the tropical climate—it's the warmth of love and compassion, radiating from every smile and embrace. Elderly couples sway gently to the music, holding each other close as they relive memories of their youth. The plaza is alive with a sense of unity, where every person feels like they belong, no matter who they are or where they come from. The night is filled with the promise of endless possibilities, where love and joy are celebrated in the most vibrant and passionate way.
