La Plage Casadelmar, Near Porto Vecchio, Corsica - Explore & Book

"It's all about relaxation and barefoot sophistication at this 15-room gem on Corsica's stunning southeast coast. Edged by pine trees, the hotel is set on a pristine, private sandy cove with crystal-clear water. Inside, a fresh, simple backdrop of whites, creams and greys is complemented by vibrant splashes of blue, orange and red, which makes for a tranquil yet beach-bright ambiance. Meanwhile, clean-lined architecture and natural design elements (including volcanic rock, wood and glass) create an earthy feel with a subtle touch of mid-century charm that's reminiscent of Palm Springs. We spent our mornings reading on comfy sun loungers under the tiki umbrellas and snorkelling from the shore. Delicious lunches of spider crab with guacamole or a fresh shellfish salad were washed down with a local rosé, and inevitably followed by a snooze on the shaded wooden deck around the turquoise pool. Later we'd potter around the island's villages and towns, or be whisked across the bay by speedboat for a heavenly massage at glam sister property Hotel Casadelmar. We'd return in time for apéros on the beach: sandy feet, warm breezes and sweeping views, with the promise of a Mediterranean-inspired dinner to come. Highs The stunning location: you'd never tire of the sea viewsSuper friendly, attentive staffJust 15 rooms, all with private terraces and garden or sea viewsThe intimate, spoiling vibe makes it perfect for a honeymoon or special holidayVery spread out, with lots of relaxing spaces scattered around Lows All this heavenly beach simplicity comes at a price; it's eye-wateringly expensive No spa or gym, but sister property Hotel Casadelmar has both, plus a Michelin-starred restaurant, and is just a speedboat-hop awayOnly open May-Sept and getting a room in July or August can be tricky; it's often full with repeat guestsFamilies are welcome but there's not much for kids, beyond the beach and pool" - Maia Tarrant

The premises are well maintained and clean. The rooms are spacious. Views are stunning. The resort has a very nice private beach. Food is delicious. What we liked the most is the outstanding service by the hotel staff. I would like to highlight few names such as Alice at the front desk who helped me organize my birthday celebrations at the very highest level. Restaurant staff were very friendly as well.

Stayed here for three nights. Our room was incredible. Large with beautiful decor and quite comfortable. The staff were generous and ever present. They were helpful. Some had better English than others. Overall, however, I did feel nickel-and-dimed for many things. It felt over priced for a five star hotel in Lecci. The beach was nice but not the nicest in the area and quite rocky. The hotel is about a 20+ minute drive from Porto Vecchio and not that well located. Recommend venturing out to some of the beaches north of the hotel rather than the touristy spots near Porto Vecchio. The hotel rents out day beds to anyone (tourists, locals, etc) which is annoying and makes it less private and nice. The food is overpriced and subpar. I ate one of the chewiest steaks I've had (not well cooked and a bad piece of meat), and over cooked octopus (so chewy), and caprese salad (some mozzarella and tomatoes) that were over 30 euro. All of it felt confusing and at times annoying. Our room was nice and being on the beach was a highlight. The staff were nice and the design was fabulous. Breakfast if not included was 40 euros plus coffee plus eggs if you wanted them..... FYI....

We stayed here three nights. Perfection. Around 20 rooms, all arranged secret-garden style with natural hedges and plantings offering complete privacy. Our room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Kudos to the housekeeping staff! A bottle of wine was waiting for our arrival. A huge, gorgeous beach and sandy-bottom ocean swimming in pristine water. Beautiful heated pool. Excellent breakfast buffet, and very good dinner menu. (We ate there one night). The wall of white-bound books near Reception was a sight to behold. Everything seemed torn from a design magazine, but with zero pretense or artificiality. All stylishly natural. Superb service all around from friendly, low key staff. What a find! Would love to return.

A lovely hotel in a secluded location. Comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Not a five star experience though. The restaurant is average and over priced, whilst the staff are all very polite and friendly the service was often slow. The beach furniture was shabby. Good alternatives for dining need a car. When it’s windy the hotel beach suffers whereas other sheltered beaches remain pleasant.

La Plage Casadelmar has beautiful design features, and is blessed with crystal clear waters off its private beach. Despite the end of season chill in the air it was warm enough to swim in the sea and the heated pool. Unfortunately the staff decided it wasn’t warm enough to eat dinner on the terrace and so we had dinner inside surrounded by the breakfast dishes that were already set up for the next day. Since you’re pretty much a captive guest the limited menu got a little tired even for a two night/one day stay. Add to that the fact that the bartender sent us back to our room’s terrace (adjoining the staff laundry) to enjoy the complementary “have an excellent stay” rosé rather than allowing us to enjoy the view from the hotel’s empty terrace with a sea view and we’d think twice about going back - especially at the end of the season. Undeniably beautiful but only 4 out of 5 for us.

We had a great stay overall with my wife and 5 year old. Amazing view and location not far from Porto Vecchio. The boat ride between the 2 hotels (La Plage Casadelmar and the hotel Casadelmar) is a great idea that allows you to get different experiences within the same hotel; very fun and I highly recommend anyone to go try the Grill or the fine dining restaurant (fantastic atmosphere, view and food). Rooms are good, simple but not up to the standard of continental Europe. My main concern was that the restaurant was understaffed from second tier of our stay till the end. They were struggling with not enough waiters and seemed very stressed and overwhelmed. Still, the staff in the hotel was generally helpful. Prices are high compared with the food quality that you are getting; you are really paying a premium for the atmosphere and unique view. We would go back and we recommend the hotel; just be mindful of the points we mentioned.

We stayed in La Plage and the end of July 2023. Room No. 31 We are in our mid - late 50´s. The hotel is quite far from anything else so you'll need a car or taxi to go anywhere. Location. The hotel is located right next to a lovely bay. 4 stars. The sand on the beach has lots of little stones and shells and is hard on the feet. 3 stars. The path to our room was half covered by bushes from the garden. The gardens themselves are mediocre. 3 stars. Unlocking and opening the large patio doors to get in and out of the room is an awkward two-handed affair. 2 stars. The room and en-suite are large and clean. The air-conditioning is quiet and very good. English TV is very limited. 4 stars. Restaurant is nice, but the menu (which is mainly fish or seafood) isn't very large and didn't change all week. 4 stars. All staff were kind and courteous but kept giving us still instead of sparkling water. 4 stars. Some of the things listed above matter (to me) more than others, so I would give this hotel 4 stars. What sticks in my mind now though, (I'm still here at the moment) and I'm sure will be my remaining thoughts about the hotel, are the restaurant prices. We live in Zurich and are used to expensive hotels and restaurants. We have plenty of money, but I paid 1300 euros a night (for 7 nights) and if I wanted a cooked egg for breakfast, it would cost (depending on type) between 14 and 23 euros extra. French toast or avocado toast cost 17 euros. Bacon is 14 euros. This hotel makes Mercedes, BMW, etc look like rank amateurs when it comes to charging for extras. In general, all meals and drinks were (sometimes stupidly) expensive and out of touch with reality. I´m reminded of a comment made by a woman I know who rents out an expensive villa in St. Moritz. "I rent out only to millionaires and billionaires, but the millionaires are a pain in the ass and always complaining about the price". I guess I´m just a moaning millionaire. P.S. Be aware. There are a lot of wasps around the restaurant tables at meal times, especially breakfast and they sting.

Yelp
Great restaurant. Ideally located right on a beautiful beach. Very professional staff (way above average local practice). Food is great - simpler than the "gastronomique" restaurant if the main Casadelmar location on the other side of the Porto-Vecchio bay. Great place for a romantic dinner.

Yelp
Situated right at the beach, completely renovated luxury and favorable hotel. There are few villas and just 15 suits, so it's not crowded and very private. Each room has a cozy terrace. Suits are very spacious and beautifully decorated. Comfortable large bed, big bathroom. Few steps to the beach, where you can swim or just enjoy the view, sun and the sea breeze. They have swimming pool too, but who wants a swimming pool if there is such a marvelous sea. Kids? Breakfast was included. Buffet with fruits, pastries, etc. Like a continental selection, with no smoked salmon, nor omelets or Champaign. But all they offered was delicious. For dinner we ordered room service from their restaurant and enjoyed it at our terrace - in a company with stray cats who wanted to have a bite too, how lovely! No gym, but they suggest you to use their gym and SPA at their main hotel in the city where you can drive, it's not a walking distance. Or they have a charter boat cruising over there. We didn't go there and had a beautiful jog around the neighborhood. Hotel is open for the summer season only. Very peaceful, quiet and romantic place to stay.
